Good Day.
Youre still being ignorant.
We dont know how WX's new full body animations will be BEFORE HES DONE THEM WITH THE NEW TABLET. He gave tom his word, and thats the least thing tom could do for an artist like him who wants to move on.
I understand if you dont favorite him thats cool, but youre still being a bit prejudice about his ambitions. Oh wellllllllllllll asdfghgfdsdf

Yeah thats what ive been doin man. Been doing all that with the old regs and ive picked some new sources of admiration (embrio, threadwood etc). I guess im just really... tired of everything, the frustration that i keep on putting up with the forum. Dont even know if ill be able to recover from my past failures either. Its said that you should practice harder and believe in your work, but im all out of steam on that part.
It's also good for the smaller artists to get together and learn from each other. Newgrounds is pretty good for that sort of thing.
I guess so. The art forum is the place that i grew on. And now im pulling out my roots.
Nice thread to learn from.
Yeah it is. The important thing now is for people to hopefully realize that this is an old thread that was made during that time when i was shattered to pieces. Not like ive become an undrainable force of optimism right now though, im still conflicted. Other than that, this thread sure is full of wise sayings from a range of different artists and this could possibly help anyone out of their hopeless situations.

What the fffffffffffff
im gone for sleep and the next day someone bumps my ollllllllld emo thread. Oh man wow. Just when i was thinking about leaving. Thanks a bunch you guys for getting on the "cheering up Hammi" train lmfao i totally didnt expect anyone to find it again and i appreciate your thoughts a lot, but... ive like... already made my mind because this is no longer a place for someone like me. And now youre here all of a sudden trying to relate to my depression. Maaaaaaaaaan im so conflicted right now... well allow me to kindly answer your posts

And that took you an hour? I dont know what to say... but thanks for trying to set an example. For trying to make me feel better, i appreciate it.

This has developed pretty recently, but it gives me motivation. I really want to be a professional artist when i grow up, so drawing just because i like doing it isn´t enough for me.
I got... i mean i had similar ambitions about becoming better. But it didnt give me motivation to become better, it only spurred more negativity inside me by the thought of everybody surpassing me. Funny thing is, i dont even consider myself as an artist. Not until ive proven myself and everybody around me that i actually can draw better. But the question about when i will get there, has come to a dead end now. Im tired and ravaged. Thanks for sharing your thought though.

Oh Ben you asdfghj
thats so thoughtful of you : >
Hammeister!! Don't despair! The greatest of artists have to start somewhere, your sketches are a hell of alot better than the shit i was throwing down when i first started drawing, like look at this picture! It's crap!
Yeah youre right, everybody gotta start somewhere. And its true, i have improved a lot but... im too tired to strive anymore. My work is still too... bleh. Far from my slightest satisfactory.
Lol @ the picture. You sure got balls to reveal the hidden material just for me. Wow man respect.
You have talent, you just gotta push on through the artists block and go crazy!
I got talent...? So youve really seen my work? I wish it was easy to go crazy, when i dont even like my own work.
I've been drawing for 4 years now (i think) and only started churning out work that i like and feel proud of within the past year, it takes awhile for you to make headway in a direction you like. And as an artist your probably going to dislike alot of your work, even if it's good (i sure know i do). But that'll just make you work harder at getting better!
Yeah i indeed do hate my own work. Theres isnt a single thing im proud of that ive made. Its been like this for 2 years. Ive been pushing myself harder and harder to improve and get better. But in the end it feels like everything ive done hasnt been enough, especially if i dont get the feedback that i need to know which level i am at. At the same time its depressing to know that people are easily taking you on and instructing you like a baby. I cant help it but... defying everything and consider other peoples work as more successive than my work will ever be.
Your probably beyond this but everyone likes some encouragement every now and then.
Yeah i appreciate encouragement a lot even if its an old matter. But i dunno, im sort of on a thin line right now. Ive been preparing on quitting the art forum just recently because ive been thinking that i no longer have any purpose of staying here. A news post will be made soon to fill in the info further about my departure and the reason that im thinking of doing it.
I appreciate a lot that you come in jumping just to cheer me up even if its an old thread. And that means a lot. It shows that you care. Thanks man. :)

In high school, people noticed me for my art, some thinking I might have been the best artist in school. In college, it's not the same since everyone is there to go into some sort of art field, but I still stand out a bit. The future is frightening. I have no idea how I'm going to make a living with what I can offer. I hope I can get a decent job that's somewhat related to what I like, and just keep going online to share my art.
Yeah there are a lot of people who are quite skillful. Art is such a passionate thing, that you just wanna spend your best days on getting better at it and eventually try making it into a living. But then reality hits you. Im striving myself to get a job and make money while i do art... i dunno if im even gonna continue anymore. Things are blurry right now.

