Wow, clearly. It doesn't look like anybody in this thread appears to either!
Obamacare is based on the supposition that if he can get 6-7 million new people to sign up through these exchanges (guaranteeing the insurance companies more money), they can easily make the new laws workable that improve access to people's healthcare. The crux of that argument is enticing young people to sign up (because young people are the best for the insurance companies... low payouts and high profits as a demographic).
How do you do that? Threaten to penalize a person if they don't sign up for healthcare. But, you're a reasonable man who doesn't really want to penalize people for something like that, something that's somewhere between a personal choice and a civic responsibility. So you put penalization in the form of giving the IRS the power to withhold tax-returns of those who aren't in compliance of the laws, but you do not give the IRS the power to garnish wages for the penalty, nor do you give them the power to punish anybody in any way for not having health insurance (with the exception of withholding their tax returns in the amount owed).

Find an example. If they are struggling, they will qualify for subsidies.
You don't give a fuck about struggling families having extra money taken out of their paychecks.
They'll qualify for a subsidy and then when there are crippling medical problems, they won't go bankrupt or be forced to avoid treating the problem due to funds.
You don't give a fuck about the poor who's money is being stolen to subsidize a failed bank.
No idea what you're talking about here. This is about insurance regulations and the medical industry, neither of which have anything to do with the banking system (a whole other can of worms).

C'mon. That's never happened to you. If it did, it's because you were literally staring like a creep and only made eye contact when she broke your drool-fest with an accusatory tone.
I've literally NEVER witnessed a conversation started with some woman being angry that she was checked out by a guy. They're wearing the clothes because they know it looks good and (no shocker) definitely don't mind being told they look good. I just hope you know the difference between telling a woman she looks good as a person and telling a woman she is pleasing to you as an object.
As for the virginity stuff: I think everyone else here's already got the message across. Don't sweat the wait. I lost my virginity when I was 18 in my car and it was totally stupid. Sex gets good when you learn and grow with someone. And, when you're older and you've learned and grown with several people, then it can sometimes be good on a one-time basis with randoms.

Speaking of sweeping views of Miami...
Ever seen what a passing isolated shower looks like from nearly ⅕ of a mile up?
Fuck yea man. Never get tired of that shit. I was in Hawaii last semester, got to see passing isolated showers all the time from the peaks on Oahu at about 2700'. Plus rainbows.

Oh thank God! I was absolutely wracking my brain over what Poozy would do in the hypothetical situation where somebody else here on Newgrounds is a crane operator and tells us about it with sweeping views of Miami.
Case is solved, folks.

Control? No. Exert influence upon? Absolutely.
Being feminine does not make me female, nor does it make me gay. In contrast, being masculine doesn't make me male either - being male is a physical characteristic of my body, not a definition of my identity. I identify as male because I've had this body my entire life, but I don't have any other reason to identify myself that way.
Well, you have all sorts of reasons that are the result of having that male body your entire life. But yes, ultimately, they source from that male body. I'm following so far...
People of both genders do things that are labeled more masculine or feminine, but those labels only exist because they are relevant to certain stereotypes. As a general rule, men have more testosterone, women have more oxytocin, and it does affect our behavior, but that doesn't mean that we have to fit into a 'model' personality in order to 'fit in' to a gender. What confuses me is why someone feels as if they are one gender or another, or why people try to conform to a stereotype about gender, whether it's to assert that they are the gender that they were born as or to assert that they have transitioned.
I don't think trans people are looking to 'fit in' to a gender quite in the way you describe. Some may, sure. But I think for the most part, the behavior arises from the need to explore successful alternatives to the body they're given that doesn't feel right to them. Like, if you're fat and you start working out because you aren't comfortable in your body, it's not because you're trying to 'fit in' to a svelte form-factor (although there could be elements of that motivation, sure), but rather because you don't feel comfortable as a fat person and so you endeavor to change that.
Trans is about much more than being one gender or the other, though. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender] puts a pretty vague summation about the trans experience, but you could do further research and learn more.
Why do trans people care enough to assert that they have an identity in the first place? I don't care if you're wearing a dress or pants - you were a useless gelatinous blob of water and carbon last year, and you're a useless gelatinous blob of water and carbon now.
No idea how to answer this question. Everybody has an identity.
That is what it looks like without the CSS stylesheets applied. Usually it means an issue with your browser or connection. Glad to see you've got it resolved.
Seems useless. It also presents the possibility that without proper shielding, your power cables will cause image issues by interfering with your VGA/HDMI/whatever cables. I'd be willing to bet that it's simply because nobody really cared about having that feature in their PSUs, so there was no incentive for companies to build them in. They already don't make sense in a server, so given the move toward laptops and tablets in the consumer market I can imagine there's very little incentive indeed for including a 230v out port on a PSU.
I mean, think about it. You're already going to have all your power running to your UPS or power strip as it is. Most people don't trust plugging their machines directly into the wall in case of a power surge that would possibly ruin their equipment. Do you want the possibility of your monitor being ruined as well? It's an added complexity with little positive tradeoff.
Does your gravity-well's growth trajectory end in supernova or black hole?
I want to care about depositing still. But the truth is, I peaked at experience rank 95 or something well over a year ago and I haven't been able to since.

