Assuming it is a paid job, I will redirect you to the official art forum request thread
Make sure to read the first post as that is where the instructions to place requests are.

I would like to say though, I don't think there's too many people that want to/can move to London. It's worth a shot, though!

I haven't drawn anything properly since summer vacation started.

I don't know why really. I suppose I just didn't take my time during the vacation. I always told myself "I'll draw when I get back to school", but I just didn't.

It could be this, or it could be the fact that I find any threads/collabs/contests appealing to me anymore. Either way I hate it and whenever I have tried to draw since summer vacation, it just doesn't feel the same as it used to. It used to be fun. now it's a chore.

Seriously, is it really necessary for you to be such a dick about it? Just asking for a bit of help with something. No need for people to be that way at all.
Just asking for a bit of help with something

I like how you completely ignored the fact that I liked you tons of websites with 3D fonts.
I gave you help and said it want too hard to do and that you could, and should have done it yourself.

I can only persume you did not use google, because all the links I gave you were on the first page of a google search, thus I assumed you either had not heard of google, or simply didn't know how useful it is. Therefore I linked you another website and told you google is very helpful.

Or here
Or here
Or here
Or here

Or simply here

It's called google, and it makes life much easier for the rest of us

Keep in mind that the font you are looking for may not actually be free or made at all.

I must say, I like it; it looks stylized, real cool.
The blade at the scythe is a real style break though, there's strong, clear lines at the rest of the body, but when it comes to the scythe, it blurs out as if it was a painting, I'd suggest instead adding some strong shades and/or shines on it instead, to keep the style consistent throughout the drawing.
Also judging by the shading, the light source is behind him/her, yet the background is dark.
For background, I'd draw like a cemetery or something like that.

Good work though!

so please tell me what you think.

I think you should stick to one thread :P

Other than that, I think it looks extremely simple. The tree looks like a crooked hand - in a bad way.
Trees have many, many, many more branches. I suggest getting a reference

Also the guy standing next to the tree says nothing to me at all. It ignores almost everything to be called anatomy, except the fact that he has two arms, two legs, a body and a head. I suggest getting a reference for that as well ...
also the hill he's standing on doesnt look natural, I've never seen a hill bulge up like that and then just become flat. and its lacking shading and background.

Overall, it looks like something you spent ~5-10 minutes on, which is not much, at all. Spend at least 45 minutes next time.

Well, not having blender open in front of me, I think I can recall something about checking if it will render textures. I think there is a button either at the edit panel, color panel or the render panel.

I'm pretty sure there's tuts for this though

Also he seems to be unbalanced. I kinda suspect he's flying judging by the rocket looking things on his back, but still I think he looks unbalanced.
If he's going really fast (flying using jetpack) I'd suggestmaking the legs and body sort of drag behind the body.

After mastering Flash's basics (I use Flash CS3) I wanted to create a decent little Frame by Frame animation that is both colored and cartoony.
I want to create full, living characters, which means no stick guys. Real human beings. (Cartoonish)

okay

Anyway, I was wondering what is the process? I am not asking about the process of producing an animation that is all done and edited, I am talking about the process of the drawing and painting the animation.

I haven't really done anything too long, but I figure I'd first start sketching the key frames of the entire movie. Then from there, I'd probably start sketching the beginning frames, finish the first few frames, sketch some more, and so on.
After I would be done with the entire outline, I'd start coloring and filling in.

Another question is coloring. How do I know which colors to use in order to shade well? I have noticed that in the Awesome Reach animation (YouTube it) the artist uses shades that fit in really well, and doesn't just darken it.

I'm not gonna youtube something that was originally submitted to/on newgrounds
Egotractor uses something called hue shifting. I know there isn't many (if any) tutorials or explanations on what it is exactly, but a good example of hue shifting can be found here
Copy that image, paste it in flash/photoshop and check how the shades changes from the base color.

Basically what you do, is when you're choosing a shade, you change the hue slightly towards blue. And when you're highlighting, you change the hue slightly towards yellow.
It took a bit of practice for me to get it to look right, but some practice is all it takes.

What resolution in flash is good for YouTube? (1280x720?)

Standard flash size is good
If not, then go around 600x500 or something. Too big and some people will have trouble watching it.

Thanks.

No problem, hope it helped

Response to: Ash and the Chaos Sword Posted October 10th, 2010 in Art

say whatever you want, but the pose will still look odd to most people. Now if you're drawing for these people, then you should modify it so that it does make sense. Now if you're drawing for your own enjoyment, then go ahead and draw whatever poses you like.
If you're gonna showcase it for everyone to see and comment on, thats fine. Keep in mind though, that most people are gonna find the stance weird and unnatural.

Post more of your drawings now.

At 9/14/10 01:38 AM, Qackool wrote: THE ADVANTAGES OF THIS.
1. You don't have to individually shade each each color a little darker one by one, this does it all at once.

Can't really say that's an advantage for me. I like using hue shifting, and I don't think any blending effects will hue shift for me.

2. I was creating a movie clip for each shadow before, which REALLLY clogs up your library

Why would you create a movie clip for each shadow?
why not just draw it on top of the base color, or if you insist on keeping it separated, use a different layer. Movie clips just makes it harder to edit afterwards

3. Saves lots of time

well, yeah, if you're going from making every single shade a movieclip and manually turning down the opacity, then yes.
Otherwise, you're not saving too much time.
