Unimproved mesotrophic grassland is where bees normally thrive, and in the UK such habitats are becoming increasing scarce.
Out of the 25 species of bumblees in the UK, 3 are extinct and 8 are now extremely rare, simply because we are rapidly altering the landscape.
Also, global warming is having a detrimental effect on bumblees, as warmer winters are causing the bees to come out of hibernation and start breeding around at that time. Thats why, if you live in the UK, you have seen a bumblee in around in winter.
It's quite sad really.

Now that... proves that the us is not the most powerful Army in the world.
I don't think that tiny little fact can prove such a major point that the US has not got the most powerful army in the world.
Anyhoo, Britain can manage without the US, It's economy was fine before it joined forces with America, and is still the same today. There's hardly any change.

who knows? because its likely that the leadership of the Uk will be taken over by David Cameron (bassically a posh tool), all combat involving the british army in the middle-east may cease.
Haha, it's almost as if your suggesting David Cameron is in the Labour party and is running for the leadership, fool.
And yes he may be posh, but he certainly isn't a tool. You just think that since he is posh you are stereotypically indoctrinated into thinking he is going to be stuck up, snobby and only giving a shit about the middle class.
Hmm it's unlikely that British soldiers will be withdrawn from Iraq, afterall the Tories did not oppose going to war.

Or, I want the SNP to fuck up so badly, that in a few years time when Scotland see's how successful England is under a Tory government, Scotland will hopefully vote Conservative in the next Scottish Elections.

Yeah, I mean the guy did much better things than any tory has for the country since the dawn of time. If he'd just kept a healthy distance from the republican party he'd have been remembered as one of the best. I actually agree with most of his policies, hell even 3 out of 4 of his mllitary interventions were fine. But then no-one ever talks about them, and I guess its kinda easy to forget he has done plenty of good things.
Yeah, I kinda agree with you, It has certainly over-shadowed his foreign policies. And yes he has done much better than previous tory governments, i.e John Major and the last years of Thatcher.

This graphs pretty interesting. Looks like Blairs most popular moments were: 9/11, Iraq invasion and the London Bombings...... Nice legacy
That's pretty narrow-minded, you overlook all his good moments by highlighting his bad moments, namely the war in Iraq, which I thought was justified. You seem to forget about the National Minimum Wage, more jobs, less unemployment, better schools and the longest period of economic growth in 200 years.
I'm scared to fuck about Britain breaking up, that is if the SNPs actually manage to achieve independence.

I know! Damn those Tories!

If David Cameron is the next Prime Minister, next time I'll be voting to break up Britain. I won't live under the Tories.
The English actually had some sense!
Yeah, seems that way.
I can't believe SNP won. What a load of bullshit, and they only beat Labour by one seat as well.
I may be a Conservative, but i'd rather Labour won than SNP (Conservatives came nowhere near close which is a pity :( ).

Don't even try and justify it.

Yeah well the Conservatives have had a bit of a shameful past, some of that being inflicted by Margaret Thatcher, and more by John Major.
Blair, I admit, did not screw up as much as the Tories did a few years ago, his only fuck up was going to war in Iraq.
Just look at the NHS, its a shambles, David Cameron appears dedicated to reforming and I actually put all my trust in him. He is hoping to private at least 15% (I think) and that will help the NHS back to its former glory, and he did say that free healthcare will still be given to those who need it. If labour stay in power then taxes are just gonna keep on getting higher and higher to maintain the running of the NHS and other public services.
Scotlands population is decreasing now.

Hey man, a tory government would be so much better than an independant Scotland.
If the SNP come into power i'm leaving the country.
*Symphathise, sorry.
As much as I symphasize with my Arabs, I do agree with above poster that they are taking the total wrong approach to resolving the conflict. It is near impossible for the conflict to be solved through politics, as long as the Hamas party exist, and it is probably even more impossible for the Arabs to recognise the Jews and if they are even going to such extreme lenghs that they use their children as shields, then that is pretty evident that their hate is still very much strong, concluding that this conflict will not be resolved for some time yet.

