Ants are tortured/put into life threatening dangers (like being surrounded by a puddle of water) and the survivors are deemed "Worthy of survival". It's something I've been doing as far back as I can remember.

However, anything larger or possessing more legs scares me and I cannot rest until it has been thoroughly squished beneath a shoe, scraped off into the toilet and flushed.
