It's the allure of something taboo. It's the "edgy" thing to get drunk.

They feel "hardcore" when they do.

And it's fun.

Response to: Best Game of 2009 Posted June 20th, 2009 in Video Games

Even if it will be locked, for me it's Red Faction: Guerilla. It has taken destructive environments to a new level, and is a game I cannot compare to any I have played before. (Except Bad Company to an small extent) After playing it I find it very hard to play a game without fully destructable scenery - it just doesn't feel right.

Its a shame that Modern Warfare 2 will come out with great gameplay, but nothing especially unique, yet still win game of the year.

I remember seeing something on 4chan about an attack. This is the most likely cause.

They were planning to spam it with porn. I doubt youtube would shut it down for the whole week of the attack though, although today is the first day of it.

Wash your hair and leave the conditioner in, then comb through it. You can get special lice combs with blades really close together. Thats what I did when I was younger and got them, took about 2/3 washes/combs before the were gone.

Response to: I saw a man die Posted June 3rd, 2009 in General

The times for an ambulance to arrive to where I live is usually 20 minutes or more, but the NHS is free so we can't complain, unless somebody dies, in which case we'll sue. Because we're English.

Even if we could complain, we wouldn't. Because we're English.

An hour and a half is bad. I have no idea why an ambulance should take that long.

Response to: Open Discussion- The Bbs Posted May 31st, 2009 in General

I disagree entirely. This is a public forum, a forum is a place for discussion, imagine a thread as a conversation, if you're having an argument with a friend about the best way to cook eggs and you say something and your other friend who's walking by says "Yeah, good idea" you don't go "OMFG GET THE FUCK OUT I'M BANNING YOU FROM SPEAKING TO ME EVER AGAIN!!" do you?

Yes, but conversiing over a forum is different to a verbal conversation. People should be taking more time over there posts, because the pace of communication is slower. Do you like news threads where 75% of the posts are just 'That's cool' or, 'That's sick'? Posts with no substance which do not offer anything at all to the thread.

I do agree with you in some ways though. If you are actually directly responding to someone then I would think it as ok, but if its just a general reply then I dont really want to see it because 5 other people are probably going to post the same thing. Which leads back to the point about the community.

Response to: Open Discussion- The Bbs Posted May 31st, 2009 in General

The only problem here is the general community. I feel discouraged to post because I usually just see crap threads that have been done many times before and contain a very limited body of text. Usually this thing is left alone as it does spark some kind of discussion, and to start banning for not detailed enough threads would send the majority of the community away.

Really, unless you can change the general community, there's nothing you can do for the BBS.

This.

So many people post simply to say - I agree with this post, like I have, but then do not go on to explain why they do, or even expand on the point. In threads, too many users don't read through the whole thing, and even if they do, they post something that gives no opportunity for discussion, and is basically a +1.

But yeah, it's mostly the community, not the Mods. I think the Mod team does a good job. My one complaint would be how different mods lock different threads due to their own personal feelings, but this was already stated in the thread, so I'll just say I agree with it too.

I personally post one-liners sometimes just for hilarity, sometimes due to laziness but never meant to spam. I think the mods can tell the difference between the two and ban fairly. I've not been banned in months for something I think unfair.

Yes, me too. If someone is constantly posting one liners, they should be warned by a Mod to give their posts more substance, and if they continue with all the one-liners they should be banned.

The slaps help people come round. The body tries to respond to defend itself and uses some adrenaline to help this happen. It's like being unexpectedly punched - you tense up and get ready to defend yourself.

The gatorade has a lot of sugar for a quicky energy boost. The person would then be advised to drink plenty of water for the next few hours to get their body properly hydrated again.

Well this thread is a boring read thanks to people stating that your lying in almost every post. Even if you are, it's still an interesting read and people should at least comment as if it's true instead of simply wasting internets.

Gotta say, you sound seriously unlucky. You definately need to get a decent insurance policy out, even if it is pricey for you. First your shot, then you get a brain tumor and have multiple seizures and now this - you sound like you've had your fair share of problems, and lets face it, your bound to get more - Your DNA sucks.

On the plus side your going to have some nice stories to tell the kids. Also...um...Well thats it for the positive aspects of it. I guess you'll just have to deal with whatever life throws at you.

Is this old? I only read it in the paper today. I'm guessing you haven't read the topic and think he actually is the father.

Anyway, when they had sex he was 12. But since they potentially didn't have sex and his girlfriend cheated on him...

OWNED!

Also, I seriously wonder how that girl manages to get so many boys into bed.
