Watched Sweet and Savage last night, which is the final entry in the "Savage" trilogy, made up of Savage Man, Savage Beast, This Violent World, and this one. While not as good as the previous two, it is still good.

My review, as shown on IMDb.com

I remember picking up the "Grindhouse Experience" movie pack, and popping in the first film of the notorious "Savage" trilogy, "Savage Man, Savage Beast". If you read my review for that film, it can easily be said that I had to see more. I ended up ordering "This Violent World" online, and it too was excellent. I soon felt the need to watch the final film, and come full circle. Having finally seen it, these are my thoughts.

The film opens with shots of penguins nestled together, with an excellent score accompanying it. We are then introduced to Mike Gunn, shooting at land mines to prevent local wildlife from stepping on them. This man appears throughout the film, and is by far the best part of it. To show contrast, we are shown antelopes being blown apart by said mines. After this, we are introduced to some dolphins and their trainers. Once again, this is juxtapositioned with the image of Japanese fishermen killing dolphins. This is a truly disturbing bit. Contrasts of this nature are displayed for about twenty minutes, then there are brief segments on human murder and dismemberment. A man gets his arm ripped off by a truck, dead bodies are fed to vultures, and a stuntman falls to his death.

The second half of the film focuses on more pleasant matters: Mike Gunn is shown playing with cheetahs, a quadriplegic is helped out by a trained monkey, dancing rituals are shown, and a few bits and pieces from "Savage Man, Savage Beast", and "This Violent World" are shown, with different narrations than previously.

Both parts of the film have some truly disturbing footage, as well as some truly heart-touching scenes. That being said, I do have a few complaints: Picture quality: Looks like ass. But this is thanks to the fact that this is only available in bootleg form, to my understanding. The filmmakers are not at fault.

The fact that the film feels like it's been split into two halves actually injures it somewhat. The film is supposed to show a contrast between the sweet and the savage, which while accomplished to a degree here, would've worked much better if they spread out the violent footage, as there would be more and better contrasts. Instead, the first half is all: "Look over there, someone's dying" and the second half is all: "Look over there, people are having fun" without proper contrast.

All in all, while it doesn't hold a candle to the films that preceded it, it still manages to be a solid entry into the mondo genre, and makes a good conclusion to the "Savage" trilogy.

I also watched another mondo flick, called Africa Ama, which was excellent, but I don't really feel like reviewing it right now. Also watched Goodbye Uncle Tom, the last documentary by Jacopetti and Prosperi(in colaboration, Prosperi later worked with Climati and Morra on the "Savage" trilogy). While not a mondo film, it is still an excellent film about slavery in the pre-Civil War south.

Obama wants to take our guns away, ban violent video games(from what I've heard, I could be wrong), and is all-in-all promising much more than one can deliever. They're both douchebags. I'm a little iffy about Bob Barr too, but he still seems worlds better than the other two. If Ron Paul is infact still running, then I support him above all.

Topic: Add Your Aristocrats Joke!(nsfw)

Posted: 09/02/08 09:45 PM

We all know about the "Aristocrats" joke, the dirtiest joke ever. What you're to do is tell us your own version of the joke. I'll start, for example, and for kicks:

A talent agent is sitting is office. A mother, father, son, daughter, and dog walk in(With a filled up garbage bag, which will be used later) and say: "Sir, we have this great act lined up, and would love for you to sign us!" The talent agent says, "Okay, let's see what you've got".

