I need some voice actors for a couple of upcoming projects.
I've been doing commissions for the last 5 months, which has been lame, and I'd like to stretch my wings and make something slick, funny, and enjoyable!
I need both female and male actors for a range of roles,
shoot me a PM or post your audition example here and I'll get back to anyone I like :)

I've actually already 'liked' you on facebook, and I'm subbed to your youtube channel :) great to see you here on the site.
I'd recommend uploading all your work here over a period of time, newgrounds isn't the page-view powerhouse it used to be but you're guaranteed to get a couple thousand extra views here.
Love your work, keep on trucking

If you can, get back if you have any question.
How much is your budget, / time-frame / deadline / storyboard / maybe write a full project brief?

That's really interesting, have you ever tried working out how much you're getting paid by hour? Like estimate h, ow long it will take you then divide until you get pounds per hour, because then it's easier to work out how comfortable you are with the payment.
Occasionally I do, and I've done that enough times to know that as a general rule of thumb I tend to work for less than minimum wage, but at this stage in my career I am still very green so every bit of work I take on is predominately building a strong portfolio so that I can eventually approach studios.

The animation is at it's minimum and is mostly focused on teaching Hiragana and Katakana, bigger animation projects takes obviously longer to make and less frequent to do.
My question here is, is it worth it for me to upload those educational animations here? Surely I won't beat the, fart, sexual or just parody animations, so, is it worthy?
It only takes 2 minutes to upload something to newgrounds, you may only get 4k views here and 20k on YouTube, but what's the logic in limiting the amount of exposure you get? Surely having your content on as many outlets as possible is the best option. Plus the feedback you get here will be a lot more technical &/ helpful than the comments you get on yt

It will vary on a couple of things, like the complexity of the storyboard and how experienced the animator is.
I know that Jazza charges around $500 - $3000 per minute, but he's definitely at the higher end of the scale.
Personally I quote on a case by case basis, and take into account a few of the factors like how long will it take me to finish? Will I be getting any exposure for this project? and do I like the music?
I'm just finishing up on a metal music video that's about 3 minutes long and I charged £750 (around $1200) although tbh I feel like I should have charged more because it has taken me months to finish :(
Hope this was helpful!

What do I change the saturation level to? When I change it now all I do it make the MC more colourful!

That sounds interesting, yeh I still have the .swf intact. How would I decompile it?

I guess I've learnt my lesson with regards to back ups, I'm still not out of hope for finding a way around it this time though. I've downloaded a file recovery programme and am doing a scan of my C: drive as we speak.
Here's a screenshot of the problem in case anyone still has any ideas -
I have a problem, help me newgrounds!
So basically, I'm working on a music video for a client, and the file I've been working on has somehow been corrupted / lost.
It was working flawlessly yesterday, and then I go to open the file this morning and I get the following message -
"An error occurred opening file "C:\Sam\Documents\Animation\Stateofdecay\2minute_sod2"
The .fla I have has shrunk from presumably being around 30,000 kb - 40,000 kb to just 1kb, so something clearly has gone wrong with the file when it last saved.
I'm so upset, because there's a good 3 - 4 days work in that file and now I can't seem to find where the original file has gone!
I've tried everything I know how but I'm not very tech savvy in this area, hopefully someone on here has had these problems in the past and you might be able to point me in the right direction :(

wow, you really know how to wet an animator's appetite :P
just as a rough guide, most freelancers will charge around $600 - $3000 per 1 minute of animation depending on complexity of the storyboard.
Here's a basic guide for the mouth shapes for lip syncing

I'm really not a football fan generally, but this world cup has been fantastic to watch. The most goals scored in any world cup (technically it ties with 1998 at 171 goals, but still), exciting football, drama and the unexpected :)
All congratulations due to Germany. I hope everyone else enjoyed it too :)
I think the sad thing is that in this day and age the media will make mincemeat of any politician who expresses some spontaneous original conviction instead of regurgitating a pretested talking point that toes the party line.

Learn through imitation, watch a lot of cartoons and think 'how did they do that?' 'how would I go about doing that?' and just animate. Practise practise practise. You don't get any fitter by reading about push ups.
that being said -
drawwithjazza - he's alright for a really basic primer, personally I don't think his style is very advanced.

your dumb at flash with jonnyutah
animator's survival kit (incredible content)
need any more advice hit me up with a PM :)
I'd recommend the free 30 day trial of flash to see if you enjoy animating, then decide whether or not to buy it. Toonboom is good too but it's a little harder to use than flash in my opinion.
As for tablets, I'd recommend anything by bamboo. I've used their products for many years and they are pretty much industry standard, they have products at a range of prices so you won't have to break the bank to own one. Even one the the lower end models will still be a huge improvement on using a mouse.

It looks like you are changing the alpha in separate graphics / movie clips, what you need to do is break the character down into a single movie clip and then change the alpha on that
