But no, practice, lots of practice, shit tons of just drawing over a period of years, over and over and over again.

Response to: 2009 Holiday Card Exchange Posted November 23rd, 2009 in Art

I'd prefer to do a digital card but I'd need to find a decent printer, maybe at school.
I could always do something with pencils but digital'd be much nicer looking.
Either way sign me up.

Tail?

You gonna add a background so like everyone's standing in a forest or in a cave or something??

I was actually thinking about a couple backgrounds today. Might sketch up a few tonight.

perhaps you could get someone else to make a background!

That's always a possibility, but i'd prefer this to be 110% my doing.

I'v also been thinking about putting people like Johnny Utah and Luis, big people in the art forum but not necessarily regulars.

Instead of holding a hammer, have a head on a stick or something.

Give the puke at least an outline, it looks funky to have lines than no lines, for the chin, I think it can stay if you do 2 things, make it a similar color ti the green and than drip into different colors, and give it an outline.

A heaping pile of thanks to you for including me in there, I really like the design and never thought of my username looking like that! XD

At first I was just going to draw a T-rex than figured That would be way to big, so for some reason I started drawing s hirt and just went with it.
I am giving far too many people generic striped shirt.

Finished product is going to be so incredibly badass, I think it will make for a killer desktop wallpaper when it's done, so keep at it my friend!

Yeah that's what I had originally though this out for, defiantely going to use it though, probably for a long time with how much work I'm doing with it. and Cloud brought up the poster idea, which would be friggen awesome but I don't think any one other than the regs would buy it, if even them. But it's fun as hell, especially at the expense of others :)

I'm really satisfied with the faces of the past 2 updates, Specifically JKA's TOAS's, and McJesus's
I just want to point out, that I draw these in their own files, than drag them into the group at any spot that's open, so if anyone looks particularly angry at anyone, looks surprised at a certain vacuum with a beard, or say, looks like they are about to chomp off your head, it is completely unintentional.

vacuum is a funny word.....Vacuum.

Technically he did not ask, but than again, what's the point of saying it? Saying you aren't hinting at it insinuates that you had the intention of possibly getting scouted from doing this.

I know the two are vastly different, but something similar can be achieved, right?

Anyone have any suggestions? Brush/sensitivity settings and whatnot?

It's mostly that paper has texture, tablet's are smooth and pick up every movement you make. When I got my tablet my lines were very squiggly because I have a very unsteady hand, but just from practice, I'v gotten used to it. Quicker strokes also helps

It's fine to have your sig on there, but either put it in a corner or around the art, not over it, or make it transparent.
