Well if you don't dare to post anything in the forums, you might just be out of luck - I don't know how many will sign themselves up as a private tutor. I wouldn't be too worried to post anything in the forum though, it's not too big of a community, and I doubt anyone would care enough to spread the word.

You don't have to post a full set of images, just what you need guiders and pointers on. Surely, if you post in the forum I'll be happy to help, but that's pretty much how far I'm willing to go.

Speaking of kbaum, I just noticed some of his flashes haven't got the genre specified, so could a genre mod take care of that.

To be quite honest, I don't think either of them are very suited for a spaceship shield, but if I'd have to choose, I'd go for the blue circle one, or the green hexagon one.
Also, gradients is usually a no-no, so stay away from that

I suggest you do some reading on how to make logos as it is very similar. You've gotta make simple, yet unique shapes that are easy to tell apart. Spend a good ten minutes sketching up ten or more designs, then pick your favourite and finish it in flash (or any other program you're using). Do that for every shield design, and I promise they will turn out good!

Also, I'm not sure what you want to use the shields for, but I wouldn't just stick them over the ship if I were you. Here I quickly sketched out what I think the ship would look like with different shields

It is a bug in the system, if you go see i-bot, you'll notice he's still under development, nearing completion. The art portal review bug is one of the things that has yet to be fixed. I guess it will be fixed along with the release of the redesign.
