I have obtained a new USB tablet, The wacom bamboo. Its a pretty but rough little tablet but i have been using it as my primary new approach.
As most people know the annoying bugs caused Fear Unlimited 2 Issue 1 to not succeed as well as planned. And it is unexcusable.
I have come to realise from the past few games that the people who beta consistantly for me are unreliable. And the ones i got ahold of special for Issue 1 either only said theyd beta so theyd get to play it or were just fucking with me.
Either way i put the blame on them.... well not entirely but I beta tested about 6 times. and nemesis can velch for me on this i spent 2 weeks complaining about how long it was taking to test.
And i did literally defeat every bug i found.
Now knowing the main concerns (Albeit at the cost of Fu2 Issue 1s popularity) I can move on and build apon. This is my first game with real platforming elements that i didnt have a tutorial on how to make. If you can recall the early element adventure, it had platforms but i made that game based on a few tutorials.
I have made a add on and get rid of list.
Get rid of pole swinging and pole climbing. theyre just no fun in 2D and impossible to animate well.
Fix the Health gauge code to empty even when the player dies. A number of people have died with the Health gauge still having a fragment of green left. This leaves some confused and angry.
and a number of more things.
The first thing i will say to those looking forward is that I am using a new art style and now that im not dealing with trying to get the game done by 08 I can relax and be more thorough with my drawings.
there were a number of rushed ones with odd faces.

I can also say that Issue 2 is being ported from Actionscript 1.0 to 2.0 maybe 3.0 depending on if i have the patience to put up with putting all the code on a frame.
What i plan to do is redo the main base of the game which is over a year old. Im much better with actionscript now than i was then and this should eliminate all this code being handeled by flash player and therefore reduce lag for people with weaker computers.
I must say that I wish i had done this in actionscript 2.0 sooner to say the least. There is quite a few new features.
I can also say the bulk of the bug complaints. Well i looked into the bugs for a little while. I am 80% sure i know the causes of each one by now. I can promise to fix em anytime soon my drive is being extensively frigged at the time and i am occupied working on a few things.
But I would like to know if the upped artwork and upping the actionscript is a good idea seeing as it will take a longer time but will prove to be worth it.