I've tried to order a penicorn to send to my girlfriend at least 5 times now. Each time I hit 'confirm' it sends me back to 'step 1/3'. What gives!?
Also: sad day. : (
Analyze your games. It's like anything else in life: record everything and, during review, determine where you could have made a better choice and learn to recognize that situation. If you couldn't have made a better choice, the mistake was made earlier in the game.
I think the picture somebody shared on my facebook homepage summed it up quite nicely.
But, yea. I just watched the whole thing (snow day boredom, wooo) and it was patently obvious that Ken Ham would rather ignore inconvenient problems with his theory and avoid making any predictions Bill asked for than actually answer questions and seriously consider where the other side is coming from in order to rebut.
It looks like you can either set a flag, by using the robocopy command in the command line, that will not modify the date modified information, or you can simply copy the containing folder, thereby not modifying the contents.
Why do people support it? Its a barbaric act that makes no sense because you are pretty much guaranteed to lose sensitivity, it looks bad most of the time, and its commonly done too tight. It also doesnt provide any medical benefits at all which has been shown many times by different research, while theres only one that shows it does which is a self reported survery (aka shit). It can also commonly leads to erectile dysfunction and is hard to reverse, which is unfair against the babies who have had it done without their permission.
The only reason it still happens a lot on Newgrounds is because the administrators want more money and so practically force people to do it and because Moderators are ignorant about the subject (as per usual).
We always had lingering issues for about 72 hours after changing DNS providers. Seems it takes 48+ hours for a DNS change like that to propagate through the wide-world of DNS providers. Good work, Brendon.
Next time: pineapple for the aided protein digestion. It has enzymes, yo. I bet there are other tricks as well, some people swear by coca-cola because they think the carbonic acid helps break down the meat... I think it's true to a point. I used coca-cola to clean off the surface rust on my motorcycle and it works like a charm.
I don't know if this would enable you to eat more meat for competition purposes, but it certainly might aid in your next-day misery. I'm pretty fortunate, in that I eat vegetarian for months and months at a time, but when I feel like cheating it never causes me any digestive issues. I bet the food-baby was quite a sight.
Or just... go deliver them? If they're that much of an inconvenience you can probably justify inconveniencing yourself to send them or drive over there yourself. I think the only reason you are holding the jeans against this person is because you want to have power over them because you're hurt from the breakup.
You both are right. The problem is that saying that a plane is directionally travelling from the Occident to the Orient does not specify the spatial relationship between the two (though the names imply them). So, you saying that the plane is traveling from the West to the East in the socio-political sense of the terms is ambiguous, one could travel from the West to the East either by taking a plane traveling west or taking a plane travelling east, due to the nature of the globe. Whereas, your girlfriend is technically more accurate in that she recognizes the question is not asking where the origin and destination is (as you are answering), but rather the compass-specific direction in which the plane is more likely to travel.

This was me 17 months ago. I really should get back into recording to put stuff on NG. Got a bunch of new stuff I've learned since then.
US Taxpayers are subsidizing the incredibly wealthy by allowing the minimum wage to be below a living wage and not tying worker's pay to manager and executive pay scales. For instance, Walmart has 80% of it's workers on government assistance to the taxpayer's tune of 2.66 billion every year. For comparison, Walmart makes pure profits of 15 billion every year. If Walmart were to pay its workers a livable wage and provide healthcare for all those workers (we'll assume that it costs them 5 billion a year), the company will still have a 10 billion dollar profit left over every year.
The amount of ignorance here is astounding, too. Suggesting that an entire class of people are ungrateful for the 'opportunity' to perform dead-end, inadequately paid work for not-enough hours each week is something they should be thankful for. I wasn't able to live off $13/hr and benefits when I made that and I'm single. I was able to survive, pay bills, and occasionally do something fun, but I wasn't putting away money for emergencies--the only reason I could afford to exist that way was because I have a social safety network of people that care about me. Not everyone does, and if you're saying people should be grateful for what they have, when they don't have any of the things you take for granted, then I'd suggest you're projecting the fact that you aren't grateful onto them.

"Minimally intrusive?!" When was the last time you were chill with some rando deciding that you needed to be groped on the streets under the guise of searching for weapons? The Supreme Court case ruling you are referring to is from the '60s, it doesn't justify the stop and frisk policy of the NYC police department, but it allows for a 'Terry frisk', which is to say that if the police officer has 'specific and articulable' reasons for suspecting a person of having committed a crime he can frisk the person. Stop and frisk merely pays lip-service to 'specific and articulable' justification for the frisks.
I think the NYC stop and frisk policy is completely unreasonable and absolutely outrageous. I can only hope the Supreme Court takes it up in order to end the practice completely.
The report is so ridiculous. Somebody tested her hair 4 years after she died and concluded she was probably murdered due to the heavy metals in her hair? Why did they not find those same conclusion during the autopsy where they had access to her actual body (because they weren't there)? Why weren't there elevated arsenic levels if she was given rat poison?
The best explanation I saw was somebody saying that finding chemicals in her hair is probably more indicative of the fact that she was a beautiful Hollywood star who treated her hair with chemicals on the regular to ensure it always looked good.
