No true, all but two episodes of the OVAs are adaptations of manga stories.

Though in the same style and art direction, Black Jack 21 certainly feels darker but at the same time does not leave out breathers for younger fans. But hey; a medical story turning into something out of a James Bond Final Hour event makes the Epic Doctor Story all the more enjoyable.

Yeah, 21's globe-trotting action/mystery twists make it quite the fun show.

Meh, when I think about it, it's not too big a deal that it's no longer being translated since the ending is no doubt similar or identical to the anime's and the plot isn't particularly interesting (I really can't see myself reading six more volumes of boobs and swimming and enjoying it as much as the first three).

If I was going to request anything be scanlated, it'd be Kaiji since it got dropped after a mere handful of chapters and it's got a much more engaging story.
