looking for comedy sketch writer! Posted May 5th, 2011 in Writing

HI!
I'm an animator looking to team up with a writer to make some short comedy sketches. (these sketches will probably not be over a minute long). The setting for these can be anywhere and any circumstance as long as it is good material. This is partly to help practice my lip sync technique, but also just to have a fun time. I will also be using a voice actor. Of course I will try to split the revenue equally. I will except any one's material that I consider to be funny. Just tell me your ideas and i will respond. I have read many posts of people who are searching for a willing animator- here's your chance.

i made a simple vector polygon and then shape tweened it with some positive ease then put that inside a graphics symbol and duplicated it.

Response to: I need some information on 2d > 3d Posted May 3rd, 2011 in Animation

hmm. If I where trying to convince someone that 2d animation is "better" than 3d I would start up a forum on newgrounds blaring out >3d animation is sooooo much better than 2d!!< and then a mob of computer trolls would start arguing then you just pick out the points that suit your argument.
As for choosing between 2d and 3d, you can animate In 2d to give it enough depth to look kind of 3d
I do this by motion tweening still structures like buildings

and frame by frame for characters (i know its not the best)

Thanks for ll of your suggestions I have learned a lot. Dirtymeatball - I am impressed and grateful that you took the time to demonstrate the features and I completely agree. Also thanks for the blind eye suggestion, I may well try that. I thought That the character's past wouldn't have that much effect on his appearance but Now I know otherwise.

Response to: Movie Parody Collab 1 Posted May 2nd, 2011 in Collaboration

Meh I dont think this one has as much of a punch to it. But if you are short of parts you are welcome to use it. It is very dependent on the dialogue so the voice acting has to be top quality. I havent animated the characters fully either. I added subtitles so te voice actor knows when to speak

Thats really good. I like the way you loop the animation. Alsothe frame by frame is nice and smooth

I know its no excuse. That is why I made this post to learn from the pros. Anyway, I took some of your advise such as face proportions ears and eyes. My opinion is now he looks a little too innocent to be a rogue. How can I make him seem a little more tough and older?

You appear to be implying that animators are not artists, and cannot be critiqued as equals.
Whatever.

I meant that I am animating this on my own without help and I specialise in animating and not drawing or graphix designing. For example I di ntsketch these out before hand like an artist would.

Hi I am starting an animated series about rogue ninja. The style is a bit anime but not too over the top. I designed this to be the main character and i want him looking as awesome as possible

I have an extra movie parody that I made that is just over 25 seconds long and it has all the right dimensions and stuff. It needs a male voice actor and if you want i could post it to beef up the overal colab if you are running short of material. But i dont think it is as funny as the one I gave you. I also have another parody in my head that I might make tonight depending on what im feeling. Im exited for this colab release so ill do anything to help.

Response to: Bone Tool? Posted April 28th, 2011 in Animation

hi. I use flash 8 and upgraded to flash CS5. I do not for one moment regret upgrading however I tried a few sample animations using the bone tool and was very disapointed at the results

pay close attention to the legs in this animation. I used the bone tool with the legs and it turned out a struggle to move them into the right positions
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/b6b8 44df69f8d56415a91efa56b9bb4d

I found I could get the same results and better by having a cutout and not using bone tool and just by distributing the different symbols(arms/legs/etc) to different layers then motion tweening them all at once because this way I could scale/ scew and rotate the different pices how i wanted. the result was much better as you can see here

my advise is upgrade if possible for the other benefits but dont use the bone tool in character animation. only things such as springs, tentacles and snakes.

I liked the game because of the way the cars swerved out of the way of the puppy. That was something i hadn't seen before. I'm busy right now with a few projects but If you still have not found someone to help you in month I could help touch up on the graphics of the current level and the cars/puppy.
