Indeed, proxies war is the chess game of powerful nation since the end of the coldwar. They usually just move pawn around but when they see an opportunity, shit hit the fan. Like what happenned in Syria, Lybia, and many other countries.
Killing nearly 50 of your fighters and massive number of civilians to prove Assad is a bad guy when we already know that is a waste of ressource. Concidering they need the local support to keep them into hiding make it an horrible move. It was confirmed that civilians were coerced into pro-Assad manifestation early when the conflict started, so those testimonies are highly suspicious. Even more so because there is counter testimonies saying it was Assad doing. And yes, someone opinion in interview is worthless to me. Concidering those proof are to be found on ground taken back by Assad force, they can plant whatever they want and pretend it belong to rebels. Finaly, concidering what they call proof of rebel use of sarin gas is highly inadequate for handling and militarising sarin, the rebels trying to handle it would probably die from poisonning before being able to make anything with the nerve agent.
Estimates goes from claim of 1729 dead to 355 confirmed dead from MSF, a reliable source. Because it was a night attack, complete familly may be rotting inside some houses and nobody will find them for a while.
Concidering casualty and the scale of the attack, the report of only 20 rockets seem slim for even the lower estimate. There was probably more to find. If I was a rebel, I would definitivelly not waste this kind of arms on my own position hoping for outside help. Especially after the outside help refused to move in several times already. At least I would not poison some of the most strategic and significant positions I need to hold.
Rebel would need shitload of sarin to kill 1000 individuals. It is extremly toxic, yet very volatile and the attack is carried out in open air. It would be difficult for rebels to bring a full truck of toxic liquid, but it's not very difficult for Assad. Also, NATO cannot supply this kind of weapon to rebels because of Israel.
Then the people who take care of the deads are not sick you say? Big deal, one hour after the attack, victims are contamined yet hardly dangerous.
Using gas is not so much a military move. It more a political move to prove is allies he have nothing to fear from the US. The psychological impact is also devastative on is enemies. But he is pushing is luck a bit too far.
Feoric is correct. Simply put, every chemical attack is a slap to Obama face. He can pretend for a while the rebel could be responsible and there's a lack of proof, but it can't hold forever. They are going for some sabre rattling, gather intel, and take out chemical weapons from a safe distance. Then the war will simply resume. There was some hope for Syria in case of quick defeat or death from Assad. But the sad truth is; the war is now bad guys versus bad guys with civilians in the middle. The west have no interest in supporting any side.
Look like he... I mean she, got 35 years. But new plot twist, this topic should be renamed Chelsea Manning.

Hum... I can't pretend to be an expert on this. But the older the story is, the smaller the actual flood may have been. If the story is true at all. Back when dying at 20 was average, a lucky older prankster could make all the make believe he want. Then the story have 10 000 years to spread around. There was no internet or education back then.
It's possible a massive earthquake in the sea created a massive tsunami before human started spreading around. A meteor could have done the same and left no trace because the sea absorbed the impact. Such event can leave a mark in mankind imagination for a while.
Whatever the source is, then individuals with agenda rewrote it and invented stuff like being divine punishement. It probably interwined with hundred of separate events over time because some people couldn't make the difference between these stories. Now every culture have a version, and I don't think any of them are true to the actual event.
The Minoan eruption of Thera (between 1700 bc and 1500 bc) could be the source of this story. Back then the Mediterranean coastline had a large population. Also, it was so huge it affected climate.
Weird, I score right where Gandhi stand.

Genociding 1 600 000 individuals would be easy enough and a decisive victory over the minor concentration of terrorists and those sympathiser among them. That's just killing 1 human out of 5 anyway, we can do it anytime. It's for a good cause right?
Actually, if you take people who never played a game before, that's pretty much the result you should expect. Press A: jump. Press B: apparently did nothing. Move around, see a goomba, wonder what happen when they touch it and die. They know what an enemy is now, yet they don't know bonus even exist, so they just dodge everything. See a pit, wonder what is at the bottom or don't even understand that it's supposed to go out of the screen, die again. That's 2 lives wasted learning, lack of finger coordination can easily take the last one. They may even want to touch the first goomba again just to make sure this is really why they died, or maybe they didn't even tryed to jump yet.

Exactly, same concept with some small differences. But with another name on it.

