Sound pretty good so far, throw me a message if you want some vocal-work to go with it!
Currently got this one in the making, I'm torturing my rig to run it all.

I'm working on a hardstyle remix~~ I just need to sequence out the arp and then I will be able to arrange the rest of the song. I still need to make the screech break down. >.< Then I'm going to have to re-sequence the lead for the shuffle beat end.

Nonono, lol thats not what I meant, I meant making it in 30 minutes and broken down so that some one who has never touched fl can do it. I want to do a series of videos on how to make drum sounds and effects from the ground up and I figure where better to start then with a three oscillator synthesizer to make a kick sound.

Oh no man, this isn't just about electronic stuff. In my town theres a mill and a train station, and around midnight/oneish theres this lush sound-scape that I love to just record! It's a lot of dissonant screeching sounds but with the natural space it sounds great. You can actually hear it in my one ambient track I submitted.

Dude, there's no need to come unglued.. this is after all a sound design thread. I have a full time job and I still manage to get kick ass sounds from cheep or free vst's. Once you know how to make a sound it doesn't take any time at all to program the patch.

Eventually I'm going to release a simple 30 minute kick tutorial with 3xOsc, but I want to have all of the resources ready for you guys before I post it.

Alternatively, there have been purely sonudfont-based pieces, but that's because I can't find the best solo strings out there. Does Sytrus work well for solo strings?

Well technically if you modeled a patch after a string sound you really liked you could technically get a good enough sound. But it is after all an FM/Subtractive synthesizer so you are 'limited' to those functions. I bet you with enough time and care you could make a patch thats tamber is close to 'solo strings' but It wold never sound real.

I figure it's about time we have our selfs a sound design thread. I would like to start this thread with a basic euro buzz sound.

Depending on what kind of tone you want you could use a saw or a square wave, honestly these days the buzz sound works really well in layering to beef up a pluck or super saw sound. All you have to do is send an lfo to the fm of your osc set to around 50 - 70htz. Boom you have a buzz sound. It's pretty simple but I love the sound lol, I hope this helps your production.

So, not the question is, what are some of your secret sound design tricks?

Anyway back to the peeve, i drifted off a bit.

My biggest composing peeve is always how the hell to make music both sound good on headphones and without them, i tend to make awesome effects that you can barely hear with headphones on for instance but the moment i play the track from my boxes you probably wont notice them, and if you do it either sounds way to loud or creates dissonance or something so i have to remove them, or worse the whole track sounds weird/bad/uncule compared to when you listen to it with headphones and it all makes sense.

I am then always afraid the majority of people wlil listen to my track without headphones and judge it accordingy.
And when the track does sound good without headphones and with headphones its to loud or something im afraid the majority of people will in turn listen to it 'with headphones.

;-;

Yes, the life of a composer is very hard.

What is your composing peeve?

You should be mixing with monitors, if it sounds good on them most likely it will sound good on headphones.

My biggest production peeve is when my cpu can no longer support my project. I cooooooooouuuuulllld bounce track stems... but what if I want to change it later? lol

So I'm using FL Studio 10 and I'm making my first little thing. I added in the "Windy" effect located under the 3x osc category, and it sounds cool... but it won't shut up! I can't figure out how to make it stop and instead it just holds this really aggravating and annoying ring for ever and ever... Does anyone know how I can just cut the stupid thing off?

Thanks in advance. xx

I am assuming that the issue is this, you can right click the vst and press send to piano role and set the note length. I hope this helped. :3
