I'm a developer, though admitedly not a good one yet. When I make a flash game, I keep in mind of all of the tools that the Newgrounds API has to offer, including medals, flash ads and scoreboards. If it's available to you, why not take advantage of it?
What I like about medals (and really, any trophies or achievements that give statistics) is that I can see how many people started a game and how many of those people finish the game. My games aren't great, so it's nice knowing there's at least one person out there who had the self-discipline to endure my game.

I have not purchased the Supporter badge for myself as I want to keep the ads. I like knowing each page I open supports Newgrounds or an artist in some way, even if just by a little. I think they're entertaining, but it's nothing that I remember fondly weeks later. Heck, I barely remember the plot to the first three films other than that Sentinel Prime went evil.
I think the Transformers Prime cartoon though is much better than the movies. Only flaw was that human character development was somewhat weak. Transformers Animated was the only Transformers cartoon with a human character (if she's considered human anymore) that developed greatly over the series, in my opinion.

I've read the manga, but I haven't watched that much of the anime.
For me, I just hate the pacing. It's worse than One Piece - it takes like half a season for anything to happen and that was while watching the abridged Kai version. >~<
There are A LOT of better anime out there. Many otakus believe DBZ to be one of those "beginner" anime, similarly to Pokemon, Digimon or YuGiOh - it acted as a gateway anime when you were young, but they're not considered top quality. While I completely respect Akira Toriyama and his talent, I still believe his success was also somewhat a stroke of luck to gain renowned popularity through DB and DBZ. I personally prefer his previous work, Dr. Slump, for some reason...
My rule of thumb: if it's a weekly anime that takes only one week to produce an episode rather than a full year to produce 13 or 26 episodes, the quality-to-quantity balance shifted somewhere....
