Topic: Another "DJ" stealing music...

Posted: 08/07/09 04:20 AM

Forum: Audio

Check the amount of stolen clicks/listens the guy has.

On another note, every track he has is stolen. but myspace wont do shit about it. So go ahead and do whatever you please^^

"This is the song I have on my MySpace profile. It was called "A Walk in Paradise." Exact song. Still awesome, I love it!" That must have been a slap in the face... For those who don't know, that is one of the reviews BOUNC3 got on "paradise on E Remake" Personally.. I'm glad my music is kinda sucky! xD If I ever found out some one had stolen my music and claimed it as their's... I would do everything I could to see that person ruined. (I'm not advocating violence... I would sue their ass off!)

Also, if you search for DJ Hopar, it does seem like he may have made a profit (or atleast gained a ton of attention) from "Paradise on E Remake"

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is laid out in the TOS of pretty much every site on the web. This is the NG version:
"if you are a copyright owner or an agent thereof and believe that any User Submission or other content infringes upon your copyrights, you may submit a notification pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") by providing our Copyright Agent with the following information in writing (see 17 U.S.C 512(c)(3) for further detail):

1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site;
3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material;
4. Information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail;
5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed." - NG TOS

Okay, to keep this short and sweet, basically my problem is two things. Problem one; I put vcam in my flash so I could have an easy camera zoom. If your familiar with vcam, you should know how it all works, so I'm not gonna get into every little detail here. Basically for some reason my flash slows down considerably for the first 30 seconds, then resumes normal play speed. Problem two; because it's slowed down the mp3 no longer syncs with the animation and ends much earlier than it is supposed to. On the time line, everything looks right, but I'm really confused and would appreciate any help you guys could give. Everything on this flash is AS3, so if you have some action script solution, make sure you know it it AS3, and not previous versions.

The best way to think of a project is to take your mind as far away from it as you possibly can. For me at least, one of the problems I have is that; even though I have ideas in my head, none of them seem interesting or fresh. After a good break (play a video game, draw, read, etc...) I can rethink everything and sometimes I find some of my best ideas were the ones I wasn't feeling at that moment.

Another thing you can do is brainstorm. Sometimes it helps to have people's insights (Kinda like this) but you need to be able to have your own ideas and thoughts as well. One problem with a thread like this is that everyone has their own methodology and habits when it comes to the creative process.

You say you need a story. Isn't that the best part about being an animator, seeing your own ideas and stories coming to life. I'm really new to the whole animating thing. I've been uploading audio for a while now, but I decided to test the waters of animation. I just put my first flash up a day ago xp. The project is really ambitious (especially considering it's my fist). http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/49 5899 Writing the story has been the hardest part. Even though I've written stories before, it was easier for me to learn how to and animate the teaser.

If your having trouble think of a story... Just relax, one will come.

Hmmm....

Magix... it is just lame

GarageBand... Those fucking loops...

Reason... I couldn't figure it out. (But it did seem high quality)

I use FL8. Not because it's the best, but because it was the only one I could figure out how to use my computer's keyboard as a midi controller. ROFLS! I've been using it for a while now, (The first version I ever had my hands on was 4). I really like it, but it could just be that I've became comfortable with it. I would love to have a ProTools rig, but that's far too expensive. LMAO!! I seriously almost moved to LA to go to the Art Institute because they offered a degree in audio production and ProTools training (They also said that as a student I could access the studios, but I realized every other student probably wants to as well, which would mean little time to actually get into their studios).

And as for VST's, if your relying on your DAW's built in stuff, you're limiting yourself. I really hate 90% of FL's VI, but that could just be that I was stuck with them for so long. I actually can't think of a FL plugin that I use regularly, with the exception of a few effects.

Okay, so it's kind have been a struggle for me lately to stick my songs into a genre. My newest song has been the most challenging to date. My style is really all over the place. What I was wondering is if there is anyone out there with a good ear for genres who could help me place my newest song. I don't want to upload it until I can think of the appropriate genre. It's influenced by a ton of different styles, that's what makes it hard to place. Since I don't want to put it up until i can figure this out, just let me know you're willing to help. If you want you can check out my page to get some sense of my style, but I'm really random.

