I think that way the fans will be more open for a new singer coming in.
I actually really enjoyed their tour with Paul Rodgers. I know a lot of people found him too manly, but he is an exceptional singer who brought in a new level to the songs.
Anyway, I'm not too bothered who they choose, as long as their not rubbish and it's not Lady GaGa.
Congratulations to the winners!
Just woken up (I'm on England time), and even though I haven't come out on top, I'm happy with my placement and glad I had a chance to take part in the contest.
I would like to thank the judges in taking time to give in depth critiques of my work.
I think it's a shame that there has been a lot of resentment in the air from those who have not won. It is natural to be disappointed when you don't win at something, but you have to take from it the good points and pick yourself up to do better next time, and prove yourself. Be grateful that you have been given advice and reason to why you are where you are.
Also, please be considerate of the winners. They have worked hard on their submissions, just as everyone else, and don't deserve people stamping all over their glory when they should be congratulated, and be given time to enjoy winning. Just like we all would if we had won.
Again, congratulations to the winner and runners up, I look forward to competing against you all in the future.
And a little something to cheer up you sour grapes

did anyone see about the cyclops shark, thoughts ?...i say that it's a fake until i see a dependable lab result

I believe the cyclops shark to be real. It is suffering from a disease called cyclopsia (or something like that) it turns up in many different species, and is a genetic deformity. I've seen quite a few pictures of kittens with the disease.
But if you want something really freaky, check this out!

Agreed! Its good to know whats going on rather than just waiting around with not having a clue.
Can't wait for the results! Felt like agesssss since I submitted my entry.
Everybody's entries are fantastic. I think this has been a great contest, can't wait for more :)
Nice to see a thread for us girls :)
This contest sounds ace. Already jotting down ideas :)
My surname is Harland and I am a girl. Hence the two merge into one.
Xenoblade Chronicles. Absolute epic game!
I only ever played a demo of Neverhood, and it looked awesome. Then there was that other one with the skulls and the monkeys. Can't remember what it was called.
"Milk was a bad choice" - Ron Burgundy
I can't wait for Skyward Sword! Its my most anticipated wii game at the moment.
I think its nice when they create the Zelda games that branch away from Ganon always being the bad guy and bring in new concepts.
i especially like it when you get to see land/area's outside Hyrule. One reason why I love the Oracle games.
Bread.
Lots and lots of bread (small loaf 65p)
And a bottle of irn bru.
Trust me, that's all you need to live........that and a couple of caramel Fredo's
When I was about 3, we had a ZX Spectrum and I used to get scared playing 'The Rock Horror Picture Show' game because I always got killed be transvestites........in the first bloody room of the game. Though once you had died a couple of times you would become Eddie, and I would manage to sometimes get into the next room without dying.
More Rage quits!!!

