Oh yeah, be a little bitch and ask for the music to be turned off, there's a one-way ticket to get-my-ass-kicked-ville. Besides, my math class is in a portable classroom, and I'm not sure what kid of fucked up school you come from, but in mine teachers usually don't like their students waltzing in and out of their class as they please/
If you don't want to tell the teacher in front of the entire class just leave her an anonymous note. She probably has no idea that some students can't concentrate with distracting music playing. Write something along the lines of:
Dear Ms. $%^&
Rather than stating my concerns publicly and risk being stoned by my peers, I've decided to write you this letter. Although I appreciate your efforts to keep the students entertained during math blah blah blah, I, as well as some of my classmates, find it difficult to concentrate while music is playing. I know you have several students to consider when creating the atmosphere of your classroom, but this is what would work best for me: During the instructional portion of class, keep the music turned off. During the independent practice portion of class, turn the music on, but allow students who need silence to sit outside the door. Thank you for considering my individual needs blah blah blah sign your name
