Buy game source codes Posted July 7th, 2013 in Where is / How to?

I'm looking to buy an advanced game source code so i can just add graphics and modify the current ones.
Is there a website that has GOOD game source codes?
I found a few but they are the most simplest games humanly possible made in about 5 minutes.

Sorry i didn't make it clear enough. I was meant to say i would pay $30 for 5 artists. So I'm paying 5 people $30 each.
Still not much. But It's better than nothing right?

@ Threadwood, I'm sorry you feel that way and I'm sorry for my reply i was a bit annoyed that day.
Yes I'm not paying much for a number of artworks. It was more like, first come first serve, the first 5 artists to submit work for me would get the commisions, I badly explained what i was hoping for in the first post.

Also i hope your not put off by the works of Vantage Comics, I produce the comics but in no way does my behaviour effect the artwork that some of the amazing artists I've had the chance to work with. Hopefully you can look past the 'producer' exterior and see the artwork for what it is. Again, I'm sorry for my unprofessional-ism.

I hope your trolling... Yes i have done this before, i have produced, wirtten and directed 3 full comics of which i have put over multiple thousands of pounds/dollars of my own money into funding. The kickstarters are a mere way of raising funds to print them. My last comic 'REBOOT' got over 1,000 pounds to print and had over 100 copies purchased.
But yes, thanks for your lecture.

Also, I'm not looking for artists 'to do the work for me', im looking for artists to use some god damn imagination and take a very simple premise of two characters and add their own auteur/flair to them and add a style or enviroment.
But if none of you can muster up any imagination i guess i will have to go elsewhere to find some artists to do 5 drawings that i only need to show on a kickstarter.
Im not looking for you to do my work and come up with the next style for the comic, im just looking for some commisions.

Never question someone and lecture someone who is willing to pay you for your art work.

Just one view.

Money for multiple commisions! Posted April 29th, 2013 in Art

A few years ago i started a project which would potentially be a multi-artist continuation story.
The first comic was illustrated by Newground popular artist, Shadling/Shadman.

The intention was to have each comic issue illustrated by a different artist in a different styled world and different themes, but always with the same two characters.

What I'm looking for is around 5 artists to do their own alternative version of the two main characters.
Doesn't need to be flashy with any backgrounds, just a character concept, something for me to ponder over and wonder where the characters can go next.

I can pay $30 per picture, but will only be choosing 5 pictures.
So this is sort of a competition.
Rules:

1. You must have a paypal address.
2. The drawing must only display the two characters, no one else.
3. It must be of high quality and your own work, no photographs of drawings, digital work only.
4. You must upload the work on NG in the art portal under 'Noncommercial' so that i may display it on websites such as 'kickstarter.com' and 'Vantagecomics.co.uk'

You can find artwork from the comic and drawings of the characters here:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vantagecomics/final-boss -comic-issue-1

Deadline is May the 12th!
Please post questions here.
4.

Comic writers required! Posted November 22nd, 2012 in Writing

Dear writers of Newgrounds,

For the past few years I've been commissioning artists from all over the web to create comics using scripts and storyboards that i've written. You can find the stuff I've done so far here: www.vantagecomics.co.uk

For my next big project i want to create an anthology of spooky/eery twilight zone styled short stories. I have already written a 4 page story which is being drawn up by an artist as we speak.

What i am looking for from you is a series of different stories so that the anthology has more depth and range of story styles.
So contact me via PM and let me know if your interested.

What will i get if i write a story for you?
When the comic is finally printed (sometime late next year) you will be posted a comic, free of charge.
You'll have your name on a physical comic, impressive! These comics are also being sent to comic publishers and may even have the chance of being professionally published, so it's a great way to get your work out there, even if it is just writing credit.
I also hand out completed comics at comic conventions, so even more coverage for your work!

Seeking comic orientated article! Posted September 9th, 2012 in Writing

Hi, to put it short: I'm currently producing a number of comics.
The site im using is a wordpress and I'm writing a production blog to document the production of the comics etc.

Thought it would be fun to have comic themed articles written by a number of writers.
Topics that are generally interesting, about anything in the geek/comic world.

Let me know if your interested!

Name your button "myButton" and put the code into frame 1 (or a document class if you have one).

Then replace "trace("The button..." with whatever code you want the button to execute (gotoAndStop(2) for example).

Ah, apologies then.
I've put this into frame one.

Only problem i have now is the timeline control is going crazy, just playing through the two frames.
How do i stop the first frame?

Like the guy said above, the code i know is 10 years old.
There's no use trying to explain it to me. And it really isn't worth learning AS3 just to apply code to a single button.
The code in the picture you posted doesn't make any sense to me either.

I'm just going to assume no one is going to help me. I sound rude, but just being honest.
And I'm sorry that the flash community of NG couldn't help with just a simple frame switching button.
Back in my dad it was on release, go to frame lol. No problem.
Just sayin.

lol, hey im still annoyed that Adobe bought flash from Macromedia :P
old school baby.

Any chance you could give me a quick explanation as to how i can do this then?

All i want is two frames, both need to stop.
A button at the bottom to navigate the 2 frames.

ok wtf.

All i want to do is put a simple go to frame and stop in this button, but it won't let me enter any AS in it at all?
I only really know AS1 so I've set it to that, but even with AS2 or AS3 it won't let me enter anything.

Whats going on? All of a sudden you can't put AS in a button?
What am i missing? How am i meant to do this?

Legalities of owning someones work Posted July 29th, 2012 in Art

I need some help.
I've comissioned a lot of artists recently. I know this isn't the best place to ask, but thought I'd ask around a few sites.

I need to know what forms i need to get artists to sign, to say that i own the work and have paid for it and can then sell it on if i want to.

I know of release forms, but thats just for you havign the rights to display their work.

Any ideas?

Not bad at all. That's the beauty of flash, you get these nice clean vector images.

Yea, i love it. It's just a shame you can't get the 'fine art' styled work with brush marks etc.

Just whacked this up in Flash.
Wanted it minimalistic but less cartoony looking so removed all the lines and just kept the coloring.

Art in Adobe Flash? Posted July 22nd, 2012 in Art

I've used flash since the early 2000s back when it was Macromedia Flash.
I feel massively comftable using it to draw or edit images.

I know for a fact that Adobe Photoshop is better at creating and modifying images, the only problem is i have less than a few hours experience using it and i know it would take weeks or months for me to get the hang of it and be able to create something decent.

I'm just wondering how many of you use FLASH to create art or drawings and know any neat tricks that are useful at making images look good that photoshop could do but flash doesnt.
