What is this Staind and Incubus you all speak of? Are they from Sweden or Norway? :( I swear I'm nearing a point of no-return in black metal now >.< thanks a lot Skunk for introducing me to Last.fm. :P
I'd say a large chunk of hispanics vote conservative because they like to keep their ties to their traditional roots, which is not always a good thing. My home has this strong anti-gay view so they lean conservatively, which I hate. They're also persuaded to a conservative vote easily. My mom was actually planning on voting no on the proposition 86 gasoline tax, that is until I told her it was paid for by oil companies. My aunts wanted to vote for bush based only on the fact he wasn't pro-gay as Kerry was. I had to tell them to find another reason to vote for a president because there are more important and immediate issues out there than their anti-gay views.
It kind of pisses me off how much of my previous family generation (parents, aunts, uncles) vote conservatively because they were all born and raised in Mexico and have strong traditions and views which are set in stone. My cousins and siblings, however, were born and raised here in Southern California and they all tend to have liberal views... interesting ain't it?
Whee I just got one hour back as Daylight Savings Time just ended! Sweeeet!

By the same token you should do the same rather than always come off as a holier-than thou, pompous and egotistical moron. Regardless if what Begoner said was socialist, capitalist, satanist, buddhist or racist, it's still true and that is where you fail at having the right to tell him anything. If you can't see such a simple truth, or if the truth bothers you so much then perhaps you should do yourself the favor and save the forum one less condescending idiot.
We still have Summer weather here in Los Angeles... wtf gives?! Where the hell is Jack Frost with my fresh powder?! >.< Probably busy promoting Santa Claus 3 I figure...

One of the major definitions of ‘life’ is that a life forms primary function is to reproduce….so is a mule not alive?
While that may be true, I think we're taking the word "life" out of context here and bending the defenition a bit. I'd say something animated is alive. Trees are alive, things in the water such as fishes and bacterium are alive, mushrooms are alive and obviously a mule is a live. I think this gets difficult to do when you consider things on the macro and micro level though. For example: is the planet alive? Is the solar system alive because it is animated? Are viruses alive? Are atoms alive? Are robots alive? And so on... It's very difficult to establish clear boundaries between the alive and dead not as easy as establishing boundaries between the animated and inanimate.
Hm I hope I don't have dreams or hallucinations of a parking lot secuding a tornado in the ocean after that example of quality spam earlier last page...
Dudes, and dudettes. How can I go about tracing back the IP addresses or location of the idiots who keep sending me "VlHAGRA" advertisements with random shit written in them like "a little bit to your left. one flew over the cuccoo's nest, blah blah blah" (to throw of spam blockers) so I can deal out some punishment or a lawsuit?

Yes we saw the picture the first time dude. I think there's a general concensus both sides were out of line and should be punished for their actions in some way, shape or form. Has any punishment been handed out though?

You bring up a deep and broad consideration and I'm sure there's an answer to it, I just don't know it. It's a shame I might never find out since I'm not in school for science. But then again, someone in the field might publish their findings and all of us could hear about it through our regular news feeds :P

Oppression and failure to recognize the rights of others is more or less a tool to exert power. To willingly allow others to exert absolute power and control over your life is to relinquish your free will and thus your very existance. Don't give your life up to opression if that's not what you want. A wise man once said "an unexamined life is not worth living" - Socrates. Just because his teachings are ancient does not discredit them. It is resistance which brings about change in the form of compromise.
I have socially-awkward family members and friends who went to girls only schools. A cousin of mine went to an all-girls school and now that she's in college she doesn't know how to deal with boys so she's very socially awkward (considering she was an athlete and not a nerd). Basically she just tosses herself to the arms of any willing guy. One of my coworkers went to an all boys school and he has trouble keeping any comments about women to himself even if a woman within audible distance. I guess he's not used to being around them so often and that kind of shit was acceptable where he was socially conditioned (if youc an even call it that). Thanks a lot socially-numbing schools.

