More observational studies, working with warm and cool values once more.
More studies. Assignment was to create depth through use of warm and cool colors.
Never really used oil paints before, I'm not a huge fan of how long they take to dry, but it is nice to be able to completely redo a part of the painting just by wiping it off.
art school has kept me pretty busy, but I've finally got a bit of a break.
Here's some of the stuff I've been up to, mostly observational studies
I drew kirby and bandana-dee (bandanadee?) as if they were the protags in an 80s brocop action movie
Really dope stuff in this thread man. Keep it up!

I really like a lot of the design choices in dota 2. One of the more interesting ones to me is Bane's design. I really like drawing him, all his lines and gradients are a lot of fun.

Hi guys! I feel like I only ever post here when I'm on some sort of break. Anyway, I'm gonna post some of my sketchbook I've been toying with. A lot of my finished pieces are still up at the school (graduation is tomorrow, and that's when I'll take them home), so it will be a bit until I can upload pics of them.
Recently I've had a lot of fun drawing really organic looking things.
I was actually really happy with how this drawing turned out. I wanted to do a sort of pattern thing, and I think I've always really liked the way blues and yellows contrast of eachother.
Some more of these doodles I like to do.
have some more stuff to show! I really like practicing these pure contour drawings, where you don't look at your paper and just try to get a feel for really looking at what you're drawing. It helps me pay attention to what things actually look like rather than what they should look like.
I like to do these doodles when I get tired of studies and other boring stuff.
Little drawing of me.

More figure studies. Playing around with linework, not really sure how I feel about it. I'd like to move into a more illustrative style, and I guess that's what I'm attempting ahah

It's traveling the unfamiliar path and trusting yourself you can develop your own unique process.
Drawing freely with confidence from your imagination.
Even if you're unsure with the end product it's just discovery. A reason to add more to your personal visual library.
First off, I don't think I've ever mentioned in your thread that I love your work. Reminds me a lot of Phil Noto's stuff. And thanks for the advice, I've asked around a bit elsewhere from here, and it seems like the general consensus is to practice a shit ton and borrowing and watching others.
Thanks for the advice!