The family gets right into it. The son presses play on a boom box, and "It's Rainin' Men" starts playing. The family then gets completly nude, and the daughter starts sucking off the dog, while the father fists the son, and the mother pisses all over them. Just as the dog cums, the daughter pulls out and has the dog jizz on her tits. The mother proceeds to lick all of it off, and then they start scissoring. The son then starts taking the dog from behind while the father licks out his asshole. Due to relaxed muscules, this causes the son to shit all over the father, who chews whatever gets in his mouth. Then, the daughter puts on a strap-on dildo and takes the son from behind, while the mother starts breastfeeding the father. Then, the father starts sucking off the son. As he cums, he accidently shoots his load into his father's eye, momentarily blinding him. Then they all start shitting all over the grandmother, who's dead(her body parts were the contents of the garbage bag). They then grab random body parts and start fucking them. Then, the father, mother, and son all paint swatztikas on their chests with shit while the daughter paints a Star of David on hers. The family then starts beating the daughter until she's dead. Then, the bash her skull in until the brain is exposed. The son starts fucking her brains while the father uses the head for fellatio. After they both cum, the father slathers his dick in peanut butter and has the dog suck him off. It turns out the dog was hungry and the dad ends up getting his dick bit off. The dog soon chokes to death on the severed member. The mother then takes the strap-on off her daughter's corpse, puts it on, and fucks the father's bloody stump where his cock was. Then "It's Rainin' Men" stops playing, and "Make 'Em Laugh" begins. The family then procceeds to do the whole dance number that goes along with it, titties and dicks all flapping about covered in blood and shit and cum, and then as the song ends, they run to middle of the room and yell "TA-DAH!"

The talent agent justs sits there or the longest time. Finally, the talent agent takes a napkin, and wipes some of the blood and shit that got on his suit off. He says, "That's an interesting act, what do you call it?"

The family looks and him, and all say in unison, "The Aristocrats!"

The most disturbing movie I've ever seen is "August Underground's Mordum". I had to watch it in installments, and I don't think I want to experience it ever again. Maggots are eaten off of a dead baby, a dead child gets fucked, a guy is forced to cut off his own dick, and other horrific things. I might check out the other two films in the series though, as I hear that they're actually MORE disturbing while being quite a bit more restrained.

Also, I found the original 1974 "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" to be quite scary as well.

I'm not as worried about who'll play Dr. Frank-N-Furter, as much as I'm concerned about the character of Riff-Raff. Richard 'O Brian did a flawless performance of him, and would be impossible to top. When I told my mom about this remake, she was shocked(a rarity when it comes to this sort of thing), and said, "Well it's going to be awful! They're going to totally slaughter it!". Furthermore, I've even seen the teen demographic that usually loves remakes is telling MTV to cut that shit out. When the audience you and your whole network are trying to appeal to tell you to fuck off and cut that shit out, YOU FUCK OFF AND CUT THAT SHIT OUT.

It's a darn shame really. While I bought American Psycho for the same reason you bring up(and the fact that I had seen the movie before), and even though it was was first Ellis novel, it also proved to be my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but I actually like the film a bit more. People really should read his other works. Less Than Zero is my favorite novel of his. And The Rules of Attraction is excellent too, and here's something interesting about it for the "American Psycho" fans: Patrick Bateman's brother, Sean, is one of the main characters in it. Not only that, but Patrick even gets his own chapter where he narrarates, though it's never implied that he is a serial killer.

This man is a fucking genius. With the exception of "First Blood", I have never read novels that feel not like books, but like experiences. The characters are oh so real, and the books retain a tone of being incredibly dark while similtaniously having a comic and satirical edge to them.

BEE is the author of six books: Less Than Zero, The Rules of Attraction, American Psycho, Glamorama, The Informers, and Lunar Park. I've only read the first three, and I am in the process of reading LP, but I will see to it that I read the other 2 ASAP.

Less Than Zero, The Rules of Attraction, and American Psycho currently have film adaptions, and an adaption of The Informers is coming out later this year. Next year, a film adaption of Lunar Park.

Has anyone else read this man's brilliant work?

Anyone who thinks this is missing the point of "The Boondocks" completly. It is a satire on black America, and generally, satire requires the material to imitate the style of what it is commenting on/parodying. See "Natural Born Killers" for an example of this.

And for the record, the show's creator hates B.E.T.

