Lol there's a funny psychology behind the fact you openly stated "arrogance" yet it somehow made your statement seem... not-so arrogant :/ I can't pull that kind of thing off, I think. I've actually wanted to become a mason for a couple years now because I happen to like foundations I've read outside the Masonic temple a few blocks away from my house. My uncle also happens to drive a truck which says "ToB1Ask1" so I asked him but he's not one... it was the previous owner ;\

It's somewhere orbiting around page 32 in the entire league listing. You'll know you're close when you see the leagues starting with "n"

That's so mushy and heart-warming at the same time, it just brings a tear to my eye. I think I'm not the only person who feels left out with all of the detailed historical references going around though, ah well sucks for me.

In order to have no war, no poverty and no God, you would have to have no necessity. The former arises out of necessity and to eliminate necessity is impossible because it is that same necessity which allows us to conduct infinite exploration. Thus your philosophy is a paradox.

Yup that's the one! The one with the black scarf, she robbed me! *4 confused women in black scarves turn to one another*. You might as well say "the one with the hair" or "the one with the arms and legs."

I wouldn't put it past some people to try and taint Obama's character. Earlier in the CNN program there was some footage of a debate between Hillary Clinton and her oponent (didn't catch his name but I'm sure ya'll seasoned politics junkies know who) and her opponent actually had the gall to strike a low blow by talking about her appearance. He said something along the lines of how she used to look back then and how Bill could have chosen her, you know, personal things. So anyway I'm bringing that up because I wouldn't put it past opponents to try and degradate Obama's image on whatever premises possible.

Not true. Bush had a very impressive cabinet in 2000, where the hell are they now?
You've been watching Robin Williams aye?
There's a lot of talk about Obama coming from the left side recently. He might be a better candidate than Hillary Clinton they say. However, I'm watching CNN at the moment and they said it would be easier for the Republican party to attack Obama because according to the New York Times: he has a "slender resume" little experience in international policy and he's black. So yes I can see a problem there. I personally have not looked into Obama's political experience or where he stands on the issues so I will refrain from making a definite conclusion about him.
Wasn't a group put together to pull troops out of Iraq by 2008. I clearly remember FAB0L0US talking about it... I believe ti was him. Such a group to perform such a task would suggest the administration is aware this war will not be won and their best bet would be to do what was done in Bosnia.

LOL! Well there was the attempt at social security reform, then there was talk about medicare reform. Direct opposition in the bi-partisan system has put an end to any of that though. Hm... I wonder what the Conservative people in here think about Bush's plan to privatize social security...

This is gonna be a hella good season, I can feel it.
Dude... you are seriously rubbing it in my face right now. Lol I haven't had real good snowboarding conditions in almost two years! Last year was shitty. Getting down the slope was dangerous and scarry-yet-thrilling because it was inside a cloud and there was a total whiteout from time to time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we get conditions similar to yours. I might end up moving to Colorado for that reason and lower housing someday. :)

Bi-partisan polar opposition sucks in that sense. Both parties may have good ideas in them but because both parties have their share of knuckleheads they will remain at odds with one another, thus puting a damper on decision-making.

Yes but you're not exception to the law. If your country saw you as an enemy for whatever reason, you'd have no right to ask for a trial because habeas corpus would not exist. Then you might be subject to torture or coercive interrogation by your own country no less :(
It's very difficult to reach a compromise when lives are at stake. I'd go a bit on the pro-life for this one. Abortion most-definitely should NOT be used as a form of contraception. If you got knocked up, too damned bad >:/
A woman should only have the last option of abortion if her life is at stake, the child's life is at stake (born a vegetable) or it was an act of rape.

Bah such a run-on sentense :( I've always said the problem with immigration isn't they want to endure a gauntlet of horrible conditions to get here, it's that their home government is fucked. One of the biggest things which pissed me off about the immigrant demonstrations in the U.S. earlier this year was that they are able to protest so united and in such a powerful form yet they CAN NOT DO IT in their own countries to fix their broken systems of government and their easy-to-bribe unethical officials. What gives?! If countries such as Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala did not have such fucked governments and people in power, the citizens would actually have more incentive to stay.

That's true, however, didn't the city of New Orleans, namely the mayor request help from the government to fix the levys before they broke? I distinctly remember talk about this all over the news... or was I wrong :\

Hm I've family investing in real-estate and friends working in real-estate firms. They all agree the bubble is letting out pressure at a pretty fast rate. People are already beginning to lose property and values are on the decline, especially here in expensive-ass overrated California. It is expected prices will drop even lower next year ranging from 7-9% decreases in some areas by 3rd quarter of 2007 and down 15% in Nevada alone by spring 2008.

Dude I said in the beginning before the article even began "it's a long read... skim through" and the fact you read through it acts as a disclaimer that you knew you were in for a long read because it said so in the beginning. I know it's a long-ass read if you're one of those readers who sits down and soaks up every word, so I apologize for posting such a long ass article. Never again.

I'm glad you took something out of the essay, whether it be destructive or constructive criticism. I say that with no sarcasm.
The medicare system, FEMA and the situation in Iraq are in the current state they are in because of the administration's politics. That's probably one of the few statements I find truthful in this article. We'd not be in Iraq if this administration were not in power, the medicare system had less issues under clinton and FEMA never had problems assessing a disaster. I'm sure someone's going to argue somehow FEMA could not respond properly to the New Orleans Katrina disaster because of the magnitude of it. Even then, there was a huge lag of days in getting people out of the area, but that's a whole other can of worms so I'll stop there with FEMA and Katrina.

Ew, you're right, I feel dirty now, lol.
You really just want attention don't you?
No, I knew this article was biased, but that's not the point. What I want is to see if people can cut through the bias and see the article does carry some truths. It's obviously spun in a very liberal manner but what I found interesting on it is the ideology behind conservatism. It creates a paradox when the people in office are people who are against their own jobs... I mean... doesn't that defeat the purpose of them being in office in the first place? It's cool for people to be independent and to be able to responsibly govern themselves, I can live with that. But in times of economic, environmental and/or social catastrophe it would be nice for them to know they have a fully-functional, cohesive and agreeable government to lean on.

You also seem ignorant of the fact that the interest rates affect investments alot less than higher tax rates do that would be in place if Democrats had their way. The tax cuts are the biggest contribution to the good market status right now, you can ask anybody who is involved in the stock market and they'll tell you so. That is of course if they aren't democrats.
Right and you have your typical conservative anti-tax statements. What's wrong with paying your government? Ok I can see a problem with paying the current administration so... scratch that.
I'll give you the reason that tax affects stocks. Interest rates are much more important when it comes to bonds and other investment tools with higher security and less risk.
However you should know the S&P500 is the actual noteworthy index because it tracks the 500 most-profitable and consistent corporations whereas the Dow only tracks 30. The S&P has been doing good recently because of the bull-market we've had and yes your lovely tax breaks. Happy? :D
