It's actually now a BA of 3.5, and a solo submission over 3.5 too..and you have to include more information in the first post than you did...and lots more rules....

New Collab Rules

Response to: The Newgrounds Intro Collab Posted August 1st, 2008 in Game Development

MEGA ULTRA SUPER IMPORTANT CHANGE

New FPS, cos the old one was a bit too low for peoples likings.

24 FPS

If you've already done a part, just double the frames for tweens and do lots of hard stuff for FBF...good luck!

--------------

And to anyone who asked if they could join, yes, you can. To Muffin1, I'm not sure if it was the FPS which changed your mind, and if it was, do you want to be in it again?

That SHOULD work.

I thought it should be:

if(Key.isDown(Key.2)){

That's what I'd have done...it certainly works for moving MCs. eg.

onClipEvent(enterFrame) {
if(Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)) {
this._x+=5
}
}

Not sure why I included that code, but I felt that it proved my point...your code may work too, and if it does, its better...

Yeah, I'd say just blurring it quite a lot will suffice...

Irony. I love it! You kept going on about grammar, but you made at least 5 mistakes in that....

Response to: Is this possible? (And probable?) Posted July 31st, 2008 in Game Development

I'd say a decent frame rate is between 25 and 35 fps for what you want to do....too many will just make it really hard on you for other bits....

I do

12 FPS?! :o

Are you in?

And yeah, it's amazingly low, but it's default, so it cant be that bad...I only ever use 12fps, and my animations arent too choppy...

OK, it's off the front page of the flash forum (just), so time to bump!

I really don't get why this collab is so much worse than anything else..I only have 2 (with a possible third) people in this thing except me.....

New useful link!

Here is the official sig. Feel free to use it, and if you do, please make the URL it links to this thread...

Yeah, it's kind of a ridiculous idea. I mean, making intros for Newgrounds is kind of cool, but that's the nice part about animating, people can make their custom intros. It's the originality aspect of Newgrounds, just like in games where people make custom ArmorGames logos / intros. Also, it's a terrible time since the Newgrounds Collab is going on right now.

Newgrounds Collab is totally different. In that, they're making Flashes about the NG characters and stuff....

Also, I've seen lots of threads saying 'Where can I get the NG intro where it has the logo, and then it goes down to a bar, and says Everything by Everybody?' and the answer is always 'It's only for people that have really good flashes that are sponsored by NG, N00B XD PWND'....well, what if there were intros of that quality that anybody could easily use? Meh, that's my idea anyway....

In the Raw Materials section, the "NG Style Guides" document has the diagonal line pattern available for you to use.

And then, using something like Photoshop, you could use that pattern to make a larger image, like so.

Awesome, thanks Absent, is their anything you don't have an answer to?

Response to: The Newgrounds Intro Collab Posted July 31st, 2008 in Game Development

Is this collab idea that bad?

Also, an artist for the menu would actually go a long way, so if you're good at designing something that looks like a Newgrounds production, feel free to PM me!

Review well
Offer decent replies to questions on the BBS
Vote properly (there are more ratings than just 0 and 5)

And most importantly...

Make as many cock jokes as possible!

NG background? Posted July 31st, 2008 in Where is / How to?

Does anybody know where I can find a NG-like BG, with the diagonal lines and stuff? I can only get the one at the sides of the pages, but that's not big enough, I want it as a BG for a flash....If I make one it doesn't look very professional either...I know it sometimes comes up if you have a slow connection when a page is loading, but (and I think this is the only time I'll ever say this) my internet connection is too fast.

Thanks,

Tip: You get 3 types of people in the Flash forum: Those who want help (you) those who want to give help (the people you want to go to this thread) and people looking to be in a collab (not who you want, really). By putting the word 'collab' in the title, you repel your intended audience, and attract who you don't want.....

Anyway, not sure why I wanted to say that, but I did....

Old preloaders? Posted July 30th, 2008 in Where is / How to?

Is there anyway to download the old Pico Day Preloaders? You may think this a weird question, but I have the '08 loader, and it had some good sounds that I used for stuff, and I was wondering if the old ones had any....If you know of any links for other preloaders that have good sounds (such as Madness Day or whatever) please link too....
