Middle School Shooter Gets 30 Years Posted June 14th, 2013 in General

An infamous school shooting took place in Madison, Alabama, in February 2010. The gunman, 14-year-old Hammad Memon, shot 14-year-old Todd Brown in the head, killing him. It took place in the hallways of Discovery Middle School.

Last month, Memon was convicted of murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. After his sentence is over, he will likely be deported back to his native country of Pakistan. Memon could have potentially faced a sentence of 60 years, according to another article.

While the motive of the shooting remains vague, it may have been motivated by gang rivalry. Despite that, the city this killing took place is fairly safe.

School is just a place you should feel safe at. It's a place to build yourself, and a place to learn. Whether it be an elementary, middle, high school, or community college or university, it's just the worst place to hurt or kill somebody. When we hear of school shootings, it definitely makes us feel disturbed.

Do you think Memon deserved the 30 years? Too lenient, or too harsh?

Nope. I dont fear death, period. Death is death. It has its pros and cons in relation to life. Lie has its pros and cons in relation to death.

Death is inevitable. Very true. However it is a shame when your life is cut REALLY short. Let's say you're killed at age 6, 10, 20, or 30. I wouldn't be as upset if I was murdered at age 60 or 70, compared to being murdered as a teenager. However, death is still a part of life and everybody will experience it sooner or later.

Twenty-One is a good age. I agree with it.

Didn't you used to get drunk a lot when you were younger? Not to dig up the dirt on you, but I do remember you posting about incidents of yourself being drunk and biking and getting injured afterward. I'm glad you've changed your ways, though.

However, I definitely agree with you. Most young people are not responsible with alcohol. If anything, there should be a certain type of alcohol with a low alcohol volume allowed for people under 18 or 21, and then the hard liquor should only be for 21 and over.

Naked Man Has Fun In Train Station Posted June 13th, 2013 in General

A man at the Bay Area Rapid Transit system in San Francisco basically went cuckoo and was naked and lashed out in the train station. He was seen trying to touch a woman, who eventually become startled and hid in an employee's booth. The naked man was described by friends as an acrobat performer who was out of character the day, possibly due to anger over a recent situation. After the incident, the man was detained and placed in a psychiatric hospital and charges may be filed.

Either way, this video has gone viral and this man (no, not Redfoo from LMFAO) identified as Yeiner Garizabalo, has pretty much gone off his rocker in the video.

Yes, it looks unprofessional, and yes, you probably look a little bit less respectable than somebody with fitted clothing.
However, people should just be happy and comfortable. If wearing larger fitted clothing makes somebody feel right to themselves, then that's what really matters.

I used to dress in 2XL shirts and baggy pants, that was just my thing, and many other people's as well. I grew out of it after so long, but it was a comfortable way to dress. I never felt restricted.

I agree, it looks a bit unprofessional, but the style makes you look laid back and easy going. It also indicates you probably are a fan of hip hop music, so it might start a conversation for a stranger if said stranger likes rap music. I used to use the style myself, and it is pretty comfortable to wear a nice long T-shirt. As long as people are happy with it, it is good.

You are partially right but people mainly use that style because it's used by many rappers and hip hop artists. Rap and pop are among the most popular music genres in the US, therefore lots of people love the style.

Xxl T-shirt, Baggy Pants Posted June 12th, 2013 in General

XXL T-shirt, baggy pants, backwards hat.

We all know that it originates from hip-hop culture, and we obviously we know that style is popular in ''ghettos'' or low income neighborhoods of cities.

However, now in suburban areas, and even in rural country areas, the style is pretty popular. Many of the middle-class suburban kids I see like to emulate the hip-hop style. Even my friend in small town Maine said the style is pretty popular. What do you think of it? Is it popular in your area? What do you usually call people who dress like that? (The one word that starts with ''w'' that I don't particularly like is used though). I mean, today I saw this one dude who was like 6-foot-5 and skinny, and he wore a long ass white T-shirt with a local rapper printed on it, and a backwards hat and he just looked sooo fucking tall. Intense shit right there.

People say it's douchey, but it really depends on the way you handle the style.

I value everyone's lives accordingly. What I don't value is global hypocrisy.

Well I concur. I do find it a bit hypocritical how the media tried to cause a massive shitstorm about the school shooting. Yes, it was tragic, but there are many young men and women who get shot or stabbed in ghettos during nighttime all across the US. In cities like Chicago, Detroit, the murder rate is roughly 25-45 per 100,000 people each year. Whereas, Newtown and other suburban communities have a murder rate of less than 1 per 100,000 people. Most of the lives claimed in low-income neighborhoods are young males. The Sandy Hook shooting happened in a wealthy suburban community where violent crime is rare.

