But yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing it in action as well. NG has always been adept at building suspense.

So Obadiah gets these blueprints, and goes from not knowing where to begin, to building a suit on par with Tony Stark's newest one.

Obadiah also had Stark's prototype suit, so he could see what was doing what and work from there. You don't have to be a genius to upgrade a scrap heap.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Willing to admit that may just be because I'm a stubborn prick and went into the movie expecting it to be shit. Everyone seems to claim best ever but the most I'd give it is average.

Hahaha, I yearn for the days when something like that could have been the worst thing in the world to happen to me. Back when a delay in the release of Wind Waker was a major life obstacle.

Don't worry little buddy, the game won't be spoiled too much for you on your time off. Just all the best bits.

I very much enjoy the readiness of many of the posters so far to criticize your decision, as if they knew every story of every military member. Behind the screen you guys are all omniscient wonders.

Best of luck with your training, I hope you enjoy the new career and don't end up regretting it.

One of the best things about having a government paid salary (i.e. a fixed yearly payment instead of a by-the-hour payment) is that you can be out drinking, having a good time, when it occurs to you that right now, that very second, you are being paid by most of the people around you to be doing whatever you're doing right then.

Also a comforting thought when you're dealing with a particularly stubborn turd.

I blame the 'cram as many features in as possible regardless of whether they're useful or not' mentality a lot of these sort of companies seem to have these days. My Zen Micro which I got on Christmas '05 is still serving me fine, and the only things you can do on that are music, radio, removable disk and basic organisation (calendar, clock, etc).

I looked at your blog just now solely because of that sentence. Then I remembered there's usually some sort of image there that doesn't fall in the category of 'my cup of tea.' So I did not note to self: check here more regularly.

That note to self stuff might actually be useful if I had some kind of functional memory though.

At 4/19/08 01:49 AM, aeternitas wrote: That smartass email took a few minutes to write. I honestly think it's deserving of a PSP

Well yeah me too, but I'm biased because I'd get a PSP out of it.

I mean, you didn't just send an email of the 'WTF GIMME PSP' caliber...you put some brain cells into your mockery.

It had been a good day and I was in a joking mood, so I figured why not. I knew the chances of it actually working were very slim to none, so I had a bit of fun with it.

And the reply email, well, that was just lame. 'Gee, thanks for entering our contest, but if you want to use your prize, you must pay (insert price of a PSP these days) to us, so in the end we win. Q.E.D. Thx, Sony.' I say go ninja on them.

I was hoping for a bit of a break in the professionalism so I might get a laugh out of it too but alas, it was not to be.

When users see other users getting away with spamming up the Portal they do things to send a message, like raid the portal, submit their own spam (If they can do it and get away with it, I will too!), etc. So it just serves as a bad example if people are allowed to keep submitting crap entry after crap entry.

I think some new examples should be set. Examples like 'one frame submissions will not be accepted.' Examples involving mass deletion.

Did someone in the upper ranks (i.e. above me) get their exp reset? I just noticed my rank went up one but I'm still immediately behind the same 10 people. I checked for deleted accounts but came up with nothing... anyone know what's up?

how do you feel now that I've actually surpassed you in exp?

I didn't even know you had.

I merely want the knowledge so that I may properly inform gfoxcook how he'll feel in 80-90 years time when the same happens to him

My money's on the fox.

To elaborate (well, to actually answer your question now that I DO know you passed me at some stage), I don't feel much more than slight disappointment. I had no control over it (except for maybe leaving my account to someone a little more regular in their depositing habits before I left) so I'm not gonna add tears to spilt milk. Before now I'd just assumed you'd always been in front of me. And really, you signed up before me anyway, so I had to have passed you first. Guess we're even. ; P
