Response to: Stop timeline sound issue... Posted April 25th, 2008 in Game Development

Oh gay....So I have a sound effect that is on the next frame following the frame that has the action stop command even though it stops at that frame it starts to play a sliver of the next frame's sound effect wtf. Oh, the sound effect is a gun shot btw, not sure if that matters. I had to move the sound effect 4 frames ahead of the keyframe holding the stop command. F'ing wierd.

Stop timeline sound issue... Posted April 25th, 2008 in Game Development

I used the stop timeline command in action script to stop the timeline (duh) somewhere in my movie and it works but for some reason it makes a sound too. Like if you were to puff air into your microphone kinda sound? Any reason why? I have music and sound effects in the movie but the stop before the stop command.

Please help me.

Thank you

Not sure if I should ask it here or the programming/scripting forum but oh well.

You know how when you go File > Publish Preview > Defaul (Html) it shows your animation in a new web browser and it displays it in the upper left hand corner of the page. Is there a way to make it appear in the center of the web page?

Not that it really matters, it just bugs me that it's in the top left >_< and I'm curious if such a thing is even possible.

Thanks guys!

I made a button that makes a sound when you put your cursor over it. I test it out by pressing
Ctrl + Alt + B and then rolling my cursor over the button and it works, the sound is played. But when I test the .swf with Ctrl + Enter or Publish Preview - Html the sound won't play when I roll over the button.

I placed the sound within the button on a new layer at the top and it's placed in the Over keyframe.

Any ideas why it won't play?

Thanks you in advance guys.

Response to: Issues with previewing animation Posted March 12th, 2008 in Game Development

Thanks, I didn't know that about upping the fps.

Why is it that when I watch the .swf of my animation by pressing Ctrl + Enter everything works great like I made it but when I go to File > Publish preview > Default (HTML) the sound effects and or the music is off key??? *note* The sound fx and music layers are at the top of the layers list.

Frame by frame animation help Posted March 10th, 2008 in Game Development

So I am currently working on a few animations but none of them are frame by frame and I want some insight on it please.

What's standard for fbf animations. Do you make symbols and then just duplicate them everytime and edit the duplicate? Do you even use symbols at all? Do you just draw, new keyframe, erase and redraw and use the onion skin tool to see how the previous frame looked?

I really would like to know what you guys think! Your answers will determine how I go about doing fbf animations from now on! :D

Wait, just to add to it, say I use the line tool and make a perfect straight line, then with my mouse make it curve, should it appear kinda blurry then? Optimizing doesn't help.......

Response to: Whyyyyyyyy... Posted March 5th, 2008 in Game Development

Whyyyyyyyy... Posted March 5th, 2008 in Game Development

Why is it that even when I use the line tool and draw a perfectly straight line it can look kinda blurryish in some areas of the line??? I just don't get it..............

Scene Selection Help Posted August 28th, 2007 in Game Development

Clarifacation please... Posted March 2nd, 2007 in Game Development

Two questions:

1) If I make an animation with Flash 8 (which is what I use) does that mean users need to have Flash 8 as well to view my animation because I see those animations where the animator posts "Flash 8 required"? Please enlighten me.

2) Also I see animators post "Graphic heavy" to warn users they might need to lower the quality to Med or Low. I have never had trouble with such animations but how do I know if my animation is "Graphic heavy" enough to warn people?

Thank you in advance :-)

Response to: Flash Troubles Posted February 23rd, 2007 in Game Development

Copy and save your .fla and .swf files into another folder outside of the Macromedia file. Completely uninstall the program, then reinstall it. Place that new folder, with your old .fla and .swf back in the Macromedia file.

That should solve the problem :P

If the file size for this spoof is small then why not add it as a bonus despite Naruto's popularity. Remember that you're already making a full legth feature as you already stated so if your original project size is already big I would ditch the bonus :P Good luck to ya!

For someone with knowledge Posted January 21st, 2007 in Game Development

I just uploaded my first animation which wasn't too bad but when I watched it on the site the timing of the animation with the music was way off yet when I watch it from the Flash program its timing is perfect??? Why is this and how do I fix this?

Button issue Posted January 21st, 2007 in Game Development

Ok so I know how to make play and stop buttons with actions. In my current animation I made a Replay button with just the word Replay for the Up, Over, Down and on a different layer I covered the word up with a rectangle in the hit square. Duh! Well when I test my movie and it's at the end I scroll my mouse over the button and instead of the little hand to click the button my cursor is the input text cursor?! Please help. Thank you in advance :P