It is indeed legal inside the US for this reason. Yet, without authorization from foreign countries, the US gov hold no right to do mass spying on people living in those places. And most of those other gov have law punishing spying. Of course, those countries may not be willing or in position to punish the US.
I rarely agree with you Lumber, but you tell the truth. Anyway, web advertising compagnies spying on us since the dawn of internet probably laugh very hard at all of us and the gov.
My point is that I don't care how much, how, or for what reason the gov break the law and try to get away with it.
Gov broke the law, Snowden anwser by doing it too. Fair enough for me. Doesn't mean I think of him as a hero. He's just a guy who decided he had to act and took a questionnable decision.
So if someone of the governement was raping child being close door and no one could report it because it is put under the top secret tag and they are bind by no diclosure agreement contract since when they started working for him; they are traitor too?
The logic that law=right is fucked.
You guys in Brasil need more guns and less tax.
If by real water physics you mean particule based, then I don't know any game like that.
All the water in video game I know are polygon based with texturing giving the illusion of water. And for the best water, some forces applying to the polygon model, objects, and characters.
Prostitution is not legal in Texas. By definition, an escort is pay to simply hang around with you.
Finally a place where you can protect yourself and what you own!
I'm a bit sad for that guy. Nighmare seem like harsh punishement for doing what was right.
I would feel very confortable. I would just sit back and keep buying everything until I own the whole world by the pocket.
Keep preparing military in case someone realise they must destroy us when they still can. That military will be needed to repress trouble made by ''extremist fringe'' around the world eventually anyway. You know, terrorists, armed citizens, free thinker, artists, those pesky syndicates, someone who said something I don't like, people who search what they shouldn't on internet, and whoever is not my slave or member of the party.
Who will keep those in line after other countries will end up so poor and in dept they won't even be able to keep a correct military anyway? They will need me!
The surprising new is that someone out there is surprise and didn't knew about it.
Future look grim for him. A best he get 20 years of jail. But concidering he gave intelligence indirectly, death penalty is much more likely.
Actually, it's pretty small in some case.
But this specific tech will not work at all. Your grip at the shooting range will be nothing like the grip you will have when in a real shooting because of the stress involve. In short, they sell you a gun you can shoot relaxed, but won't work in a real situation. Of course, police officer guns wouldn't use that kind of tech, only civilian ones.
Some biometric reader can be fooled by humid printed paper. Adding a 1 millimeter glue layer mold of the original owner finger over the reader doesn't seem much of a problem. Now you could make a very precise scanner, but can you imagine if your gun fire only half the time because the scanner is unsure about the reading?
Another option if someone can crack the code would be to change the code: ''FIRE if new reading = template reading'' to ''FIRE if template reading = template reading''. Any software can be hacked if you have the time to study it.
Another option would be to remove (ex: magnetic system) or block the mechanic preventing fire to stay in fire position. (this may make the gun more dangerous if linked to the regular safety)
As you may know, this technology is very limited right now. Also I cannot imagine the trouble of adding biometric to all guns, it mean you can't change hand, wear gloves etc... Not talking about checking if battery is dead or not.
The tech not limited by contact would be the useless voice activation that will never work when you're stressed or when there is sound of gun shooting around you. Chip that can be cloned, and who want a chip inside is finger so he can fire a gun anyway? Bracelet or card can be given away.
I just doesn't see how that proposal could work.
The biometric readers could be interesting. Except they will be hacked and deactivate for a small fee by a ''friend'' so anyone can use them. At best, those change will lead to an small increase in cost for guns on the black market.
Oh god you're stupid.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say people from the internet voted. Aka: trolls, kids, and gamers.
The timing is also very effective since this happened just after the CEO resignation and loose in sales. They say they don't care but they do: http://www.ea.com/news/we-can-do-better
Oh and I absolutely love this rewriting: http://www.dorkly.com/article/51363/eas-reponse-to-being-nam ed-the-worst-company-in-america
It's more about the bad press and realizing how much of a bad name they have on the internet (those kids and gamers are the one they want to sell game to after all).
Just imagine this scene at EA:
-Hi boss
-What's the news?
-We won't worst company award again...
-What?
-Yeah people on the internet don't care about breaking laws and destroying the planet as much as they hate online pass, micro transactions and that kind of stuff.
-Uh... I can't think of a solution, can you put a team on it?
-Right away sir!
