for electronic, you can use whatever synth as long as you know how it works to get the sound you like. For orchestral i use sampletank ( here is a little big something i did with it http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/531315)

I fell in love with Zebra 2, nice basslines and the delay synths i can make is amazing, full of opportunity in my opinion, i also use massive and fm8

I got some alesis ones for about $100 the pair at guitar center and they do justice for the price i paid, sound was really muddy at first but after the break 3 hours they started sounding boss, but lack some bass tho

I would like to add, get some studio monitors or some good studio headphones because most headphones have bass boost so it sounds alright on the headphones but on the speakers, the bass is non-existent. Also check your sounds dont peak and if you actually get to mastering soon, leave some space for the mix wich is lowering the volume by 20db most of the time, then on the mix you raise it with a limiter without making it peak as it would with just the volume.

INTP, most of my music is on soundcloud but the ones i up'd here are the best ones i guess. Also id love to know when you do your research

What the guy above me said, also if you move the project to another computer be sure to save it as a zip so all your files are present when you move them, otherwise just the flp wont work and give you the same message about missing files