(Because I'm afraid he won't take me seriously since we're friends.)
Hm yeah... well one thing is for sure. When people drink till they piss, they let everything flow. Its like opening up a truck full of cushions, or watermelons. Either they will be of pleasant surprise, or outright hurtful depending on where its hitting you. I wouldnt say you got hit in the nuts, but you got rather angry because of the amount of CUSHIONS (not watermelons this time) unexpectedly falling out and its made a mess. Ok ff fuck metaphors, just giving an example of the situation out of the blue. Sorry. I know youre mad at him but oh well, that could happen to anyone. Take Chymo as an example, he was like that on my thread WHILE DRUNK. And i acknowledged it because thats just life... with a lil bit of alcohol. (im not givin you a bad name Chymo! sadffdfddds)
I hope the post doesn't make me look like a total dickhead, because I'm not trying to be that's for sure.
Well since youre saying that openly now, i think he will understand and hopefully wont have any hard feelings. Heh maybe hes even the sort of guy who lives for the moment and probably will put this behind right away.
Thanks Hammi for pointing that out. I'm glad someone showed up to tell me to chill it, because I really shouldn't be that angry. :/
Gah i know its annoying when people suddenly pop up and tell you how to handle a situation as if they were wiser about it, and thats not what i really wanted. I was a bit worried that i was directly interfering in your personal affairs. I saw the word "respect" and i got worried so i wanted to drop off some few words of suggestions, and that in a completely neutral non offensive way. Because i have no right to conclude your conflicts, something that some people do but not realizing theyre firing up things and only make it more complicated.
Wait. Why the fuck did i just rant? fufufufufffasdgs sorry. :x Well i hope i actually did help, otherwise im just a wandering moron.
CHYMO. BABY.
Sorry i havent given ya feedback, just got off my ban. Been watching you so far. Ok now
i absolutely love your Darril Strawberry character. Tasty style. Lovely colors on his overalls and the shoes. I cant even tell if its been done digitally or with pastel/acrylics. Yummy. Or, delicious.
And the Death, awesome pencil concept. Its nicely shaded and thats a very nice twist of your own on the Death. Usually hes depicted as a grim reaper. Very nice pencil use. Keep adding more depth in each drawing you do, theyre turning out quite ace.
And the monastery, it looks quite decent. Have you tried fleshing up from basic shapes like circles and triangles? That would help you keep your concept designs more accurate and sturdier. Im sure you already know all that already like duhhhh, im just putting that out lmao. Also yeah, i agree with Captain-Ben. That man never fails to give crits. Anyways looking ok for a speed paint. Good selection of colors though.
The Hellboy painting, its a bit disproportional. The ear, the eyes, the nose, the cheekbones and err... thats quite a big jaw :O Well i know hes big but that size would make him look like a neanderthaler. You need to move his face more down, as well as the ear and make it (the ear) bigger and long enough to line the top part with his eye brow and the bottom part with his nose tip.
And the recent chimp stencil, its fuckin awesome lmfao. Why the hell am i relating this with W?
Dayum Hellknight goin all out
ok.
That wall of text was pretty dumb yes, but i wouldnt be scolding his drunk ass out if i was you. Hes gonna feel pretty shitty after this... well i dont know your friend now but yah just sayin.

This is for Vousielles propaganda collab 09.
Its a raw-raw version, but I think it is enough to get the overall idea, and in case its too blurry, the marine is touching a bloody teddy-bear :(
Your children may be next...
I still havn't decided if the final text will be like this or should I change it...
For instance, I can't seem to decide between : " Your children may be / are next " & " Our children are dying "
I would scratch the "are next" part. "Our children are dying" sounds a bit melodramatic. Imo the first tag fits perfect.
Nevertheless, I hope I didn't completely dissapoint anyone :/
You? If you were to disappoint, i would be rotting in my grave right now. I think its rather a cool poster, and its almost as if youve revived a concept that ive seen somewhere before. Down to the fact, war is hell. His right thigh though is enormous. Other than that its just a bit sketchy, but thats just normal. Itll be pretty exciting once youve touched it up with colors and such.

