Oh and a few things:

This forum tends to be pretty slow at times, so it might go a day - even a week for responses to pop in.
You posted this an hour ago, don't bump your own thread needlessly unless its gone a day or so and you really need feedback.

Do not make 3 threads about one picture
Do NOT make 3 threads about one picture

This looks like a 15 minute drawing that came outta boredom.
If you seriously want to get better at drawing. Grab a pen and a pencil and start doing real life sketches. Practice every day of every week and do not stop ever.

Do not draw because of the feedback you get - draw because you enjoy drawing.

That is all

I'd say this.
Add something like a pink background with some smooth glowing shape of some sort.

kinda cliché but it gets the job done if you're out of ideas

At 11/11/10 07:33 PM, Mabelma wrote: That came out super awesome Gumby, you gotta teach me how you're doing that coloring, it looks epic.

Well okay. After doing the lineart, I used an auto-fill function Dave taught me and just get in the base color. Then I duplicated that layer twice and made one darker and one lighter (Stole this from Dave too). I also tinted the shade color towards blue and the light color towards yellow (refer to the image attached). At this point I will mask out the two duplicated layers and start shading, you can do this by clicking the little button with a square and a circle inside of it called "Create Layer Mask", then you fill the whole layer black, and start painting with white color. If you want multiple steps in the shading (such as I did on the turtle), you can paint with a grey color first, then paint over the extreme shades with white. I used a rounded square brush which I learned from an artist Cloudy linked me to. Later I maybe color the lineart and/or add shines and effects

That's basically it. I tried to get it as smooth as possible on the evolution thingy.

I know this great program called "pencil and paper" It's not too compatible with computers though. You have to buy a little program called "scanner".

the good thing about this program is that it gives you extreme control over your pencil strokes. The only minus perhaps is the fact that it is so minimalistic, so you can't cover up your mistakes so easily.
