I am building a prototype for a sci-fi game where the character is controlling a sharship in top down view.
To make the game feel more organic, the game requires a few voice recordings that will simulate communications between crew members, male and female. Adult voices between 20 and 40 yo.
Feel free to drop a PM if interested

Madness - short 3D animation Posted April 28th, 2013 in Animation

I am building a 3D madness game for mobile devices. This is a short fighting sequence from the tutorial level.
What do you guys think
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbQtQwwaVDA

I am designing a level for an upcoming mobile game. I must admit, i did borrow a few ideas from Madness: Project Nexus, but only because it was so awesome.
I need a decent colored drawing of 3 types of characters to use as props. Soldier, engineer and medic. All limbs have to be separated from each other as they will be reassembled in 3d software. (see the sketch)
Those 3 characters will be projected on a 2d plane, animated and put as observers behind the glass.
All i can offer is credits, really. So if you like to help, would mean a great deal.
I am using Greyscale, red and yellow color palette.
If interested, you can always mail CGPepper@outlook.com

@MrFat, thats actually a neat idea. Looking great! i like how you did the dots, ears and the wings. I could probably also wrap the text around the outer circle

Response to: Designing ChickenGiraffe Posted October 2nd, 2012 in Art

The goal is to place it in the splashscreen for mobile devices. So i'll probably go with yellow feet, white body, brown dots on he neck, black outline and a white stroke to separate it from the background.
The hardest part for me is to get an interesting sketch in fotoshop before i clean it up in illustrator

Designing ChickenGiraffe Posted October 2nd, 2012 in Art

I am trying to design a logo for a team by the name ChickenGiraffe. I have a lot of experience in vector design, yet none in actually sketching and freestyle drawing.
If anyone has any tips, suggestions or feedback, i'd love to hear it.

Voice Actor, deep, oneliner Posted September 3rd, 2012 in Collaboration

Hi,

I am searching for a voice actor with a deep voice (a la Max Pain) to read a oneliner: "Work hard they said, you'll be appreciated they said". Voice of a man that has lost everything.
It will be used in a 30 sec animation, which is already complete. Narrating over the scene where the character is beaten up by his boss and thrown out of the office building (screenshot below).

Response to: Need composer for a 30sec animation Posted September 2nd, 2012 in Audio

I was leaning towards comical and funky, for the first 15-20 sec. Transitioning into more action/violent piece towards the end. But would be happy with anything, as long as the music responds to events and doesnt feel misplaced.
The goal is to have music that appeals to teen/young.adult mainstream+hardcore audience, and adds a bit value to the animation.

Need composer for a 30sec animation Posted September 2nd, 2012 in Audio

I am an indie game developer, working on a madness project for mobile devices.
As an intro to the story, ive worked with a flash animator to create a 30 sec animation. Now that its almost complete, we are searching for a composer to write a background music piece.
The entire game takes place in the office environment, with the main hero stopping at nothing to get a promotion.

This is not a paid commission, but you are pretty much guaranteed to have a portfolio piece within the next 2 weeks.

Response to: Animator needed, Madness style Paid Posted August 21st, 2012 in Collaboration

The game takes place in Madness Universe, mTech (madness technologies) corporate building.

The naked shape of the main character will have the following visual in 3D http://newsimg.ngfiles.com/277000/277574_1699063610-hero.jpg .jpg
Note that eyes, body detail etc will be added later on with texturing. Body armor, shirts, gloves, hats, masks, weapons, belts etc will also be added with additional models.
Story: Tall MadTech or mTech office building. We see the main hero in a suit with a suitcase rushing towards the entrance, stumbling, he is late. Next scene, he falls through the door of his office, starts filling paperwork. A clock on the background starts rotating, (from 9am to 12am) Meanwhile, you see files piling up and the char's head is lowering, until he falls a sleep. At that moment, the door flies open, his Boss walks in, pull the hero over the desk, roar, punches hero once, blood everywhere, points at the paperwork, punches second time and the force sends the hero through the window.
Camera from the outside of the mTech building, window breaks, char goes through the window. Camera from the sky, zoomed on the falling char, skyscraper on the background. (somewhat like this http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/307496-tee nage-mutant-ninja-turtles-2-battle-nexus-windows-s creenshot.jpg )
Char is slowly falling towards the ground, loses consciousness. Fade out, game starts.

There are serveral types of CC licences, but as long as you are not making any money from your submission, it should be fine if you credit the artist.
Check for the symbols @ http://creativecommons.org/licenses/

Hi, i am searching for a somewhat experienced animator with previous submissions.
Animation would be a madness style work (with a bit more detail and color), max 30 sec, introducing story for an android/flash11 application.
I can manage up to 150$. I know that it's not much, but atm, it's all i can squeeze. Shoot me a pm if interested, would mean a great deal.

Response to: Mouse or Tablet? Posted July 6th, 2012 in Animation

Ordered Wacom Bamboo tablet a few weeks ago, 80 euro incl shipping.
Accuracy, feel, featureset - everything is perfect. I even use it as a mouse for my netbook. Definitively worth the money.

