Haha, rock on. Everyone did a good job. I think Joe's is my favorite. Clean and awesome as always. I feel like I kinda petered out on the girl myself, I really should revisit it and fix her up. Plus it looks like they have 'yellow' eyes? instead of red =P

Yeah, I second this, prisma rock but they're a little pricey. I think I paid something like 200 bucks for my set, although it's a large set. Good luck, post the results if you don't mind! ^_^

Thanks for the response. I think the best thing to do is probably make a few more and do a test or something. MY programming skills are seriously lacking but maybe I'll be able to find a programmer willing to give it a shot. I was thinking of making this dude a first level 'boss' or something, dunno. =P Thanks again!

You could always look at some designs and get inspired to design one yourself. Try checking out, like motorcycle suits and jackets, and body suits like in x men and, saddly, gi joe, they had some slick skin tight suit designs. Some dive gear, games like mass effect, anime like ghost in the shell. Just an idea, fun thread regardless and kudos for not getting pissed about my cock. =P

I'm thinking about adding more hand drawn frames later to add more character to it, I think it feels way too 'paperdoll' right now.

I've noticed that a lot of female animators seem to have a softer more smooth or even elegant flow to their animation. But I mean, nothing is set in stone as stated dozens of times before this. It's the same as how a lot of french artists have this very sensual sexy feel to their work, and anime can often have this flashy kick ass feel to it. Lots of time you can look at art and get general ideas about the artist(s) just form seeing it. That is one of the things that makes art so wonderful imo. ^_^

Hey guys, I admit to not knowing a whole hell of a lot about flash animation, or how flash handles lots of activity on the screen, etc etc. I made this little character last night out of pieces I painted in photoshop. I'd be interested in knowing how well a game would run with a character made up of parts like this? How far would I get before there was 'too much' etc.

Oh, I wanted ot mention, there are subtle random animations, but the current weapon he's using (which is totally changable) kinda covers them up. He randomly blinks and flicks his tongue, his back toe taps like the raptors from jurassic park. His back hand will also occasionally make a fist.

I say, you use whatever refs you wanna use. Study for the job. If you want to be able to draw anything, shit from your mind, stuff without a reference. If you wanna be an illustrator, a story teller, etc, you need to draw as much as possible. Everything.

If you just wanna draw some cartoons for shits and giggles, hell dude, just draw cartoons then. If it is a career choice, use life, use other people's work, use every damn thing you can get your teeth into. If it's a hobby, draw whatever. Just my .02