I know times are hard, but if you keep searching you will eventually find something.
Ha Ha! A part of me did originally want to write, "If all else fails, become a pimp" Still kind of the same thing :P
Have you tried getting a job?
I know times are hard, but if you keep searching you will eventually find something.
I know you have a lot of angry inside. And I must say I am in awe of your ability to verbalise it.
I find your words very poetic. You have a great skill for words.
I hope one day you will see happiness in the world.
It seems there are a lot of different factors in the sexualization of children. The internet being one, which coincides with parenting, as a child can look up anything on the internet if they are curious enough, but then the question is why the parents are not watching their child. If you give a child a laptop, or some time on the computer you must set-up the proper blocks, if not to sit and look over their shoulder.
Another reason I find is the media and peer pressure. Famous people like Rhianna, Lady Gaga etc. who know that a lot of their fans are younger, and therefore should be setting the standard, and the standard they're setting isn't very good, little girls (and boys) see how they dress and how they act, and want to replicate that. Then it is their peers pressurising them into liking these celeb's and telling them how they should be, how they should act. And they have to act like this to fit in, the alternative can be a very lonely existence as a child. I know I refused to be like my peers, smoking/having sex at a young age/doing drugs, and I paid for that by being a loner all through high school. But I am proud of who I have turned out to be, and as you grow older people accept you more for who you are, but as a child, it is very hard.
I think as people have been saying, the segregation between male and female is being made wider. With girls thinking that men are only interested in them for how they look and how good they are at sex and men thinking that the women expect the same. When really we just all want someone to hold us, accept us, and make us happy (am I right?)
I feel sorry for children these days, they have a lot of pressure on them.
Love drawing the drums and drummers as well!
Hey Guys!
Thanks for your comments. I totally agree with what you are saying, but glad I'm getting across the sort of concept I'm going for.
I think my next plan is to put the images into Artrage on my computer and add colour that way so I'm not ruining the original hand drawn images. I may also play around with trying to give them faces, though as I've said I'm not always great at drawing faces so I'll have to see how that pans out.
I agree about the bodies still being a bit off, I was contemplating buying one of those ball eyed dolls so I could get a really good torso to use as a muse. I have a mannequin but I'd love something a bit more detailed. Unless anyone knows where you can get really detailed art mannequins with muscle definition etc.
Again, thanks for taking the time to reply. Here are some more drawings that I've done, some are a bit more active than others.
I agree with hating escort missions. That's what ruined Resident Evil 4! Everything was going so well, then I had to stop some annoying rich girl from getting shot! I'm trying to make sure I'm not getting killed, never mind someone else!
Also I hate timed sections. I hate being rushed while I'm gaming. Especially when you've got 30 sec's left, and then fat arse faced Boss suddenly shows up and blocks me from escaping. Then I have to re-do or the bloody time panicking again......which I hate!
Do the smart thing, shave them off, then draw them back on. That's what all the secret genius' do.
Probably would have been a good idea to upload the picture as well as the link. Stupid me!
Hi
For the last few months I've felt enthusiastic about drawing rock music inspired art. I absolutely love rock music and want to start my own series of original drawings to try and capture the energy and ponce on rock and roll in pencil sketches.
One of the first things you will notice is that they don't have any faces. This was a thought out decision because:
a) I'm not very good at drawing faces without a refrence
b) I didn't want the characters to be based on anyone particular within rock music, but rather have them as physical interpretations of the music (I hope that makes sense)
There is also a contrast between the bodies and the clothing/guitars. I wanted the bodies and instruments/clothes/hair to stand out so decided not to shade them in.
I'd love to people's opinions on them, if they have any ideas of what I could include into the drawing to bring out more energy (at the moment excluding colour though I would eventually want to colour a few of them)
Here is my favourite image I've done, and probably my best example of what I'm trying to achieve.
Dungeon Keeper
Beyond Good And Evil
Metroid Prime
I absolutely loved the dungeon keeper games on PC, yes I may have been about 9/11 years old when they came out but they were great. I wish I could get hold of them now for my mac. I think I would appreciate them even more now I'm older!
I thought Beyone Good And Evil was a fantastic game, and it got rave reviews. Its just ashame no one bought it, I thought the whole mechanics of the game were spectacular. I loved having to photograph all the different creatures etc.
The Metroid Prime first person shooters were another series I wish lasted more than three games. I felt that when the third game came out on Wii it was just getting into it's stride with all the motion controls. When I bought the first one for gamecube I wasn't sure whether I'd be into it as I'm not that into FPS, but it was more like an action/puzzle adventure from a first person view. Please bring it back Nintendo!
I don't mind people remembering the deaths of loved one's.
What bothers me is the massive deal that is being made out of it. Yes it is awful that a lot of people died in a tragic way. But what about all the innocent civilians who have died at the hands of America, Britain etc. in Afghanistan and Iraq from the so called "war on terror". Who will remember them? They have died in similar circumstances, and much worse than what happened in America.
Tomorrow I will remember the victims of war, as 9/11 was the day their death certificates were signed.
