Other than that, it's just a typical summer when many people make new accounts I guess

In fact I currently live in an area where I can't go for a jog without needing to wear a mask. Even more unpleasant during the summer. x_x
Do you have a phobia for pollution or something? Not trying to offend you by saying that, but it sounds like you're very sensitive to it.
I live in Northern California and it's practically free of smog or air pollution. Rarely do I ever see it, even in big cities like San Francisco. Seeing as you live in DC, I'm guessing the air there might get smoggy, but I've heard that Northern Virginia has very clean air.

That's cool. I speak basic Mandarin, but I have a few relatives who live in Hong Kong or Shenzhen who probably speak Cantonese.
I'm assuming you might not miss Hong Kong a lot. I know a few people from there and they didn't like how Hong Kong was too busy, overcrowded, and competitive. They like how the US has a lot more space (obviously) for living. There are many Asian supermarkets and stores in the US now so they feel comfortable with that.

I know, right? I want clean air, how extreme of me. ;)
Well, I guess that is true. They are going through a big haze there.
Keep in mind, Singapore is a developed country just like the US. It is very clean with an almost nonexistent violent crime rate. The haze in Singapore isn't really just Singapore's problem, but Southeast Asia's problem in general. Singapore doesn't have a lot of problems with air pollution in general.

Anyway, I think Trayvon and George were both making bad decisions and it turned into an unfortunate mess. It's just a stiatuin that needs to be avoided. Life is like that, though.

Actually there is a half-black kid who I've met who lives in my neighborhood. I found his YouTube profile and he commented on a video calling a black guy in the video a "fuckin coon." I was like, "that's strange because he's black too." Now that I realized that, now I know why. Thanks.

Do you speak Cantonese? I've never been to Hong Kong, but China is a somewhat interesting place to be, but just way too hectic, obviously. Not a laid back to place to live in at all. Maybe you would like Mongolia, which is a pretty laid back Asian country with a lot of nice scenery and architecture, and pretty Asian women.

I'm sure most of us are aware about it. He did the speech last week.
Yes, he may have been stirring the pot, but what Obama said was what many American citizens wanted to hear. Some say he added fuel to the fire, some say he was just being honest. I don't think there is solid evidence proving that the Trayvon Martin shooting was racially motivated, or if Trayvon was racially profiled at all, so I don't think it was really necessary for Obama to have brought up race. No matter what Trayvon Martin's color of skin or race was, it was a tragedy and many young people of all races die from shootings, stabbings, drugs, car accidents, and suicides.
It is really stupid to say things like that, and it should be taken seriously. When I was younger I used to joke around about a school shooting when I was 16 (I was an angsty ass back in the days) and the police had to talk to me about it. However, if anything, this kid should receive some counseling, but not prison. There was no evidence of him planning the attack, and it was merely a vague threat, so he was not planning to commit a deadly shooting spree.

Asian countries (including the Middle East) generally have strict laws and policies. Name me one Asian country that doesn't. Singapore is just another one of them. However, I agree corporal punishment can be very cruel.

I'm sure most of us remember the Cat in the Hat movie, which starred Mike Myers. It was directed by Bo Welch, and edited by Don Zimmerman, which are both notable names in Hollywood. I'm sure most of us were rather young when it came out, in 2003. I was 10, and I believe I first saw it when it first came out on DVD.
Many people said it sucked. Some think that it is a disgrace to Dr. Seuss. A friend of mine considered it "nightmare fuel." However, the movie features a few funny jokes by Mike Myers, and some decent acting from Alec Baldwin, Kelly Preston, and Dakota Fanning. The effects in it were interesting, and you have to admit the movie itself was very colorful. Every scene was filled with fluorescent colors and everything was happening so quickly at once, as if I just snorted a bunch of Pixie-sticks and drank a large cocktail of Mountain Dew with melted Cabbage Patch Kids.
Also, the movie ended with Smash Mouth's track Hang On.
Overall, it was an interesting and unforgettable movie. No, it was not a masterpiece, but it kept me entertained. 5/10.
What did you think of it? Did you think it sucked, or did you love it, or were you indifferent to it?

I did mention in my post that possession of a certain amount of marijuana can warrant up to 10 years in prison. Trafficking or smuggling at least 500 grams can get you the death penalty.

Most Asian people like to live there, though.
But I agree, the death sentencing and caning punishments are looney. Definitely makes me a bit intimidated. Not to mention, homosexual intercourse is illegal in Singapore and you can face several years in prison too.
Last year my cousin moved to Singapore for college right after she turned 18. She seems to like it there, and she even decided to stay in Singapore, where my aunt also lives. She lives in a beautiful neighborhood called Ang Mo Kio.
Singapore is a country of 5 million residents in Southeast Asia. Its official languages are English, Mandarin Chinese, Tamil, and Malay. It is a very multicultural country and you can find food that represents all Asian nations and most of the world's nations in general. If you're not interested in that, then there is also McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Subway, and Baskin Robbins.
It is one of the safest countries in the world, and the laws for crimes there are strict.
However, some people don't agree with all of the laws and policies of Singapore. Chewing gum is illegal there, even though the law may not always be enforced. However, if you spit gum on the sidewalk or stick it somewhere other than a trash can, you will definitely get punished.
You can get caned if you commit a serious offense. Serious cases of vandalism, assault, drug possession, and burglary can warrant caning to your lower end. Also, don't even bother trying to find or smoke marijuana in Singapore. You can face up to 7 years of prison for simple marijuana possession. Trafficking or selling over 500 grams of marijuana can warrant a possible death penalty. It is not hard at all to do something in Singapore that will allow you to get executed for a long prison sentence, so do not commit a "serious" crimes.
Would you live there?
