Most of America is in an uproar over who will win the presidential election of 2008 but in truth it hardly matters in the long run. People are still going to line up and vote, people are still going to make a fuss, and this may be the first time we have a female or a black president. (Yes ladies and gentlemen I said black, because to me African American is a insult to anyone.) But in the long run none of this will matter. It's not truly up to the president to make things happen, they just gives us strong suggestions with veiled threats if we don't do exactly what they say. No in the end the power is with the people not the government, no matter how much they want to believe. Who can change this country for the better or worse? A New President; no boys and girls they cant help us. The old President; He messed up this country enough don't you think? Us; ding Ding DING we have a winner. In the end the effort to fix the country is up to us. It is up to us to remove our dependency on oil, it is up to us to plant trees. Just as it is up to us weather we "open up the Dump Valves on oil tankers and flood all of those French beaches we'll never see" and kill off the ozone. In the end the president doesn't matter, and the election for him doesn't matter. The only things that matter are the actions we take today, in hopes for a better tomorrow.
