mistakes are fine. spot the fault, and if you really cant make it look right after several minutes you need to study on that tiny little detail. experience and filling artbooks is important. sketching can take you a long way. just draw draw draw. I don't do real life sketches but my little brother does.with two years on him and much artistic computer experience i was leagues ahead of him. hell when he started drawing i laughed at his sad attempts.
Yeah ive been doing that all the time too. And your brother sure is ambitious.
twenty artbooks later he was doing people sketches that were almost photo realistic. I was blown away by this. his detail and shading was unbelievable after so much dedication. After my extra years and learning ahead of him, he finally overtook me in proffessionalism. now he teaches me things and all i can teach him is how to draw on computers lol.
Ah. If my brother was like that too, i would give him my full support.
The moral is don't give up because people look like they're ahead of you. if anything, seeing better atrworks is a sort of boost. you can see how other people draw so well and this can boost your own skill. I'm sure it's been said two hundred trillion times, and ill say it again. practice practice practice.
Competing with people doesnt boost my motivation anymore. I rather find it frustrating now and it gets me down a whole fuckin lot. Im tired of trying to catch up as if this was a race. I wanna drop everything so i dont need to be depressed anymore.
however your drawing on ur first post sucks. i hope u just quickly scribbled that for the sake of launching the thread.
Thats because that horrible drawing was made in 2007. I hope youve seen the date of that post. This is how far ive come. And i still think it isnt good enough, i wouldve tossed this in a fire place if it wasnt digital.
