There's actually a part in the movie where a few security guards discuss the concept of a mexican gardener.

Hmm, I think I may have written this movie, but someone stole it from my mind in a dream.

Wait, wait, what? I saw the trailer over at Planet Terror, I didn't think it was an actual bloody film. Unless you're screwing with me. Are you screwing with me? I think screwing with me. Unless it's a film.

My world is upside down.

I get it, but I guess I don't have much right to comment on what people think. I'm no professional and probably won't become one, after all.

I think I've decided that the people are interested in the artists creation, rather than the artists themselves.
Just like I don't care where stuff came from, I'm just glad we have it. (in most cases, anyway).

Thats weird. So we appreciate art, but not artists? I don't really understand how you can appreciate only the fruit of one's work. I mean, if I'm thankful for having food every night, I wouldn't be thankful to the food, but to the person who got me the food. Weird.

again, I really appreciate what you say but you are not giving me specific examples. As in "the shading is either not very strong or not completely correct" I can not see where it is not correct. If I had known where it was not correct I would have fixed it on my own. How would you recommend making the head look more "melon-like"? Where would be a fine place to make the shading "stronger"? Also, there is only one light source and it is from the top right.

One last thing, I am completely unconcerned with adding my own style to this particular piece. I intended to mimic the style of madness combat in this piece alone, I often do use my natural style on my other drawings (they are not on this site because they are not digital)

Thank you so much for putting you two cents in! You are really getting me thinking on this picture, keep it up!

Right now you only have two different shades- mid tone and dark. Add a highlight, then a tone between that and your midtone. Then do a very dark and a shade inbetween the dark and the mid tone. As for you not putting your own style into this, thats not a good idea imo. It looks like madness combat, nothing really special about it. Add some style into it, and make a more complex background. Keep working on it though!

Third...just because you feel (and you are entitled to your own whining opinion) that I am complaining....I don't see any of your art work entered in this calendar contest and I was speaking on behalf of having art that doesn't suck....and feel that it would doa NewGround Calendar position proud.
Forth and Final: you just validated my statement of the same NewGrounders feeling that they are superior to others...needing to beat others down...when in fact...that is really your insecurity.

Ignoring first, going to second...
I didn't say you didn't know what creative art is. (what am I following, though?) Saying that those same people who win because there good shouldn't win doesn't display your knowledge very well. Also saying universal like that is stupid.
third... You are complaining jackass. And now your complaining that I'm entitled to my own opinion.

(And I shouldn't have to apologize to anyone for saying up front....that I don't think by any means that the calendar this year would suck...or should it have to be turned into a random art contest for the lack of composition or competition...Time to start showcasing all of us....this is NGs after all Everything, by everyone...not just the few, the proud and cliqued. (there now I have vented....i don't have heartburn anymore....followed by a big, soda-like belch) Peace

It would be everything by everyone, but then it wouldn't be a contest, you moron. You're getting shot down because your art isn't that creative, or good. The same artists are put up because they are creative, and good. And it's not hurtful to lose a contest, you should only expect to win if you think you can compete with the others. tl;dr, stop whining like a bitch, bitch.
