I was bored. I do stupid things when I'm bored.

Sorry about the bad quality. Although I did it in Flash, I exported it in MSPaint.

Response to: How did u get your NG name??? Posted September 11th, 2008 in General

My initials are CO'D, hence the 'fish' part.

Liverpool, the team I support, were founded in 1892, hence that.

Response to: NG's not very known in my school Posted September 11th, 2008 in General

2 of my friends from school are on there, and a couple of others know what it is, but think that it's shit, and that all the animations are terrible. That's the problem, people are too used to Disney and all that, and don't appreciate NG.

Response to: Where's my bating average? Posted September 9th, 2008 in Where is / How to?

Search your name in the search bar, under 'Artist' then roll over your icon, and your BA will appear. It's a pretty hard to way to find it, it's annoying.

Response to: How do you upload games tothispage? Posted September 9th, 2008 in Where is / How to?

On the flash portal page, click the big 'SUBMIT' button near the top of the page. You will then be brought to a form for uploading your SWF file.

Response to: The Newgrounds Intro Collab Posted September 9th, 2008 in Game Development

Well sooory to everybody who complained about not getting co-authored, but that's the way it goes. If you're a good animator, like those who made it in as co-author, then you get the NGIC to grace your flash submissions page. If not, then you don't. But you can say "I'm in that!" in your head, and it's the thought that counts. I linked to all of your pages too.

Anyway, since I'm making a post, has anyone been told that their intros are in anyone's flashes? I guess it's still a bit early...

Response to: What do you want in the NG Store? Posted September 7th, 2008 in General

A Newgrounds Level-Up. They should cost relative to the number of XP needed for the next level.

Am I morally corrupt? Posted September 7th, 2008 in General

OK, well, I submitted my first flash (well, first that got through judgment) around April or May. Ever since then, up until a few days ago, I have been voting 5 on it every day. I can't remember exactly, but I think it got through with a score of about 1.80, and it is now 3.70 or so..

Is this wrong? How many of you vote on your own submissions?

Response to: Replay Button Wtf Posted September 7th, 2008 in Game Development

Well, when I do replay buttons, I just make a button, and then put this code on it:

on(release) {
gotoAndPlay("//whatever scene", 1)
}

That works fine for me.

Response to: Everything by everyone Posted September 7th, 2008 in Where is / How to?

I don't really like to advertise, but since this is what my submission is for, here goes:

Newgrounds Intro Collab Here, you can watch and download Newgrounds intros from authors to put in your own submissions. Have fun!

Very funny. I guess I was just asking for it, wasn't I?

Also, Shreddy, I like your one, you do obesity better than me.

Well, it looks like the Joker. I like it. I don;t think that the patches in his make-up look patchy enough, they look too forced. I suppose it's not that easy to do it blotchily though...

Anyway, I like it, although it looks a bit traced too..

Newgrounds Users Posted September 6th, 2008 in Art

Post images of you think the average NG user looks like.

Here's mine. A 13-year-old fat nerd who uses way too many acronyms and says stuff like 'pwned' and 'lol' in real life. He also likes heavy metal.

Note the new NG poster in the background.

Just File > Export > Export Movie, and then select .swf file.

Alternatively File > Publish Settings, select SWF, then File > Publish.

I was in no way trying to hint to that. I don't think I could handle myself as a mod, I'd just lock anything I could see probably...

At 9/6/08 01:41 PM, Ismael92 wrote: I suppose that they can do everything a mod can, and more. However, they are too busy running the site to spend time deleting reviews, accepting audio, etc, that's why there are mods (for example, before, Wade had to delete the reviews manually).

They just rely certain activities on moderators, so they can do more important things like keep the site running. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that what mods do is not important, there are just things that are even more important.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it would sorta make mods pointless if the admins did it all. Thanks everyone who helped.

They don't really have all that much time to do small work like accept audio submissions, so they get the help from moderators. They're doing a fine job running the site so far :D

Well, yeah, but do they each, individually, have the power to do whatever?

Admin Power? Posted September 6th, 2008 in Where is / How to?

Do all admin automatically have the powers of all mods?

By that, I mean, can they, by default:

Delete reviews?
Lock and delete BBS threads?
Approve audio?

Or does it vary from admin to admin? I wouldn't think that they could all approve audio, since that requires some level of audio experience...

Thanks,

Response to: scary flash movie? Posted September 6th, 2008 in Game Development

I haven't come across any, but this is taken from this post by Tom:

Bou1der has made a special request for everyone this year: "As you know Holloween is just around the corner and artists are propably already working on their submissions for the big event. Some are funny and some are just weird and others just like the candy. Me, I'm all about the fear and terror that lets you know that you are still alive. So I'm here to ask you to ask all those making their submissions as scary as possible. I haven't been truly scared in a long time. I'm talking about the kind of thing as you lay there trying to go to sleep you can't just because you keep thinking about this one thing, some kind of primal fear, then once you finaly fall asleep it haunts your dreams, the kind of fear that has you looking over your shoulder once the sun is down. So can you put the word out, please? Bring the fear." You heard him; make those submissions REALLY SCARY this year!!! You can also make them funny, or you can make games... But it WOULD be cool to have something really scary hit the Portal. What are some of the scariest movies you've seen on NG in the past?

So maybe there will be some good scary flashes this Halloween..

Response to: Viewing MCs on Timeline Posted September 6th, 2008 in Game Development

Sorry, I don't seem to be explaining myself properly.

If you have a Movie Clip with multiple frames on your main timeline, such as a walk cycle MC or whatever, and if you then hit enter, or drag your red thing along the frames, you only see the first frame of the Movie Clip. Is there any way to see the frames as they would play in the preview?

Viewing MCs on Timeline Posted September 6th, 2008 in Game Development

How do you view the different frames of a Movie Clip on the timeline?

I've seen it done on some tutorials, but that was using CS3, and I have Flash 8...Is it different on CS3 to 8?

I also think that I saw a Flash 8 plug-in for it, but I can't seem to find it anymore..

Anyone know how to help?

Good, try to color it and try to not make the lines as transparent :P

Liverpool. But I'm Irish. Liverpool still rock though! Torres was such a good signing, and so cheap considering what Man City got Robinho for, and Torres is better...

Delete the whole forum? I'm not sure that the rest of the BBS posters would like that..

If you're talking about the thread, you can't, you can just leave it to rest and it'll fall to the bottom..

If you're talking about an intro advertising Newgrounds, I have 2 answers:

-The official one is reserved for submissions which staff view fit to bear the Newgrounds name.

-It's quite easy to make one yourself...