Really, we've just cracked the surface that was meant for the original comics but was deemed too much. Really, 10 years of editing your ideas will definitely leave the writers at least 4 good seasons of this show.

I agree with everything this man just said. Seriously, I fail to see how anyone could hate it. Even before I thought it was funny(After awhile, I started seeing the humor in it), I loved it for it's sharp, intelligent satire on black America.

The comics are hilarious too. Uncle Ruckus is a bit more restrained in them, and is actually funnier as a result.

I've checked out quite a few films recently.

"Night of the Bloody Apes" is a hilarious gore film from the 1960s. The plot revovles around a man trying to find a cure for a terminal illness his son has. He ends up deciding to transplant his son's heart with that of a gorillia(who is clearly a guy in an ape suit, classic). However, things go awary when his son transforms and goes on a killing spree. Packed with nudity, hilarious dialogue, and GORE GORE GORE, you cannot go wrong with this. 10/10

It's companion, "A Feast of Flesh" however, was anything but. At a mere 70-something minutes, it drags. Not much goes on throughout. The plot is about a cult leader stabbing chicks with a syringe or something, I dunno, I had a hard time paying attention. 3/10

Also checked out the first 6 episodes of the Showtime series, "Dexter". It's awesome, and actually a bit better than the books.

Saw "The Undertaker and His Pals" today as well, which came with a 4-pack called "Flesh Feast(more on that later). The plot her is nothing paticularly new. It's about two guys who run a resturaunt and their undertaker friend going around chopping up women and using their body parts to serve at the resturaunt ala "Sweeney Todd". The two things that are slightly different though are these: One of the resturaunt owners wants to be a surgeon. While this is probably just filler, it's mildly amusing. Also, the undertaker takes advantage of the victims' families by overcharging for funerals. It also contains a fair bit of gore in it, especially for 1963, and would make a good double-bill with "Blood Feast". My only issue with this film is the humor. What made films like "Blood Feast" hilarious is that the humor was unintentional. Here, the humor is not only intentional, it's also rather stupid and juvinille. 7/10

Also, that "Flesh Feast" 4-movie pack I got today has "Slave of the Cannibal God"(in it's 94-minute version, retaining most of the gore), "The Severed Arm", "I Eat Your Skin", and "The Undertaker and His Pals". It's only available online, but it's only $10. I recommend it.

Well no, "they" didn't do that. "Superhero Movie" was made by completly different people than Jason and Aaron, and if I'm correct, the people behind "Airplane!" worked on it. And it's a much better film because of it.

NOT SO GOOD.

First off, my parents are trying to block my access to horror films. Fortunatly, they've been quite inconsistent about it. I'll be watching horror again in no time.

I'm at my cousin's house, and thanks to no locks on the computer room door, obtaining porn is incredibly difficult. My ability to keep track of time has also been completely decimated due to a lack of clocks. Despite this, I am having a pretty good time here with my cousin though. We saw "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" at the greatest movie theater I've ever been to! It turns out that they're having a B-movie marathon from August 7-October 31st. I wish I could be here on the 30th, because they will be showing CANNIBAL FUCKING HOLOCAUST ON THE BIG-ASS SCREEN. "Hellboy II" was pretty good, by the way. "The Dark Knight" was also badass.

But I'm beginning to digress. I just finished up reading "Dearly Devoted Dexter" which was a tremendous improvement over the first book. It was disturbing, funny, and interesting.

And by the way DemonCole, once a member always a member. Group veterans should be exempt from the test. Furthermore, I never actually saw this guy causing any problems. Sorry, you're amesome and all, but I will always have loyalty to the old gang.

Now, when I say "watching films", I don't mean homemade videos, that would defeat the purpose of Youtube. I mean actual full-length films, which had the backing of studios. You see, "Riki Oh: The Story of Rikki" is on Youtube. It's also on my Netflix queue. Now, I want to watch it as quickly as possible, but don't want to break the law/the 8th Commandment. So I was wondering, is it against the law to watch them?
