After seeing the Autobahn during WWII, Eisenhower thought the Americans could something like it. It wasn't thought up by the Nazis though. Construction on it was started before they came to power. The Nazis did however speed up and expand the idea, as it was easier to transport military equipment on it.

I always carry a pocket knife with me wherever I go, but I wouldn't use it as a weapon unless I absolutely had to. If I'm in the woods on my own or a friend's land, I probably have my shotgun with me, so I'd use that.
