I think so.

I don't. Eyes are far too large and high up. Nose should be shorter, and mouth is awkwardly placed. Also, the overall headshape should be shorter.

Its pretty bad, both your art and the videos. What are you trying to make? it looks like a sunflower with a wooden stick coming out of it. Think about what you're trying to accomplish before drawin.

Yeah I'm just now realizing the off placement. Together, they took me about 35 minutes. The one on the right took a bit more time due to the awkward angle and whatnot. But thanks!

Response to: Democracy's sketchbook! Posted October 20th, 2010 in Art

Some sketches i ripped out in art class. I was pretty happy with both of them, though something seems off on the one to the left... Its either the animu eyes or weird nose that i forgot to shade partially. The right one is a pseudo self portrait; I used myself as a reference.

I haven't scanned for a long time!

Still not much improvement, though its nice to see pencil and paper. I think you should decide what your doing, I can't see whether your going for a cartoony vibe or a realistic one.

First off, happy birthday jonny!
Related to that, photoshop had crashed on me once more, and that reminded me why i hate the software so much. So, i want to try out corel's software. Ive heard good things about it, and i would download a trial, but i've already used it about a month ago, for what reason, i can't remember. Anyway, I would just like to know a bit about it; does it crash often, how does it handle the things photoshop can? Ie, blending colors, color selection, simplicity, etc.
Thanks ;)

Im a little worried about starting an entire composition. Ive got quite a bit on my plate at the moment, between tests in high school and everything else in my life. Next semester, im starting an arts course, so ill probably have a lot more then. Quick question: what do you mean by full composition?

Its not bad at all, everyone gets pruned at one time or another. Its dissapointing, im sure, but really not that big of a deal. You shouldn't get too discouraged over this, try to look at it as something to improve yourself with. Thats what i do; if im not scouted yet, i obciously need to improve.

Response to: Art Forum Lounge Posted October 11th, 2010 in Art

Have you guys ever gotten into a niche where you just can't draw? Im kinda stuck in one right now. I try to draw something, and it just won't come out. I'll try to draw a portrait, or a still life, or anything, for that matter. Its incredibly frustrating and upsetting. How do you get out of this?

Quit bugging me about the hands. I KNOW all about my problem with hands. I'm still working on that and feet.

If you took time to look through other art forums and whatnot you would realize the reason people make sketch threads is for critique and help, not for compliments, which seems to be what you want at the moment. If your working on your hands, then show us how you're doing that, practice them, do some studies, if you know about it, then fix it.

Im tired of all your damn excuses, be a man about getting your art criticized.

I can't remember who said this, but it goes here too, if all you wanted was praise and compliments, then tape it to your fridge. Newgrounds obviously isn't for you.

Like I said it's got some slight problems and one of my earlier posts explains the hands and why the right one is lost in detail. the sword is based off of an OLD keyblade design of mine and the lightsaber design of The Force unleashed. And, another sword of mine you can find in my gallery. :)

I'm going to try to say this nicely. Stop making excuses; admit it's wrong instead of continuously covering up; its getting old.

I don't fight like everyone else because it doesn't work for me. I find that the most uncommon styles work better.

Your style is actually not that uncommon, its been reiterated on almost every other da piece.

That and an odd pose is meant to throw your enemy off guard. Even if it seems wrong.

No, seriously, stop covering up your mistakes with excuses, its quite obnoxious.
Lastly; criticism. Actually fix his hands; i don't care if its a fancy grip, he's holding it wrong and it looks weird. HIs pose also seems a little bit off, as said before. If you don't fix these things, at least consider them.
Post more art, less excuses.

sorry if i sound like a dick

Triple facepalm.

I already KNOW the flaws in my art and I don't need to be reminded of them constantly.

Then fix them.

I didn't post this thread to learn. If I want help I'll ask for it. If I'm having problems with anything in particular I'll ask someone BETTER than you to tell me how to fix it.

Don't know how many people you know that will want to help an arrogant closet furry like you, but go ahead and try.

Apart from that, I don't give a flying fuck about NG. I'm only here to get my art noticed LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

So, basically, you only want attention and people to love your art. See ya at DA, asshole. Also, if you don't give a fuck, why are you flipping out?

I appreciate constructive criticism a lot. But all I've read so far is "That looks bad. You need to fix it. Spend more time on your art."

That is constructive criticism; have you tried to do any of that? didn't think so.

None of you have even hinted at HOW to fix it or what might help fix it.

bullshit, you've gotten two red lines showing how to fix things. OH NO THERE'S A PENIS I BETTER HAVE A PERIOD! just gtfo.

I've said my piece and I'm not saying anything more on the matter. If you have a problem with that oh freaking well! I'm not responding to anything further on this post unless it actually has a purpose and meaning that I consider worth replying to.

If you respond to this post, the trolls win. Try to fucking resist, you stupid faggot.

I'm stating his predominant species. An anthro or furry is a creature with both human and animal characteristics. Much like the old disney cartoons except I actually put detail in my work.
