Contradictions, kashi...
Anyway, it lacks a background, the gradients are pretty bad, on any piece, you shouldn't use gradients, the line quality is extremely inconsistent....

Response to: What should i improve im my art? Posted October 4th, 2010 in Art

its pretty bad. Generic cat girl thing, line quality is horrendous. Also, I would delete that hentai shit on your portal, this isn't deviantart, no one masturbates to it but possibly you.

Also, if i sound like a dick, thats because i am one.

Response to: Layers or Canvas? Posted October 4th, 2010 in Art

For me, it really depends what im doing. If I'm doing a portrait and I want to emulate paint, I only use one layer to color and sketch on, for instance, this was all done on one layer. However, if i'm either doing a larger piece or a character, I generally have a layer of sketches, lineart, colour and backgrounds.

Response to: Democracy's sketchbook! Posted October 3rd, 2010 in Art

I wanted to do a portrait with out using photoshops opacity: often times, whenever I use opacity, I overpaint a bunch, and I end up not being satisfied with the result, which I think is what happened with the last one; to combat this, I am painting the following portrait; I also needed to start referencing more, as I am starting to develop a method for drawing portraits; which is something that is really bad to do.

Your not very good at art. Your avoiding fundamentals, coloring terribly, stupid subject matter, trying to emulate a style thats not yours, etc, etc. Simply putting off-color people saying "fuck me in the ass" (which appears in every other piece of yours) doesn't give you that trippy, edgy style your trying to give yourself. Being edgy and weird doesn't make you an artist; it makes you someone who's trying far too hard. Your responses to people within this thread are stupid, immature, and useless, as we are people who are actually trying to help you, while you completely ignore them and continue doing your drawings as if they hadn't said anything.
I don't know if you're taking art seriously or not, and honestly, I don't give a fuck. Frankly, I think you're not for the reasons i stated above.

TL;DR: Stop trying to emulate decent artists style and learn the basics first; stop tring to be a stupid, edgy fuck; and lastly: TROLL HARDER FAGGOT

Response to: Stylized vs. Realsim / Semi-realism Posted September 30th, 2010 in Art

Im more inclined to be happy with stylized art, but i feel more accomplished when I do realism. It seems harder to me, so when I am succesfull in it, I am proud of myself.

Response to: Democracy's sketchbook! Posted September 29th, 2010 in Art

I don't like theology, therefore I draw instead.
The thing that sucks about it is that there's this girl that sits next to me; as soon as i start to draw, she whips out drawing stuff and starts drawing fuckin dragons and unicorns. Everyone starts ooing and awing over it, then she starts yapping about how she was the best artist in school, which she is not, as their are some very talented upperclassmen.
Anyway, I fucking hate her. Next semester she is also in my art class, which sucks, because she can't draw people, landscapes, or anything more than furry animal shit and dragons. ALL FUCKIN DAY. I hate her.

Normally, I don't like anime styled art- but yours is pretty awesome. Its eyes and stuff are so big and different, it looks like your parodying it, rather than complimenting it. Your stuff is the shit.

lol he's not really a fish or anything, just lumpy. I kind of wanted to do some crosshatching to add depth between him and the banner, but it just gets confusing and doesn't look particularly good. For now I'm not going to crosshatch him so he still stands out, but may add some on the bottom if i can get it to look good.

My bad, I just say lumps and eyes looking in different directions. Thats what a fish looks like to me. I understand, though, sometimes simplicity is better than overdoing something. Great work, man.

You would probably down it to about fifty cents a square inch, but just a thought.
