It's plain to see that the parents have only the child's well being in mind. Who are we, free of the pain and emotional suffering brought on by such a situation, entitled to judge those who are with such severity? The harm is done; she was born into the world as she is and fully entitled to her dignity and fundamental human rights.

The innocence of childhood should be allowed to remain within her. A fully developed body would not only be a physical discomfort but a taboo overshadowing the purity of her mind and heart.

There's a major flaw in this argument. Pepperoni pizzas will never see the light of day in an Arab nation.

On a side note.. How in the hell can one benefit from the positive effects of a strong economy if you can't even be insured basic security? Who would truly (apart from American interests trying to make a quick buck) invest in such an unstable environment? Is it really likely some internationally renown company would ever dream of building a multi-million dollar HQ in downtown Baghdad? Come on...

I think the perspective of the outsider is of a negative polarity by default because of the media. We either see the inner-city school with metal detectors or the backwards, backwater schools of the deep south. As a Canadian, I did think so as well in the past.

Having benefited from the honour of a partial scholarship in the US, I can attest to the country's passion and quality of education. Useless bashing of the United States is so totally unwarranted, especially in this case.

I hate to speak against you, but the things and services he/she listed were all invented and thought up by Europeans. As much as you may hate the fact that we enslaved and conquered people of other races ( and in our history people of our own), we have elevated blacks to a point they probably would not have reached for another few hundred thousand years.

The problem runs deep, I agree. Like I said before, I'm for the resurrection of European pride, not for the debasement of others. My university club opens it's doors to all ( a point I pushed at the detriment of quite a few memberships) who wish to share in the knowledge and activities share and hold.

As for your point that the issue with blacks (and some whites) today is socially rooted, you're ABSOLUTELY correct. You know, if we whites were in proper condition to be helping you, I believe we should. I for one am working towards that, the renewal of our pride and culture.

You're right. I fear not many people are getting the gist of my posts. Showing pride in your heritage isn't bad in itself. I think we all have elements of our past that can enrich our common future.

Give them their bread and water, access to a hostel and elementary health facilities. Many would be motivated by the strife alone.

Of course for the physically and mentally unfit, decent standards of living should be granted.

The problem with these social aid programs is that there is not enough control and follow-through . Abuse is rampant.