Indeed we have. Those are the adverse effects of waiting for class team members to show up to group meetings while you obsessively surf the university wifi network on your laptop because you don't have hi-speed in your own home @.@
I wouldn't see any problem with a virus being part of another phylum. The real question is, should it be part of another kingdom?
The four living kingdoms:
1. Plants
2. Fungus
3. Single-celled organisms
4. Animals
Should there be a 5th for Viral? I'm guessing most of you will probably say no and that the virus should just be relegated to another branch in the Single-celled organisms Kingdom...

Hm I think we should stay away from overly-sophisticated machines altogether lest we end up in The Matrix! O.O
Fucking hell Rydia that sucks ass :( Upon reading the article the following things came to mind:
1. That must have been a very painful and most-unfortunate death. I hope his family can cope with it :/
2. What the hell?! Don't people know elevators have weight restrictions?!
3. My fear of elevators has been renewed. Hello stairs!
4. The stock of Otis Elevator Co. is probably going to experience some falls due to this bad news...
5. This is also bad news for the school which might be sued for negligence since "University President Karen Holbrook told school officials to arrange for an independent review of all dormitory elevators."
6. The whole situation just sucks :(

True that. I mean wow, I don't care what political wing you hail from, that is in clear violation of any and every ethics rule in business and politics.

At 10/21/06 06:07 PM, cellardoor6 wrote: JoS you are so full of shit, so often, I don't even know why I bother with you.
Cellardoor I don't know why you always have to come off so condescending towards anyone who says something you don't agree with. I appreciate your right-winged views and your skepticism and scrutiny of the left, however, you do not have to go and personally attack people all the time for things they say. If you want to troll or challenge them with debate that is fine but you're always stepping over the line. You see something you don't like and you tear into the person with personal insults to the point where you want to nullify their existance. It's people like you on both sides of the political spectrum which make it hard for anything to get done because it's impossible to reach a compromise.
2) President Bush doesn't have a passport? Hmm I wonder how he made all those trips to around the world when he was younger??? You love to just make up bullshit don't you???
I believe he was talking about Schwarzenegger not being U.S. born and contemplating running for president...
Thats REALLY funny coming from you, a complete dipshit.
See what I mean? At what point did JoS attack you with such voracity?
JoS, kill yourself. You're a completely dysfunctional and worthless human being.
Yep. You're just as bad as O'Reily...if not worse... You actually attacked me personally as well in the Foley thread when I said FOX was utterly biased because I talked about Outfoxed. In no way did I personally or directly insult you but like always you take it upon yourself to verbally and childishly tear a new one to anyone you don't agree with. In another thread you attacked another person arguing from the left (was it MortifiedPenguins?) and now you seek to attack yet another regular, JoS, seriously dude, go ahead and keep it up, your distasteful insults won't be missed when you get banannaed >=P
This is a California issue, but it could happen in any state where there is a prominent immigrant population.
The following letter came out of the office of Tan Nguyen who is running for office.

Cool. I don't mean to burst your bubble but: people are talking about things other than N. Korea such as, but not limited to:
1. Canada's politics
2. Belgian politics
3. Iraq
4. Obesity
5. Communism
6. Privacy
7. Freedom of choice in the court of law
8. Abortion
9. Bird Flu
10. Oh and did I forget 3 topics on N.Korea?
I've nothing against you personally bud, but if you want to hear people's reactions on the situation regarding N. Korea, it has been extensively discussed in other topics.

There are many occasions when the U.S. politicians have tried to fix problems:
1. Social Security
2. medicare
3. Education
4. Inflated real estate
5. Gun control
6. Stem cell research
7. Abortion rights
8. Gay rights
9. Etc...
The reason the problems above have not really been solved to the full extent is because it is difficult to reach a compromise on them and establish boundaries for decisions. Furthermore it is impossible to do so when the people who are supposed to be making those decisions are as divided as the 1/2, quite literally.
N. Korea is in the process of preparing a second nuclear test. They hope this one will be more successful than the last.

Aren't already discussing going to war with N. Korea, the use of nuclear arms, U.N. sanctions and other alternatives for dealing with Kim Jong Il in another thread? >:/ you seem to be obsessed with this issue. Just don't create another "why was my topic locked?" thread, please.
