This character reminds me of bad poetry. He's supposed to be a hero, but we're supposed to appreciate his differences? I would feel more inclined to feel bad for him if he came to save me, rather than root for him.

Depends, what is she?
A priestess, a magician, a shaman, etc. It all depends on that.

I was thinkin more of a druid-shaman.

Your opinion on the matter does make sense, and I actually thought about it some after I posted; she is trying to express something here, (even if it is completely ridiculous and even if it is something not many really want to see expressed), she does inspire (usually ugly) emotion, and she does put effort into it, so it could very well be considered art.

That said, it's still certainly insanity. Not my cup of tea.

Considered art? yes, but this is what makes the arts look bad to me; when people try to validate bullshit like this by saying "well, its art". It changes how people look at artists, from talented painters and writers to edgy people trying to be "new" and "different". It just annoys me, that this can be considered (technically) art.

It looks great (the hands especially), though pretty unrefined. It's a WIP, though, so keep at it. This could be really good when finished.

How could I refine it a bit more? I am going to put in a background, if thats what your diggin at.
And Kashi, thanks, Imma flip it to see this.

All i can say about this is become an architect. You have the will to finish your art and drawings completely, which is something i lack the patience to do. Nice work.

I kind of like this idea; I'll think of what I could do with it.

Something that would go in the air would be cool, too, since I have this huge patch of blank wall above my bed in my new room (recently moved), so filling that could be nice. Maybe a zeppelin of some sort? Hot air balloon? Hmmm...

Zeppelin would be cool, but i call the city idea as my own. I have three rolls of masking tape in the garage, and im about to get shit done

Meh, this isn't anything special, I'm just bored and want to post something for the most part.

That'd be pretty cool if a larger one was done. If you could make an entire cityscape on a wall. I might try that, too.

What the hell?
There's a fairly noticeable line between insanity and art. This is the prior. She's just trying to shock people and make them uncomfortable; hell, she even said so several times in the video.

I hate "art" like this. I mean getting plowed in front of twenty people isn't art, neither is shoving spaghettios into yourself.

Hola.

I just finished a piece of 'art' and I would like to hear what you guys think. I have only just moved from scribbling to actually trying to draw. This is probably one of my better pieces for three reasons.

1. Because (from what I see) the porportions are good.

They are. Not great, a couple things off, but still, "good".

2. Because it is original

By which you mean, not anime or fanart, yes. If you mean something new and interesting, to me, no.

3. Because it isn't anime

has a few anime traits, sorta an inbetween of anime and modern cartoon style.

Nothing against anime it is just that I can't actually become a good drawer when I stick to one genre.

good point.

Oh and before you ask I had to import the picture from a camera, so that line at the bottom is a crease X(

Thanks in advance

your welcome.

Damn. She locked alot of good threads. That kinda pisses me off. I had an idea and everything.
Why was it locked? Boss was being a tool (par normal) and kashi was just trying to make something work.
the post before it got locked was awesome though.

Sketchbook pro and photoshop are very different. Sketchbook pro is too free form for me, not enough tools or options to do what I want.

Anyway, I wanted to ask you guys something.
Did you guys enjoy highshool? I mean, really enjoy it, not just get by, but have it the best four years of your life?
Because for me, its just sorta meh. I've met alot of new people, got new friends, the classes are good, but I still don't actually "like" highshool.

Response to: Ypok's Portfolioodle Posted September 25th, 2010 in Art

can I just say that your stuff is awesome? It's like a throwback to looney tunes and stuff. Your characters would look very nice in animations, they look like they really would bend and flop about. Great stuff!
