The "Now playing" display - as you can see - doesn't show up anything except "Playing: by"
The Foreward and Backwards buttons doesn't do anything when being clicked. Same thing for the "Play" link that appears next to each title that is hovered with the mouse.

Holy shit, that's exactly what I wanted since forever °O°
OMG thanks glorious admins!

Funny how Youtube is one big money circle jerk. I bet they have pools of money where all the celebrities bathe together.
It's kind of like on Newgrounds only less dick jokes. And less money.

and less celebrities
....just circle jerking
Response to: Friend/Follows? Posted December 19th, 2012 in General

Seeing how Newgrounds has always endorsed their "community" aspect of the site, I was surprised this didn't come sooner.
I still think we need some sort of "feed" or "wall" for the people we follow. I mean, every block on frontpage has this button, except your favorites.
And the little star thingy does not replace it. It's still limited. I want a never ending page to scroll down on.

Any Feedback on how I could improve will be very appreciated. Cheers.

Too bad youtube doesn't have a forum right ;D
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that this isn't the place to ask for advice about youtube. They're kind of competition with Newgrounds I think. So ya....
Look on a different forum? :/
Or have someone from around here to make an animated promo video, submit it in the portal and get views that way! :)

At 12/10/12 04:15 AM, PoisonHeart wrote: Hmmm....so in October I had 632 impressions, and in November only about half that. yet, I earned twice as much REVENUE in November as I did in October.
Yes, I'm counting pennies here, but so what? My question is what actually determines the ad-rev split? is it fair to say that it's 1c per 100 impressions? That can't be right, because then I would have earned LESS in November, right?

I'm just trying to understand the business-end of Newgrounds and this all seems sort of confusing....

You're eCPM changes from time to time. For me it was like $0,68 last week and now its $1,05 or some shit. I bet its different by now.

Also. your eCPM is what you get for every thousand views. So if its $1, you'll get that every thousand views.
I don't know the exact science behind it, but that's what I've seen so far.

The best way to understand it is to check up on it daily and see how things are doing. It also doesn't harm to do some math and see how you get to certain numbers.

Pokemon game app? Posted December 10th, 2012 in General

I was browsing destructoid and I saw this "pokedex app". And then I felt that the next pokemon generation should also be an iOS app, and the region should be your current location on google maps.

Yes, it would be pretty hard to code and the idea is kind of vague, but wouldn't it be cool that they would port the pokemon franchise to your smartphone? I mean it's a pretty social game, with the trading and battling friends and whatnot. But if you want to play with local friends you need to have your DS with you etc.
But everyone always has their phone with them.

Any thoughts on this? Is it stupid? Anyone want to point out some obvious flaws with this simple idea?

besides finding the people to actually make the game cuz i dont care about that, all I care for is if the idea is super duper cool

If you draw and upload a lot of your stuff to the internet and you're really good you might get payed. Fuck education.
Anyway, I guess it depends on your region. Is animation big where you are? If not, don't bother or move to a place where it is big.
But who knows, if you end up studying animation a whole new world might open up to you that you never even considered.

You can motion tween and shape tween in flash. Use bones in 3d applications. By default key frames refers to mapping out your frames ahead of time and putting inbetweens/breakdowns in. Using f7 and just working it out as you go is referred to as going "straight ahead".
I know classic and motion tweening, but shape tweening? Huh?

You don't know about shape tweening? Well, it's pretty useless to be honest. So you're not missing out on a lot, I remember seeing some good tutorials about it back in the day, but I've seemed to have lost it so just check out this one.

Basically, it's a tool where you can shapes that aren't symbols, movieclips, buttons or groups. But if you're the creative type, you might find some cool things to use it for. A lot of people used to use it as a shortcut if they wanted to show a "transform" without having to do frame by frame.
But it should be used in moments when regular tweening just can't do the job. Like a real slow bending of a line or some shit.
I just use it for colour transitions and I don't want to put another symbol in my library.
Or shit like this:

Other ways to animate? No keyframes

Response to: The Animation Forum is so dead.. Posted November 20th, 2012 in Animation

I think the problem lies in the fact that people just come here to show off their works in progress or people that are new to animating in flash.
There's not a lot of discussing about flash animation on the web because the people that do post here know nothing about it because they're newbies and the people that know a thing or two about obscure animators don't come here and are actually working on shit.

Also, there's already the collab forums so it kind of makes sense that this board is stuck in this vicious circle of the same topics.
Not a lot you can do about that sadly enough.
Maybe if it was a board with some cool features where you can integrate swf files into your posts. Yah that'd be cool.

idk bro. I mean I think I got quite the addictive personality as in little self discipline and getting hooked real easy. But I seem to be picky in what I get hooked on.
And it's not like I get angry or frustrated when "my addictions" aren't available or whatever. I do get a little on edge when I go a few days without a cigarette.

Let's just say I haven't really put my addictive personality to the test.
Also everyone that's a smoker is a person with an addictive personality. That's all I got to say on the matter.