This is really the only way to go. It's the creative process. Even if it takes a couple songs, eventually you'll get one you like. And don't rush it. Sometimes it takes me a whole day to get something that I feel like putting on NG. I've definitely uploaded my share of sucktagious songs though. But hey, at this point, they can't all be winners xp

b) work on a previous song, extending it by 2 minutes?

This isn't the best route to tell you the truth... Work songs all the way through to completion. Try not to go backwards creatively. When you make a song, try to make it the best it can possibly be so that you feel there is nothing more you could do it. Use all the skills and tricks you know to make each song as crazy and good as you can. After a few songs, A) You'll notice an improvement overall in your music and B) You'll be able to focus your energy forword which will make for many new songs!

It's all about perspective though. I'm a Trip-Hop producer. I don't even have a real place to call my own on newgrounds. But coming from the Hip-Hop side of the tracks, I think it's nice to see Hip-Hop representing! I actually have some Hip-Hop up on the list this week, 2 songs in fact. The fact that this was a good week for hip hop shouldn't be a big deal. Techno, Trance, and all the other popular genres will return next week. Although, eheheh, Hip-Hop is contagious. So it could be that with the increase in decent (and not so decent) Hip-Hop, as well as people appreciating it. Listen to the Hip-Hop that made it this week. It's all really good. It's not like too much shitty music makes it's way to the top. Personally I don't like seeing the voice acting stuff on the weekly's but it happens, and there are people out there who must be appreciating it. People can knock it all they want, but it's there. Haters just make the game more interesting. On that note, even though this is kinda like telling a bull to piss in the toilet, people should just relax in here. WTF does a score matter. Is everyone really so insecure??? Or is it that they need reassurance that what they do is good? rofls, what ever. The funny thing is, if score is really important, everyone would realize that self voting and zero bombing does not make your tack better, it makes you worse because instead of focusing your energies creatively, you're wasting them in stupid negative ways... ROFLS!

....HIP HOP FTMFW....

Okay, I've been up all night. So please forgive me if I type like a tard...

Hip-Hop is much more than just any one style of music. Between my two accounts I'm all over the place in terms of my style (mainly Hip-Hop). Personally I can't settle on just one. Unfortunately there are only a few places to stick them. But I think a big thing for the audio community here to remember is that the Audio portal is here to serve Flash artists, not Audio artists such as ourselves. In terms of what flash developers are looking for, hip hop doesn't seem to fit their needs.

As far as i know, we cant do that. Correct me if i'm wrong though.
As far as I know, you can use copyrighted music in your flash, as long as you don't make any money from it.

Also, I'm up for the edit, though I don't have the song. Hit me up on PM :)

Just don't upload the song to the Audio Portal and you should be good. Using the song is fine so long as you don't profit from the sale or use of the flash. I'm not sure if the revenue sharing thing counts though. I would really suggest searching the audio portal thoroughly before you use the song.

Topic: How to improve my voice?

Posted: 03/31/09 09:21 PM

Forum: Audio

Really the best thing to do is find a vocal coach. There are a lot of exercises you can find online, but without someone who knows what they are doing, some of the value is lost. Also, effects. You've been to a concert right? Notice how only roughly half of the singers out there actually sound any where near as good as they do in studio recordings. Now I'm not advocating AutoTune, but things like reverb and delay change the song of a voice a lot. lmao, that's why people sound better in bathrooms. LMAO! We actually used to record my friend singing in a public restroom because it had sweet acoustics and reverb. Also the mixing and EQ of vocals is very important. Another thing would be a decent mic. BUt like I said, there is nothing that can really make you a better singer, other than maybe practice and a vocal coach. Also, when you sing, sing your heart out. never hold back!

well i just asked for an awnser and u come up with this shit about me getting banned i have heard numerous songs made with garage band here so i dont care watt u guys think about how i make my music or if its illegal im not even old enough to go to jail so i would shut up GOD DAMN IT! And well FYI it kinda is music cuz it plays and u can here it so yea its music and its damn good too.

Okay, so you won't go to jail, just get massive fines that your parents will have to pay. And garage band is dumb. Especially because almost everyone who uses it takes those fucking same goddamn loops that every other person with the program has and calls it original work. Garage band is for people who have little creativity and almost no musical ability. I'm not saying there aren't people who can work wonders with it, but it's rare.And also, just because my farts go from A to G don't make it music. What you described is called... wait for it... you ready? It's called sound.
