been thinking of a few game ideas however i suck and barely understand how any of it works.

i know a lot of games and movies take a lot of time and what not.

one idea i have had is a game where you are a small child stuck in a dream world. basically a platform puzzel like game where you are trying to wake up from grusom nightmares. in this game checkpoints would be lampstands which illuminate past the dream world onto a part of your room. there will be different monsters to defeat (for now they will be called nightmares.)

your character will be aided by either a floating light ball or a smartmouthed teddy bear not really sure at the moment.

another idea i have had was where you play as a zombie.

the goal is pretty simple. make it to the end without being killed. when your character kills someone they will become a zombie for short period of time. the more you eat the stronger you level earning extra powers or moves. this will help your character get to places harder to reach than most (like a lever you cant reach to open a door , if leveled up a power to throw your arm you can reach it)

then there is a fighting game however i know this will take a very long time to make because i want to give the option to create your own fighter. would be able to save your character and fight with others or take on the story mode which will have platformer stile batteling the minions however fighting style for the main characters.

i know all of these will take alot of work and will probably need a full team to work on including voice actors and animators. i will do what ever i can to help along the way. i know with a full team with fresh ideas and different skills we can pull off a few great hits and make a strong name for ourselves in the gaming world

I don't like the other game ideas, but I do find the first game rather intriguing. It could definitely be one of those hip new indie games if it's done right. I'd help out with that, though I'm not too familiar with traditional coding as of yet, but I am-at least according to people I know- a good writer/creator. I can tell if somethings good or not, basically. Also I'm a decent artist, who's familiar with digital art. I saw a new game on steam called ballpoint something, and I think that would be a really cool look for a game like this as well, but as the real world appears it could transform into a more modern pixel art style, like FEZ

I did get it for my computer, soon after I made this post, but I honestly prefer it on Xbox, it's much better in my personal opinion.

Some people have popup blockers. So I'd make it in the immediate website instead. Also if it has lots of pop ups it might lag out people computers. No fun.

Psychonauts Posted December 25th, 2013 in Video Games

Okay I need someones help because microsofts website sucks at giving you straight information.

I own psychonauts for the original xbox. I no longer own an original xbox, but I do have an Xbox 360.
My Xbox 360 previously did not have a Microsoft hard-drive. It does now.
In doing so I get a different error screen. Originally-prior to the instillation of the Hard-Drive, I would get a screen prompting me towards the conclusion that I needed a Hard-Drive. When placing my game into the tray it reads the disk and knows the game is Psychonauts but when clicking on it to play it says that I need to reinstall the game.
It's on a disk, so how/ why would I do that.

My 360 absolutely most definitely has a proper drive. The game is brand new, not pre-owned. Just got it again for Christmas, and my 360 is updated. Who knows the issue?

The color change is nice, but it appears that you aren't looking at color the way it should be seen yet. :p

The problem with painting is it is actually a very abstract process (at least in my opinion) though your colors are much nicer and a lot more realistic. I think you have quite a ways to go to master the 3D color spectrum.

Response to: Anchimayen's Art Posted December 12th, 2013 in Art

I only played around with the colors a little, and only really payed attention to the Goblin, but you can see how much color can alter the picture.

Response to: Anchimayen's Art Posted December 12th, 2013 in Art

The default Photoshop brush is very synthetic. and unless used to complete and utter mastery will always look semi awkward. With faking blending. The newer versions of Photoshop offer art brushes that paint like actual paint brushes. These are good because the stroking of the bristles actually create more realistic shading, and give it a more contemporary look. It's because when colors band together the eye mixes them and such.

Also I just realized your use of color is very basic. Light is not white, and shadows are not black. Instead play with hue, and saturation for you tones, instead of tints and shades. Shadows tend to be cooler, while highlights tend to be warmer. Ill do a quick example on your last drawing for you.

Response to: Anchimayen's Art Posted December 11th, 2013 in Art

Some nice pieces, but theres something weirdly off about them, I think it is either one of two things

Either A-You're not utilizing art brushes (the soft brush will always look unproffesional if its the only one used)
or B-You have weak line art.

But I think it's mostly A

The Infinite Game Battle Royale! Posted December 10th, 2013 in Collaboration

I came up with a fascinating idea before but I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to implement it or not. In light of my fun side though, I have decided to proceed with it.

What I propose is a game battle royale. Where I will post an idea for a game, and everyone can make their own version to see who's is the best. It's a simple concept but I thought it would be fun.
Any one can join and you can add anything you want as long as you don't compromise the original template. Ill probably get 5 people at most doing this so it shouldn't be too bad.

