Response to: Are You Proud To Be American? Posted May 26th, 2007 in Politics

i agree. i am proud of what it stands for, but when i, or anyone else, look at it, all they see is just what's going wrong or something negative. but there are also times when i am proud to be an american. so just like you said, it all depends on what is being viewed, and how it is being viewed. but yes, i am proud.

But if I was to leave the country, I would not say I was Canadian, and I would not spell "color" any differently. So I'm definitely not ashamed of it. If people are going to judge because of our douchebag government, fuck them.

i couldnt have said it better myself.

Response to: Videogame Addiction Posted May 26th, 2007 in General

At 5/26/07 02:55 PM, Crashman wrote: First off, do you really believe videogames are addictive? Why or why not?

no i dont, when i think im addicted to a game it only lasts for a certain time. and i dont think you get 'bored' of an addiction.

Do you have symptoms from not playing within a certain time?

if its a new game and i havnt beaten it, then yes. i just keep thinking i have to play and beat it, then once that happens, it kinda just collects dust after that. but other then that, i dont get anxious and start to spasm out or become gittery.

Do you think videogames have any benefits at all or just destructive qualities?

some indeed help out eye-hand coordination. some stuff ive seen people do is just crazy. they can also teach people if they pay attention, such as war games that are centered around real events or people.

but i dont think there are any bad qualities if the person doesnt think they can turn their leisure time to reality. they should know when fantasy stops and reality starts.

Thanks for the answers and time.

sure thing!

Too bad you'd get picked off from a distance & swingin that mace around all day gets pretty exausting. Kinda slow too.

that kinda killed my self esteem...

gah...ok ok. well for some reason they cut off part of the html for the site. but anyway, yeah, you can go to the naval academy and become an officer for the marines. and west point of course just commisions army officers as you know. but if you do go to any of them, good luck and as long as you get past the first year (which is the worst from what i hear from graduates lol) then you should be ok.

Because i was having a dilemma between going to Westpoint or Annapolis.

you can become a commisioned officer in the marines through either ocs (officer candidate school) or the completion of the naval academy. more details here.

forgot to add, you dont need all 4. just 3 to get e-3. they dont want to give away too many promotions too fast. but if you do jrotc and go in the marines...youll go in as an e-2 because an e-3 is an nco and you can be a squad leader. so they dont want an inexperienced person just out of training to have that responsibility.

4 years of njrotc in high school. lol people laughed at us but its worth it. that's like...not a huge difference but more money per pay check. you could have done that or like...sea cadets, and the other 'programs' like that. civil air patrol i think is another also. i've heard those are like jrotc but more hands on and less 'graded' like school work usually is.

Response to: Armed Forces Crew Posted May 24th, 2007 in Clubs & Crews

sweet. for 36 months (i think its around there), that would be quite a good check. but yeah, i know what you mean about getting in shape. im good in everything except running. i could run like no ones business last year but then the summer hit. so that's what i want to work on the most.

but for me, i dont think im going to any schooling, college wise at least. ive realized that college isnt really for me. but one good thing is i start out as a seaman. woot for e-3. so i wont start at the dead bottom. but either way, enlisted or officer, it should be fun.

congrats on graduation. mine was tuesday. and i still havent ran. =(

special armed forces? no you dont have to be in the army or marines. they each have their own special forces. for instance, you have to be in the navy to become a seal, you have to be in the air force to be in their special tactics. and same for the army and their rangers..and so on.

yeah, for some reason, they said it was out of date even though i took it within the 2 year limit. but meh..got a higher score so its not too bad.

But yeah i was aiming for the medic job so i pushed towards the arthmetic problems and now im going to corpsman school after basic. But yeah we will see each other up in chicago.

yeah, ive wanted to go into the seals for a while now and and since ma's deal with more weapons then just shotguns and 9mm, it would help me out for buds. too bad i didnt know that swcc was made into an actual job instead of a secondary one. i would have deffinately have put that as my job. but either way, im still aiming for the seals.

so until then, on to the great lakes!

sweet. i too swore in, in feb. just on the 27. i have a guaranteed master at arms job in my contract, so they cant change that! but it also helps me in the seal program too. i also leave in august xD. just the...27th again. but dep meetings where im at are kinda pointless but ah well. just something you have to do. what was your asvab score? mine was 61 the first time then the bastards at meps made me take it again. but i made it 66 the next.
