that happens to all of us sometimes i believe. if the graphics are intense, then that could be messing up the sync because of lag. try viewing it again with a lower quality.

I'm tweening an MC that I've turned into a single frame graphic symbol. eventually, I want to change the frame that the graphic is stopped on. but when i try to change it (or it's symbol type), it refuses to change and remains a graphic symbol stuck on the same frame. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is?

Well, in many ways, that's a good thing. There's no priming there. People who actually care about the name sometimes will get a predisposition about the game because of the name, whether it makes them think less or more of the game.
