My goal for 2008 was to release more games than I have in any previous year. I'm bummed that I only released 2 which ties with previous years, but they are 2 of the most polished games I've single-handedly produced ever so I'm happy with that. I've definitely been very focused and productive this year in putting the extra polish into these games, resurrecting EntropicOrder.net, creating a couple game portals, learning and switching to ActionScript 3, and monetizing my work (which takes a lot more time spent on sponsorships and putting out licensed versions), but I was hoping I would have a higher number of released work.

In 2009 my goal is to make Flash games full time, either working for myself or for someone else, to take my AS3 skills to the next level in terms of efficiency and originality, and to find a great animator to partner up with that I can work really well with. I should definitely be able to produce more games this year and I'm going to be very focused on reaching my goal of developing games professionally. Wish me luck.

That's cool to hear others talk about time loop theory as I was very excited about the idea a while back!

First, I think it is likely that matter and energy have always existed. For a long time I believed there were a finite number of possibilities and therefore it was inevitable that the same scenario would eventually repeat itself, and the universe would stay in a loop. This would mean that I have existed an infinte number of times in the past, however, just as I am not aware of any past selves, neither were any of them and neither will any in the future. Therefore, they are more so copies of me in a diferent time than the same me that continues on in them.

However, I came to a realization a few years back that this is improbable that time would repeat itself. The reason is that the possible combinations of the universe are actually infinite and not finite. The reason is because of particle positions.

If 3 particles are each exactly 1 inch away from each other, then that is one possibilty. Consider that particle 2 moves .0000000000001 cm to the left. There are an infinite number of positions where particles can be, and so there are an infinte number of possibilities for the universe which map to the infinite amount of time. Therefore, it is possible that time loops, but it is unlikely.

However, something new I'm just now thinking is that perhaps the various gravitational pulls and other physical and chemical bonds makes it such that there are many positions that particles CANNOT take. Assuming a finite amount of matter and an eventually collapsing universe, there is a maximum radius of the universe, so these forces may enforce a finite number of positions that the finite number of particles can take, thus enforcing a finite number of possibilities and eventually leading to a repeat of identical events.

Maybe. It takes so long to travel to other solar systems though that no one living on Earth would ever see another planet (unless we find a way to live on the Moon or mars or something which I think is unlikely). The most you could hope for is to live on a spaceship on its way to another solar system, and hopefully give birth to a child that will grow up, have kids, and maybe they or their kids will be able to arrive and colonize a planet in another solar system.

What kind of infinity are we talking about here, amount of time, matter, empty space or something else?

In terms of time and empty space, it is more so that there is nothing stopping time or the nothingness from continuing, more so than a presence of an infinite amount. In terms of infinite matter, I would be interested to hear what your argument is.

Unless you are a professional philosopher or scientist, it is doubtful that you would be given credit or taken seriously for your idea, even if it is accurate and original.

I checked out the Castle Crashers preview and that game looks really awesome! Is it going to be on the consoles, Flash or both? Either way good luck and I can't wait to play it.

My goal this year is to get EntropicOrder.net back out there with new games in 2008 and to take my Flash abilities to the next level with bigger and better games than I've ever created before.

There ARE indeed "cheat" codes. They are actually progress codes that you get for beating levels.

Here are some hints for getting a high score. Get 5 power ups. Then, hit a ramp at max speed (25mph) and go straight up in the air. In the air, pull a Drill Bit with Fred or a Wing Walker with Dave and hold them as long as you can. The tricks that you can hold give you a LOT more points. Also, do a Triple Flip while doing them. If you can, land backwards or in a Seat Spin (press X and Z at the same time) to continue your combo.

I've gotten about 200,000 on the first level, so don't give up!

Use this code in the course editor to test your tricks with:

Good question!

I'm a moralist, humanist, agnostic atheist, compatiblist (soft determinist), masochist? (but not the crazy kind, I just believe some pain is healthy), scientific materialist (which is a prerequisite for determinism as far as I know...), and possibly a moral realist. I also believe in infinite time and the power of optimism (meditation and psychosomatics).

The biggest thing I believe in is the ability of every human being to find happiness and meaning by making a difference in themselves and the world. We can all change our lot in life if we would just believe in ourselves.

I tried playing on the MSN Gaming Zone but people keep quitting about half way through which is about 2 or 3 hours and it's really pissing me off.

Sites that do Flash for fun are cool, even if they are very similar to NG and even if they make money. But, when these companies come in and don't even care about having fun or anything and are just trying to make a profit, that's when it pisses me off.

If someone is faking their IP, there isn't any easy way to stop them. No matter what we do. You can fake a thousand email addresses as well.

It's way easier to fake a thousand IP's than it is to fake a thousand emails, logging in and out of every single account, with every single password (cuz if all the passwords were the same, you could likely suspect it and block the accounts).

I'm just suggesting members only voting, you don't have to agree.

That's true. I didn't expect it to be in the top 5 at all. I just didn't think it deserved to be blammed. I just wanted it to be there in my submissions. There's a difference between having a great movie and having a movie that doesn't suck so much that it should be removed.

But, I'm not so much complaining about it being blammed, I just wanted to send people over to see it if they haven't yet.

As for the clocks, the worst clock movie is still 100x better than garbage like the zelda rap or another anti-Osama movie!

That may be true, and I never generalized all clocks.

I never made a generalization. All I said was that at least one clock (or clock-lover) is upping his or his fellow clocks' work unfairly (whether by cheating for by 'fifenating'). Also by downing other's work in the same manner.

When you have tangable/reliable proof of what you SUSPECT in your vivid imagination of things, then come back and atleast you will get credit for proposing an organized thesis on your contentions.

I did say that I suspect it, I never said that they indeed were cheating. I said (and I quote): "I believe there are clocks who use IP spoofing to waste everyone's time."

Clearly says "I believe" not "I have proven"

You're right, I'm really sorry about that. I shouldn't have said shitty, and that was more an expression of my feelings on this whole issue. I know they probably took some time to make, and they were actually kind of funny. I just don't think they deserve to be above the other great work that was submitted, that's all.

Gooseberry_Clock has a score of 2864 with 2964 votes on a picture at EntropicOrder.com. The next 13 highest rated pics are all by clocks, with at least 200 votes each.
I was wondering about that myself. Gooseberry is pretty much non-affiliated with the ClockCrew... most of us dont even wat the clock part in his name.

If that's true, then fine. I only said clock because he calls himself a clock. I'm not generalizing. Whoever is doing it, if there is cheating going on, then I just want to make an effort to stop it.

After all... how many people around here actually vote 1-4 for a movie??