Instead of fighting over land they could share it and nobody would die, its that simple.I wish it was that simple, there are many stubborn arabs AND jews, both want the land for them selfs, the onlly way is for one to be kicked out im afraid, but who to kick out ? Israel ? the wesern world would refuse cuz israel was created to weaken the arabs unity, but israel and the usa are allies, and they like each other, and there is alot of space in the usa for the jews to live. The palastinians ? Where would they go ? all the arabc countries are full(except deserts) and they cant go to a non-arabic country cuz they would be treated like shit !! Now what, who are we supposed to kick ?? I think its about time that the usa launches an atomic bmb and kill both the palastinians and the jews cuz this war will never end !!
Oh yeah, because bombing the arabs and the jews is going to solve a lot. So what your trying to suggest is, blowing up Israel to kill all the jews as well as the minority of palestinians, and blow up all the neighbouring arabs states where the palestinians fleed to after the jewish occupation. So your saying the USA bombs the WHOLE of the MIDDLE EAST!
Idiot.

I hardly think thats a good reason to support Israel.

*Relevant shows having to be changed, not reality shows, my mistake.
At 4/27/07 05:21 AM, cellardoor6 wrote: Absolutely...
But I don't blame the media, I blame the mindless masses of dipshits who would rather see a clip of a celebrity without their makeup on than see what is actually happening in the world. Seriously... the media no longer educates and informs because the consumers don't want that. Now the media just entertains and occupies the time of people who would rather focus their attention on the failures and successes of celebrities than actually learn about something relevant to the world.
Modern mass media is the one biggest negative thing that the US has created and exported to the rest of the world. I remember reading that a few years ago, more Canadians tuned in to watch "American Idol" than they did to watch the coverage of their own national elections. And recently I read that more Europeans watched the show "24" than the coverage of the EU constitution vote.
This is going to be the downfall of western society, people are turning into dumb, mindless little drones who ignore important things in the world and focus on meaningless, insignificant and FAKE entertainment engineered specifically to catch their attention.
Yeah, i'm fed up with seeing dumb, insignificant news splashed over the front covers of newspapers or magazines, such as when Anna Nicole Smiths death, surely there was more important stuff that day, and any political news or any news of significance is indignantly squeezed somewhere in the middle of the newspaper.
Cellardoor6 provided some examples such as 24 or American Idol being watched more than any important programs, the only programs i can think of in the UK is stupid reality shows like Big Brother, I'm a "celebrity" or Pop Idol etc, i'll bet any of them have in some way coincided with any important and relevant news coverages etc with the reality shows having to be changed to another time slot so the nation can watch thier stupid shows. It makes me sick.

Haha, that would be funny.
A fifth of the UK population is obese. Just imagine how much people would have to go on compulsary diets. The companies would be losing pounds rather than the fat people haha.
That is a pretty stupid proposal. I hardly see reason how this is going to improve work or production in a work place.
it's just another excuse for people to skive off from their work, whilst still getting paid, and as that bloke says it is up to the individual to stop smoking.

I'd like you to provide some proof that basically every history book in the world that discusses the internet is false.
The internet would not be as it is today if it was not for Tim Berners-Lee who created the World Wide Web. The 'Internet' basically stands for a group of interconnected network systems that connects computers all around the world via the TCP/IP Protocol.
Tim Berners-Lee, while working at CERN in SWITZERLAND, may not have created the Internet in the first place, many people each contributed to certain parts of the Internet, and they were all not American, so it is fair to say that America nor Switzerland did not create the Internet, it was all a joint effort from people from many countries. Tim Berners-Lee said - "I just had to take the hypertext idea and connect it to the TCP and DNS ideas and — ta-da! — the World Wide Web."
So really, we can say he is behind the connected network of all computer systems today by linking them through the medium of the World Wide Web.
I'm not quite sure which country your referring to, and i'm presuming it's the USA, did not invent the Internet in the first place.
Have I Got News For You was fucking hilarious last night, top satarical comedy at it's best.

And fuck I missed Peep Show last night!