There are also many people getting killed in other countries. All the acts of terror in the Middle East. Bombings, shootings, etc. are very common out there. They are still human beings. Just because they're not Americans and are living in poor countries, people do not pay attention to them.

However, I found the Boston bombings to be the most blown out of proportion.

Not the point. The fucking country went on a patriotic wankfest over 28 people. While we continue to ignore everything else, like we always do.

I agree with the notion that the country should worry about the citizens that are still here, alive and breathing. However, wouldn't you feel a little scared of walking into a Costco or a movie theater and ending up becoming one of 28 people dead in a mass shooting rampage? You should at least understand why the US wants to at least try to prevent mass murders from happening again. I do agree that the media and the government could have had a better way of handling these violent events that happened in Sandy Hook, as well as the ones that happened in the movie theater in Colorado and the one at Virginia Tech, Fort Hood, etc.

I am pretty sure you don't want these massacres to happen again in our country, or anywhere in the world. It's not just about the individuals that died in Sandy Hook, it's about future individuals who may become another victim of these violent acts.

No offense, but how could you have not heard about that? I mean, I understand what you mean, and it is baffling why somebody would completely deny that a school massacre occurred there at all. If you look on YouTube comments for some Sandy Hook videos, you will see at least one-third or one-half of the comments saying "this was a HOAX. it never happened! it's just Obama trying to ban our guns!" or "fuck the parents of these children, because they're just actors. their kids never died! fuck them!" An example is on the video entitled "Sandy Hook Shooting: Fully Exposed" which has 11 million views, and many of the comments deny that the shooting ever happened. Some people go on hateful rants about the parents of the victims who are being interviewed, and they think they are actors hired by the government.

Also, a college professor from Florida also denied the shooting happened, or did believe that a shooting may have happened but that the casualty number was extremely exaggerated and some of the aspects of the shooting reported to the media are false.

I agree with this statement. It's probably a fraud.

Sandy Hook Massacre, Prevented? Posted June 12th, 2013 in General

On December 14, 2012, the horrific events unfolded in a peaceful town, most of it occurring at an elementary school, where 20 students and 6 staff members died, along with the shooter. The shooter, Adam Lanza, also killed his mother.

We all remember this shooting, even though some people vaguely remember hearing about a mass shooting in an American elementary school where 20 something people died. Some people deny the events, but as for most people, we were definitely upset and saddened about such a tragic event taking place.

The crazy thing is, right before the shootings were reported on the news, I remember watching the Today Show, where Al Roker was on. It was basically an episode summarizing all of the best moments of the Today Show in the year of 2012, and it was so silly, funny, amusing, and fun to watch. A mass shooting at an elementary school, only a mere two hours away from New York City where TTS is recorded, is literally one of the last things you thought would happen after such a happy, joyous program being aired on television. Many people do enjoy the Today Show.

Honestly though, I bet if the shooter had at least one close friend and had somebody to talk to, the shooting would have never happened. 27 families would not be grieving today, and 27 people would be safe and sound in their peaceful, quaint hometown of Newtown. If Adam Lanza had watched a good movie, read a good book, had a good time with a friend, he would have never thought about massacring nearly 30 children and adults in an elementary school. Seriously.

I know it sounds a bit absurd, but even the little things in life can truly help out a person in his or her hard times of life.

"Best Burger in Town"

"Best Burger in Town" Posted June 12th, 2013 in General

Have you noticed many restaurants say they are the "best ____ in town" or the best in the county. For example, there's this diner in my neighborhood that sells burgers, sandwiches, and milkshakes and was closed in 2011 but reopened in 2012 after two people bought it, but still kept the name and concept of the place but slightly altering the menu. They had a video in which one of the owners said "some of my customers tell me that they come up to me and say it's the best burger they've ever had." He also boasted about how, "you're not going to find a better burger in town" in the middle of the video.

Of course I know they are just advertising their product and trying to expose people to the positive feedback they get from their customers, but it is a little odd how multiple restaurants will proclaim that they are the best of a certain type of restaurant, in town. A number of restaurants that sell primarily burgers say "Voted Best Burger in the County" and it is pretty conflicting.

Fuck this, I'm going to stick with fast-food chain restaurants if that's the deal.