I don't want to be payed or anything like that. I'll write anything from simple things, all the way to serious emotional and in-depth stories. Comment or PM me, anytime, and I'll respond as soon as I can.
Response to: Mouse or Tablet? Posted June 12th, 2012 in Animation

Mouse
Pros: Cheap. You already own it.
Cons: Everything else

Table
Pros: The only real freedom to draw. Specially the Cintiq series, together with photoshop, makes drawing on paper with a pen, feel unresponsive and hideous.
Cons: Cheaper tablets have a some noticeable lag. More expensive tablets can be heavy on the pocket if you have no income

Response to: Animation Pricing Posted June 12th, 2012 in Animation

Yes, i get that. But at what point is it no longer worth the price, and the quality cant justify the cost.
Also, what is a great value for the buck, without ripping off the contractor nor the artist.

Response to: Tell me how this sounds Posted June 12th, 2012 in Writing

Ye, no1 replies on the storylines, as you actually have to read those.

To me, it seemed a little vague. If you would put more emphasis on the creation and defeat, preferably with a lot of gore and suffering, it might turn out to be a neat story. As for now, it seems like a very rough outline, that can be somewhat dull

Animation Pricing Posted June 12th, 2012 in Animation

I am wondering how much is it appropriate to charge for an animated clip.
It would be an intro to a game for mobile devices. About 15 sec. Quality drawn and animated, yet under friendly indie rates.

Response to: Game Storyline - would you play it Posted June 5th, 2012 in Writing

Oh how i hate that there is not edit option...
It seems that every apostrophe was replaced by EUTM
In one of the final sentences, it should say: throughout the fall to DEFEAT The Boss

Game Storyline - would you play it Posted June 5th, 2012 in Writing

I am making a 2.5D shooter that was inspired by the madness series. I am wondering is the story is compelling enough to base the game around it. Here is a quick storyline that will be told through the game:

Flash cinematic/animation
This is a story about a man. Every morning heâEUTMs alarm clock goes off 10 min early, so he can snooze for another 15. Cold shower, fresh cup of coffee, morning cigarette, early traffic, itâEUTMs all a part of his daily ritual.

He makes it to the office with 5 minutes to spare, flirts with the receptioniste, makes an other cup of coffee.

Collecting intelligence, analyzing data and mailing reports is what he does. We see an analog clock moving through time. The files on his desk are piling up. 12:00 , he makes another cup of coffee. The clock keeps rolling, the files keep stacking, no time for coffee.

Around 4 pm, he falls asleep. The Boss walks in, pulls him up over the desk and makes a terrorizing roar. Filled with disgust and anger, he strikes the man with a hardened fist, blood splashes across the room. He throws the man through the window.

We see a skyscraper, a window breaks, a man starts falling, slowly nearing the concrete ground. Zoom on the face, he loses consciousness.

Gameplay
As he falls, his mind enters a mental state, where he relives fragments of the past, with a chance to do things differently.

Stage 1: Weakness
We are placed in a highschool/college. You see students talking, walking, living.. When you walk further, a bully is terrorizing a kid. A fight breaks out... After you defeat the bully, the lights go out, armed men storm the room, and so a fight breaks out again, a gunfight that is.
After finishing the level with a lot of dead bodies, blood and violence, you get a chance to fight the final boss. Could be a giant bully, could be a school principal.

[Before each stage we get a glimpse of the falling cinematic, each time brighter and more colorful]

Stage 2: Fear.

Fighting zombies/spiders/demons etc. The final level could be a room with a bed or a closet, that unleashes a boss.

Stage n: ...
âEU¦

Final Stage

Cinematic: The character wakes up just as his boss walks in. He pulls the man up over the desk, fist blocked. The man strikes back, throwing the boss across the room. Boss flees.

In this stage you are fighting office managers, IRS personnel etc. After you catch up with the boss, youâEUTMll have to use all the tricks learned throughout the fall to The Boss.

-----------------

If you think that the general idea is weak or uninteresting, please do share. If you have any key elements to add or corrections, any help is welcome.

Response to: Composer looking for work (unpaid) Posted May 28th, 2012 in Collaboration

Free portfolio work is probably every starting indie developer wet dream.

It just happens that it's exactly what i can offer you. I need menu theme music, for a game inspired by Madness, hitting iOs and Android market somewhere in September. Depending on flash 11 performance, might also be playable here on newgrounds for beta testing. 2D art will be crafted by shad, who floods the front page of the art section with boobs and delicious asses.

Oh wow, and actual drawing. Tnx man.
For easy animation and skinning, i am excluding the legs and the arms. Only feet and hands.

Here is a screenshot of the placeholder that i am using atm. But it needs to be a bit more badass. Later i'll be adding armor and accessories

Need Character Concept Sketch Posted May 24th, 2012 in Collaboration

Bonjorno fellow newgrounders,

I am looking for an artist to design en sketch a character for the upcoming game. The project somewhat resembles madness universe, with fast pasted, highly violent action. Character has curved body structure, floating head, arms and legs.

The game uses flash 11 3D engine, and is played from the sideview, where the main hero spreads pain and horror to anyone who dare to cross his.

Quick black and white sketch is all that i need. If you can help in any way, please let me know.

regards, Pepper
