Are you that fucking sadistic?

I have a friend that's attempted suicide twice. She is absolutely fine now as far as I know.
People that hang themselves often have marks on the neck from where they attempted to remove the rope.

People who commit suicide are in a state of mind where they see death as the only escape from a problem they're facing. There may be situations in which this is true but most of the time these problems are temporary or have better solutions, and the individual simply feels trapped and isn't in an emotional state to make a logical decision on the subject.

The last thing people in those situations need is someone that will grant their wish without a second thought.

Plain and simple.

I agree with you on that. Hell I agree that there's plenty of situations that call for killing.

I just think the idea of "loosening morals regarding human life" for the nebulous goal of serving the greater good has some pretty frightening implications regarding individual freedom. Would you volunteer yourself to be killed in the name of scientific progress? I think if that ever started happening the people advocating for it certainly wouldn't be the ones getting thrown under the bus, if you know what I mean.

Well if you read my post my whole argument is that it won't come to that, and if it does population growth will grind to a halt anyways (not that it won't cause issues).

So no, it's absolutely unacceptable to me to kill people now because some believe that it might help out some fuckers that won't even be born until we're all dead anyways.

Also, "start", we've BEEN killing people, in a variety of ways.

Not with the intent of curbing population.

Why? You have to keep in mind there's always technological advances. If you went back in time 100 years the technology we had could not support the population we have today (and some said similar things about overpopulation being the end of us back then). Now the global population has been multiplied by, what, 6? Yet many people enjoy more luxuries and a better quality of life than people did back then. I think that's a pretty good indication that we're doing well and will keep coming up with better ways to deal with growth. The solution is not to just start killing people like really?

More on topic, I agree with euthanasia for medical reasons but not in assisted suicide involving a physically healthy person.

Well it depends on a lot of things, hormones are subtle most of the time but some trans women luck out and grow D cups. That and working out can get you curves and hip changes are possible if you're young. Depends on age, genetics, and how masculine you looked in the first place.

Not trying to change your mind or anything but I thought it was worth mentioning that not all trans people have to have heaps of plastic surgery.

When that happens, won't the muslims win just because they're willing to die for their fanaticism?

Where the hell did you get that idea?

People from the west, the middle east, really from all over the world are willing to and do fight Islamic militant groups. Some of them are Muslim themselves. There's probably someone dying right now doing it.

People are more than willing to defend their way of lives, including liberals. Tolerance of other cultures does not equate to allowing extreme religious groups to waltz in and change life as they know it. If sharia law took effect there wouldn't be any kind of plurality, "cultural marxism", or liberal ideology- don't you think they know that?

All in all it's amazing to me how distorted some people's view of liberalism is.

Sounds like you have crappy social skills

Well if someone doesn't look at you and only gives brief sarcastic responses or none at all then it should be obvious, trust me I make it simple.

I think the type of people that continue talking despite these obvious hints are either too self-absorbed to pay attention to the other person or just like talking and don't care if anyone listens.

Response to: Avoiding Eye contact Posted July 5th, 2014 in General

I only avoid eye contact when I'm embarrassed or when I have no desire/have lost the desire to listen to someone speak.

Some people don't get the hint though, like seriously if I glance down at my phone and say "mm hmm" in a disinterested tone that's not an invitation to continue your monologue for another 10 minutes