Maybe because youre almost through the camp life. CELEBRATIONNNNNN, TONIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT.
Anyhow, I once mentioned Zafirah likes rock. But I never mentioned she can play a (futuristic) guitar, did I?
Now you know.
Wow... how surreal. hhhhhhhh
I wonder if the sound of that guitar would kill me. Looks like shes pretty much into it lmao. Also her pose came out pretty good. Everything looks consistent here. Good job.

I'm both pleased & unpleased of the outcome, but its better than the last, much better. I really hate drawing wings, so they will blody go as they are now, I refuse to meddle with them any longer, it takes a ridicilous amount of time...
Thats one ferocious look right there. I think you should do something about the elbows, they would look more natural if you bent them more back. As for wings, you know how it is with parachutes. It ALWAYS takes time. You will be better for every attempt you make, so keep at it.

The pose was a pain to do, but I guess it ended looking rather good & worked for good practice!
Originaly she was suppoused to have a 'burning drink', but that ended up looking akward, so I went a little more... primal with it.
Only if their scales wasnt fire proof, then POOF.
Its a good pose, very sensual too. The way you position her with her tail hanging over her leg and all is such a tease. Youre supposed to look at HER, then for some reason you follow her tail and the next thing... TRAPPED. One thing though, i cant really follow her white area on her thigh. Also her knees could need some itsy bitsy work. The right one could be more bigger to make it close up.
At 12/5/08 05:57 AM, Fatchaos wrote: Uh oh.
I think I'm all done here for now.
The shading was a pain, but I think I managed to do it at least somewhat right.........
You shouldve added more glow on her body from the fire, before it reaches to her... buttocks area where itll get a lot darker, even around her waist and down under... that pit. You know. Dont make me say it. Other than that, great use of colors as usual.
Sorry for the mature content.
Gee whiz. As if that would come to anyone as a surprise. :O

Sketchbook? As in Sketchbook Pro? I use the same software myself, its such a great program. The best fake pencil settings you can find around, INDEED. Lovely texture quality. :D
And um... well uh... i dunno if youre interested or even into this kind of stuff, but um... could you give Renamon and Ruki a try? Also, here are some more references of Renamon. Do it your style. God i feel stupid requesting this from you. Forgive me, im just a Renamon fan. I want at least one last memorable thing before i fly off. Its up to you if you wanna drop it or give it a try ;)
Do you use ArtRage?
And oh, 20 minutes on that??
Insane. I bow down in your presence.
When youre done with tom, you wouldnt mind if i requested something err... minor? >:J
Im just gonna wait and let you work in peace. Hail.
Thats quite a nose job youve given jigglypoopoo
very nice paint jobs, and good shine
they look pretty cool both of them, thumbs up

I think these are great. And very good hatching, it really reveals the depth on the clothing. Classy. Great colors mmm.
And now, crits. The first pic is quite dodgy imo. The perspective is messed up on the leg there. Its way too slim. Ive also noticed you got a thing for slim legs so i guess you were aiming on that, but this leg still looks weird... for some reason which i cant figure out myself. Either theres something about the thigh or the leg itself got a problem with its knee point or something.
Keep submitting, this stuff is looking very promising. :)
Do we really have to reveal our real names?
Dunno if anyone here will feel uncomfy with that or something. Just sayin.

also naruto fffff
Welcome back to the game Bl00d. Long time no see.
Quite sketchy drawings, but i love the bg color texture though. You should add some more shading/detail under their feet. Well thats just my opinion though, maybe thats how the style is supposed to be.

The shading is very decent, and the way youve worked around it is sort of ok too i guess. I can see a style trying to pop out of this pic. Although i gotta say that the drawing isnt really that great either. You should either try spending more time on it, or at least go and get GIMP or Paint.NET. Remember to variate the thickness of the lines to create a contrast in your drawings. Also depends on if youre using a tablet or just plain using the mouse.
