For doodles they are very good looking!
Could be used as linear drawings in a book - they would make great illustrations me thinks!

Grendel is anorexic yet muscly at the same time?

Your work on the bird and the portrait and otters is amazing! I really like how you cleaned up the bird to make the background effective - a great job!

The monster thing is still very thin, to say the least...

Response to: Behold! It's Birdman! Posted February 9th, 2009 in Art

Well, thats some nice concept art but... needs to elaborated just a tinsy bit...

It could work as a little balck and white short animation but, yeh... bird man needs some help with this features particuarly that birds have tails, and wings, and aren't furry (its called feathers) and dont usually have feathers on there legs (i once saw a chicken that completetly covered come to think of it but hey...)

Could be a good piss take of hero cartoons - with a good script i spose

Just moochin'

Really nice shading on the first one
The second wasnt so nice but was still good
The third was nice but wasnt so effective for some reason, ic ant pinpoint what though...

Maybe luigi's leg could join to his foot a bit more and he could have non-rubber bones...?

Response to: Rate This Eye Drawing Posted February 8th, 2009 in Art

Well, i'd give it a 7 'cos the pupil is completely dark - it also has hi-lights but the iris has too many hi-lights in it

Also, it is darker nearer the lids, try make it a bit more dark on the irs as you go down, maybe the line that the upper lid goes upto is too high and angular - its more flat than that

Response to: d3rail3d Art Blips Posted February 5th, 2009 in Art

I was thining, if the colours are bland on the character - why not make the background crazy and hectic?

Just my thoughts....

Otherwise they are really nice works, i might investigate this so called 'painter'

Response to: First Tablet drawing + artrage Posted February 5th, 2009 in Art

Nice stuff, I especially like the curly effects you use - could develope into a pretty original style

I would make the trees and grass darker a little and the moon could have more of a glow around it - otherwise thats some funky work - i want moar!

Response to: Raveninsky's Official Art Thread Posted February 4th, 2009 in Art

I'd agree about getting rid of the space-ship fetishes they're nice and well made but get a bit repetitive to people who aren't into star trek and that sort

Really nice stuff, as i say - the cartoons are far more impressive to me than the 3d modelling things but it is all impressive - just stick away from robots and space and futuristic things instead and as some up said, a cityscape would be awesome, even a futuristic one...

Really great stuff but i prefer the more traditionally artistic styles and cartoony stuff to the mecha/anime types

Please keep updating!

Response to: Ornery's Art Thread Posted February 3rd, 2009 in Art

Your stuff is wowzy. I likes.

Best piece so far has got to be the bottles - it looks so much like a photo.
Even the paintings aren't bad at all - they could be classed as stylistic

I dunno if you'd take requests but if you did a scene from the moon looking down on the earth like the NASA usuals in your chalks or pastel and maybe adapt it a bit it could be very nice and effective!

Love your work - keep 'em coming

Response to: First time posting Posted February 3rd, 2009 in Art

You got some really nice stuff here - i'm no good at fine linear drawings but i prefer your last few to the monstery things - the cartoony style is far more appealing to the general public in my opinion

:that is just me though

Response to: PermaBaked art thread Posted January 25th, 2009 in Art

Nice stuff but either make your lines bolder or add a little bit of colour

It can be quite hard to see - also, maybe stick to linear as your stuff may look better without shading

I really like your guns you've drawn, they're really nicely done
You have great skill with isomtretric and perspective but the only reservation is the anatonmy again
Other than that! Wow - i can't draw cartoons like that, only with pencils!

Wow, if it has a decent story line, that could be one great animation... i really like the style!

I stand in awe.
The first time i've been through your thread but but each page had great quality art.
I can draw and shade but i suck with paint - maybe i will have to invest in a tablet and something better than Photoshop LE 5.0! My favourite has to be the book cover though - better than most ones i see in the shops 'cos for once, it would actually make me want to buy it!

Maybe if we could get a list of all of the stories that are and aren't taken yet? If anyone has a story and would like me to do the art for it can you please contact me? For examples you can check the link in my signature and my submission for the pet art contest here http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1012 692/6

I have a fairly weird story, its a horror i wrote for school, you can see that if you want...
Im not sure it would be a good story to draw for as i dont even understand some bits are it is quite disturbed... although i could kinda write my thoughts on it, also - will the story be displayed with the art on the final submission as i could try for a bit of art aswell....

Response to: [talk] Perfect Pet Art Contest Posted January 12th, 2009 in Art

I was kinda wondering... do you have to use colour atall? and do i have to mutate it, i have an awkward looking chicken but its just dodgy looking not mutated - plus i dont have photoshop. as for the post with the shrimp thingy... wow thats quality!

But what about the people who would come back? Maybe there wouldnt be enough of them to be worthwhile but still - would be nice to introduce new peeps..

I see what you're saying but what about people who can't be an active part of NG apart from collabs or are still learning flash etc. this could be their 'Open Gate to Newgrounds'. Still, fair enough...

Response to: New at Newgrounds? Preposterous! Posted January 6th, 2009 in Art

I like the first one better than the others too... he looks stoned or summing.
I've covered my hand in drawings before but never my arm, took ages to wash off :P

One thing that did bother me this year is having entries with 0 latest submissions. I will definately NOT allow anyone with nothing to offer NG to be in this time.

I am still new to NG - i can draw decently (my own opinion) i have tried flash etc. but $700 is too much for me to pay (im still in school). I would love to get into the sketch-book and produce something decent but i am pretty useless at animation so have nothing the flash portal, i would contribute to the audio portal but do cannot find a decent program to write music. Could we maybe still get in the sketchbook...? You may say no, and in that case i will try and get something in before the deadline.

About choosing people, could you ask them to provide links to previous works online maybe so you may see their drawing standard, and if they are decent enough maybe you can include them. Maybe this would be too much work so in that case, get some helpers or just ignore my ideas!

I think art collabs would be the main way i could get into the portal as submissions of 3 pictures, would not really be that popular to be honest. Also, has anyone got any scoring programs for music that are free, i wanna have a try at them...
