Anyway, I told the head guy I knew where to find some tunes by less known and even unknown individuals. We both want Nightwish and Blind Guardian music, but a group of poor nobodies at Portland Art Institute just making a company for the first time should probably have a few back up plans. I did hit up freeplay, but I also wanted to know if anyone here knew of some good music or maybe made some music that might fit well in a fantasy game.

Here's what we're looking for. (Don't be bashful, I like most of what I hear on this site to be honest. But too much of it just doesn't fit a fantasy feel.)
Bardic tunes or songs
orchestral
opera style
Any of the above mixed with rock, like done by Luca Turilli or Blind Guardian.

I may be persuaded to throw a hard rock piece at my friend, if it sounds like an epic fight song!

No, we're not offering money right now, but we will give credit and I'm sure money will be discussed once we have a product to launch. (Plus if I can get my buddy drooling over a good tune, who knows?) No, we will not steal your stuff.

Download these rock songs, they are amazing and basically all you need as far as Rock is concerned:

A friend of mine did a Rock version of Icona Pop's I love it. (that song that's all over the radio). I thought they did a pretty effin' good job of Man-a-tizing the song and keeping it catchy as hell. Thought I'd share it to see what good ol' newgrounders thought.

Honestly, you don't realize how creepy and angry the song is until it's yelled by a dude.

Hopefully they will keep getting better than better! I just bought a new camera and I have big plans. I thought this would be a good opportunity to feature some music from NG! I'm looking for happy sounding music, other than that it could be anything!

I'll listen to all the music posted in here, and consider everything :) I might even write a review for it if I have spare time! ny music I use will be credited of course, and I'll post a link to any bandpage you might have or anything like that. Thanks for reading!

Art Commission for Kickstarter Posted November 26th, 2012 in Art

Newgrounders:

I am looking to commission an artist to draw images for a Kickstarter video I am publishing. The video will be an audio pitch that would feature your artwork to make it more interesting and engage the viewer. Here is a general example of how it would be done:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl-k9fISB7o

The Kickstarter video we are producing is less than three minutes long. We would be willing to pay you $50 initially and give you a 10% share of the Kickstarter profits. (if the Kickstarter campaign is successful that would equal an additional mininmum of 80$ ($130 total, perhaps more if we reach stretch goals).

The KickStarter pitch involves the funding of an album for a locally popular band that will be releasing the music into the public domain. You can listen to the Pitch here:

http://soundcloud.com/dreamsfromgin/expand-the-public-domain -with

Please PM me or Post here with a portfolio or what you can offer. I really look forward to working with you on this project and helping expand the public domain. Thank you Newgrounders!

Response to: Need a couple of musicians(project Posted June 21st, 2012 in Audio

We would be interested in working with you. However, it looks like you only support hip-hop artists and we are an alternative rock band. Here is a short bio:

Known for their characteristic flame throwing bass, cynical baritone vocals, effects soaked guitar and spastic steady drums, Dreams From Gin embodies everything it means to be in a rock and roll band. They have performed with numerous award winning acts such as Grammy nominated Chris Trapper and chart topping Local H. Their music has been featured in PC and Play Station 3 hit game "Beat Hazard Ultra." Their debut album was released independently and has been uniformly lauded by critics.

We are creative motivated individuals. We have a range of limited success and would like to reach a larger audience. Let me know of your interested.

At 5/7/12 04:31 AM, megajaws420 wrote: i mean really? it seems like all the music here is made on the laptop now a days. is that wrong to say? i like real bands

We're a band. While making music on a laptop is more convient and you do have a wider range of possibilities at your finger tips, making music the original way has its own benefits...and for me involves a lot more passion and fun. Unfortunately, its more expensive and time consuming for us to make record songs for games or flash movies but we have gotten a few placements.

If you look around there are tons of local bands and some of them are great and really need support. I've played with Dozens of amazing, innovative and original bands. (and a lot of bad ones too).
