"Actors... are cattle. Be always nice to them, because they're stupid."

Another fun fact, Chile does have an automotive industry.

The hell? No, we don't. Not anymore, at least. We did make that one shitty car in the 80's, but that was it.

Am-i-rite?

But "fuck" isn't quite as versatile as Hueá!
Because, if you're, say, eating a burger, you can't say "this fuck is good!". You can only say "This is fucking good!", or "this is good, for fuck's sake!".

In chilean it's "Hey hueón, que está buena (güena) esta hueá, por las hueas!"
So it's "fuck", "shit", "dude" and others, all crammed up into one.

But isn't violent supression of organized religion a key element in the doctrine of authoritarian communist regimes? That would fall under the second category of the OP's post, which is politics pertaining religion.

While I agree that there's hardly anything worse than angsty pagan assholes with their Hot Topic-bought rituals and religions, let's not mix up Mayans and Aztecs. Cortés set foot in the Aztec Empire when the Aztecs were at their peak, and still they weren't THAT incredibly amazing in comparison to Europe, except perhaps in some aspects of astrology and architecture. Destroying the Aztec Empire was almost a complete piece of cake for Cortés considering the ridiculously small amount of manpower he used, even though people seem to forget that nearly all of the fighting was done by tribes that allied with the Spaniards.
The Mayans, however, are a different story entirely. They reached their peak several centuries before the Spanish arrived (between 250 AD and 900 Ad) and during that time they were far above the Europeans in terms of scientific development and all that crap. When the Spaniards arrived they found an extremely deteriorated civilization, and STILL it took them nearly 200 years to finally be able to claim that they had "conquered" them, and even after that happened they would have to keep enduring Mayan revolts nearly every decade. In comparison: It took them less than 10 years to completely subjugate the Aztecs, and around 200 to put the Mayans under control.

The Mayans didn't suck that much. The whole end-of-the-world thing, however, is total New Age hippie bullshit. 2012 is supposed to be the end of a cycle, just like the Chinese calendar marks the end of the year of the Hedgehog and the start of the year of the Aardvark or some shit like that.

Response to: Hugo Chavez does it again... Posted August 17th, 2007 in Politics

He's been yelling about making such a reform for at least three years now, any chance of making this thread when he actually puts that thought into action rather than everytime he mouths that? Chávez says wild shit, that's what he does. He does so every time. Ahmadinejad says that jews are demon-pigs like, what, once a week? Every morning after breakfast? But there's no point in making a thread every time he does so, because we all know he's a nutcase. We could make a whole forum section specially for crazy shit that Chávez yells about, but about 10% of that eventually takes form in the shape of... anything.

You'd be amazed at how many seemingly normal people would agree with that to some extent. I once got my sister to take the test, and when we got to that particular question she unhesitantly said "I agree". I gave her the inquiring look that one uses for inquiring situations and such, and she explained herself quite remarkably. "Well, we're obviously better that them Peruvian and Bolivian peoples!".
Uh. Right.

Mexico, because it's pimp.

Austria, because I just might meet an eerily skinny French chick on the train to Vienna and spend a night with her walking around the city, culminating in wild monkey sex in the park.
Spain would be an option too, since Barcelona seems like a classy place to live in and girls with an Spanish accent give me an insta-boner. It's turned into an excessively emo place as of late, though. Plus, they speak Barcelonese or some shit.