So first for the game design.
-Must be a platformer.
-Cannot parody Game Play obviously, but can do it subtly.
-Character must have a projectile ability
-there must be a main boss the character must defeat
-The game must feature at least 5 levels.

Simple enough

as for story. It must be about a boy, or girl defeating an evil doctor named DarkPrince. Cause why not, I wanna feel cool.
He/She must have some fatal flaw, and they must have a dark backstory.

I don't want to add too many rules so have fun. There's no due dates, we're just doing this for fun.

You can title the games anything but send them to me when they are done! Ill be joining eventually as well.

Art Portal. Posted December 10th, 2013 in Art

How do you get your content submitted to the art portal? Do lots of people just have to see it and be like "Yea that's good."

Because I have posted one or two things that I thought were just a tad bit better than some things on the portal, and I was curious as to why I wasn't up.

I don't mean to sound like "Oh I'm awesome I deserve to be up there." but I was just curious as to why my stuff isn't going up.

Looking for SFX artist. Posted December 7th, 2013 in Collaboration

Hello! I am in need of an SFX artist for my final fantasy fan game -"Final Fantasy's Future I the Bereavement of the Earth King"
I will be creating this for the next couple of months, and I need someone to make great old style sound effects for my game.
Sound effects that are similar to the SNES, or Playstation 1 at least.

Pm me with a portfolio or some examples please!

Looking for SFX artist.

Response to: Music Composer. Posted December 6th, 2013 in Collaboration

The photo right now is a beta without any finished art, but as you can see I'm using the classic Final Fantasy style. I have the systems built, mostly, and now I am developing the story. It's fairly complicated as it involves two sides and stemming opinions from both of them, so I expect the game to be fairly long for a flash game.
Anywhere from 1-5 hours long.
I can't release any official plot data right now as nothings set in stone, but as soon as I finish the plot I can Pm it to you if you'd like.

Music Composer. Posted December 4th, 2013 in Collaboration

Hello c: Right now I happen to be working on a Final Fantasy fan game. That is similar to the older games. I would of course need music for this. Would anyone be willing to write me some beautiful tracks for the game?

Pm or reply if you're interested.

Response to: Need full game crew Posted December 1st, 2013 in Collaboration

He is completely right. Make a beta and put it on NewGrounds, so you can see if it has an promise as a game. You don't want to work hard on a game that is just bad.

Could you send me some files for the original art that I can reference off of? We can start by having me redraw the first level or something c:

Response to: Final Warrior Remake - Need Artist Posted December 1st, 2013 in Collaboration

I can safely say that this game would have been a classic had it been made 30 years ago. I love your game. I am way more than willing to assist you in your endeavor! I also happen to make games in stencyl so you don't have to worry about program language barrier.

As long as the game isn't 1 to 10 minutes short .

Blatantly Corprate Posted November 7th, 2013 in Video Games

Ive always wondered if I was rude for this or not, but ever since a young age I've hated online games that follow this sort of formula.

Crappy rehashed gameplay, with unoriginal graphics style, and little gameplay/effort.
Tons of Ads
Long over the top intros for the gaming site the game came from
Large PLAY MORE GAMES everyfreakingwhere
Like on FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram, on every playing screen

I hate games like these. They must have a reason, and maybe even a good one, but I can't helped but be sickened by them. How do you feel?

Pokemon Platformer Posted November 5th, 2013 in Collaboration

Hello there right now I'm making a pokemon platformer game, and I would like some help creating it.
Would anyone be interested?
It is a story based platform/ARPG game.

Also I happen to use STENCYL for at the moment it's my only option. I'd prefer to work with someone who works on that platform.

Response to: i good at do pixel art Posted November 5th, 2013 in Art

Your work is slightly lazy. If you put a lot a lot a lot of time into your stuff itll be much more appealing. I know focusing for a long time is difficult, but I suggest if you really believe in yourself, that you should try it.

I also know pixel art is surprisingly hard. I'm a pretty darn good artist and I can't draw pixel art for my life lol.

Response to: Anyone Looking For A Game Designer? Posted November 4th, 2013 in Collaboration

I wasn't really planning on working with a lot of people for this project, but I just found your offer so inviting that I decided to go ahead.
At the moment I'm making an RPG-platforming game about pokemon. I'm not the most experienced programmer, and I use stencil to make games. I do have two games up on my page, so you can see what I've previously done.
If you're interested I'd like to work with someone such as yourself.

Stencyl User! Posted November 4th, 2013 in Collaboration

I know stencyl is super easy, and a great way to make games, but I would like to have another person helping me for a Pokémon platformer game I'm currently making. Please PM if you wanna help.
